Just Like Sarin Gas Lies US MH17 Narrative Unravels

Having completed the initial wave of demagoguery, allegations without proof, sensationalist yellow journalism and lies of high government officials the Obama regime's slam dunk case against the hated Vladimir Putin for the shoot down of Malaysian Airlines MH17 over a war zone is disintegrating. We have seen this movie before back when there was the similar damning case being made against Syria's president Bashar al Assad for allegedly gassing his own people in that Damascus suburb of Ghouta late last summer. The telescreens on the cable "news" channels showed wall to wall crash site images just like that disgusting little loop of the poor dying children in Ghouta last summer. I happened to go out to have lunch at a local sports pub last Friday and every screen in the place - well over twenty of various sizes - were tuned into the carnage including graphic pictures of bodies which although digitally fuzzed over weren't conducive to good digestion. This is the way it is when you live in what writer Chris Hedges has called an "Empire of Illusion".

Despite Secretary of State John "Skull and Bones" Kerry's appearance on all five of the Sunday morning government propaganda shows - one too many as the asinine one let slip with a GASP off camera criticism of Israeli's "pinpoint" operation in Gaza which continues to produce civilian deaths including may children. He was inevitably pounced on by Fox News Sunday's Chris Wallace for his latest gaffe of not being sufficiently lock-step with the shelling of children and it will be a boon for Republicans come election time. By Monday the story was already falling apart despite Kerry's latest indisputable proof and the admission came out that "Senior U.S. intelligence officials say they have no evidence of direct Russian government involvement in the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17" and that the plane was likely shot down as the result of a "mistake". However the continued provocation of Russia and Putin will continue as the corrupt state-corporate media is now selling the line that Russia "created the conditions" for the shootdown.

This is a crock of shit because in the usual weaving of a narrative that completely omits any piece of actual history relevant to the lies of Washington the fact that what really "created the conditions" for the MH17 disaster was the US government backing of the coup d'etat assisted by fascists and neo-Nazis that displaced the democratically elected leader of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych in February which destabilized the country. Libertarian former US Congressman Ron Paul said exactly that and predictably is being savaged for telling the truth by the neocon attack artists on the outer fringes of the media machine as the smears work their way through the echo chamber, coming soon to Jennifer Rubin's Washington Post blog. Now that the star-spangled sheep, already whipped into the usual bloodlust against Russia by months of lies have had the idea that Russia shot down the airliner firmly embedded in their thick skulls the shift will be on to the exploitation of the victims of the downed airliner to exploit the emotional factor. CNN is an expert with this having practically turned the entire operation over to 24/7 coverage of that other Malaysian Airlines jet a couple of months ago. As for the human interest story the inclusion of the 100 AIDS experts who were killed enroute to a conference will get the cruise missile liberals onboard and the narcissist in chief is already exploiting their deaths in his latest playing of the identity politics card as a way to disguise the bloodthirsty imperial agenda that is really at work.

So for now the blame game will be shifted back to medium heat because for the admission that there was no obvious Russian role in the shooting down of MH17 to have been made there is probably smoking gun proof of exactly the opposite and that an element of the junta in Kiev ordered the plane to be downed as a psychotic and cynical gambit that brings to mind Operation Northwoods. There is merit in this idea given the history of black ops as well as the ruthlessness of the neo-Nazis and fascists that the US supports within the Porshenko-Yatsenyuk illegitimate regime in Kiev. After all, the Kiev based junta did promise a "very nasty surprise" for anti-fascist, anti-austerity, federalist rebels who were gaining the upper hand in the civil war/ethnic cleansing operation in the east.  What could be more nasty than a false flag event, hundreds of dead bodies and a hell of a mess to clean up, a fully gestated media psyop to affix the blame and induce conditions of dramatically ratcheted down violence followed by a relentless barrage of civilian areas. Poroshenko immediately unleashed the GRAD attacks on Donetsk and has escalated the rhetoric - likely reading off of US supplied talking points to have the rebels officially designated as "terrorists" which would provide the impetus for the hitting of Russia with that "financial neutron bomb" which would be an unprecedented escalation and an act of war.

But something is up because with the Obama administration backing off - at least for now - and State Department representatives getting testy with the press and referring to social media as proof the plan to pin it on Putin has gone badly awry somewhere.  

Sunday Morning McCain: Fortress America Edition

This Sunday's all star lineup of war criminals, liars, charlatans, recycled political hacks and deranged fiends featured more than the usual gaggle trotted out to spew lies and engage in demagoguery but the one constant remains that mangy, deranged old bastard Senator John McCain. McCain - this week sans his little butt buddy Lindsey Graham, the Palmetto State princess - was in his usual dyspeptic and cranky form in pushing for increased US involvement in Iraq. The target of McCain's ire during his appearance on State of the Union with that annoying sow Candy Crowley was Senator Rand Paul, the most hated man (at least to the neocons and militarists) in the Republican party because he dares to speak of minding our own business and extricating ourselves from the money-sucking charnel house in the Middle East where American blood and treasure has been squandered for nothing.

Old Blood and Guts used his appearance to chime in on a range of topics, all wrapped in the dripping contempt towards that horrible black man who whipped his ass in the 2008 election - Obama may be a catastrophe but there is something very pathological in how McCain deals with it that makes one inclined to suspect that he just may be a racist. The race card is definitely overplayed in defending Obama and his reign of errors but it is difficult to explain the animosity that some have towards him and it's more than just a matter of policy. The cranky one opined on how much he admired the "restraint" that the equally deranged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has shown in his latest kill crazy rampage in Gaza - to a guy like McCain anything short of Hiroshima level destruction passes for "restraint". He also chimed in on the illegal migrant crisis where hordes of children have been showing up in the USA! USA! USA! - largely a result of decades of a murderous foreign policy in Latin America that was based on the use of death squads trained in torture techniques at the former School of the Americas to prop up corporate friendly despots. Then of course there was his attack on Rand Paul and his shilling for a return to Iraq.

According to a story in the "Inside Baseball" of the beltway circle jerk Politico (the SOTU official transcript was not available as of this writing) in a story entitled "McCain: Paul's 'fortress America' comes at 'heavy price'" the Senator from Arizona who was censured by his own state's Republican Party for being "too liberal" - that would be liberal in the sense of the word when it comes to the "improve or we'll kill you" foreign policy doctrine. I excerpt the following from Politico:

“Senator Paul is part of a wing of the [Republican] party that’s been there ever since prior to World War I … and that is a withdrawal to fortress America,” The Republican senator from Arizona said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “The things we’re seeing in the world today, in greater turmoil than at any time in my lifetime, is a direct result of an absence of American leadership, and we are paying a very, very heavy price.”

What McCain and the warmongers, the neocon policy wizards and the rest of the blood-suckers drunk off of their asses on American exceptionalism never mention when conjuring up their blessed world wars to make their points is that IF the United States wasn't sold out by then President Woodrow Wilson into entering World War I then the world that we live in would be a far different and arguably better place today. There would have been no crushing of Germany nor the subsequent humilation and that embittered little corporal and failed artist likely never would have found such a receptive audience with the rabble that gathered in the beer halls. Rand Paul should be saluted by all Americans for his willingness to question the very horrific direction that this country has been led by scum like John McCain and his absolute hard on to send others to die for his own political expedience. 

I don't know why John McCain continues to receive the amount of airtime and false credibility that he does, it is not like he won the election in 2008 and should have just retired with dignity instead of continuing to float around in the media bitching and whining and in foreign countries stirring up trouble - like palling around with neo-Nazis in Kiev and helping the snake that is Saudi Prince Bandar in arming jihadists - some of which ended up with ISIS. But dignity is beneath McCain, this is after all a man who according to many when he was a guest of the Viet Cong at the Hanoi Hilton after being shot down during his bombing of civilians made propaganda videos for the communists, it is a sad sign of our ongoing national moral deterioration that he is treated as some sort of honored figure but that is why we are lurching towards collapse now isn't it?

Saddam's Uranium: The Sequel

The latest escalation of the propaganda war against people desiring a return to some semblance of normalcy as existed prior to September 11, 2001 – the day when everything changed – is the claim that the bad-ass Islamic bogeymen ISIS has taken control of 88 pounds of Uranium in Iraq. The dirty bomb card has now been dealt and will be hyped by the corrupt state-corporate media as one more reason to ratchet down civil liberties, subject citizens to more invasive search and confiscate tactics in airports and most of all serve as a cudgel during the coming election cycle.

The tale of the Iraqi Uranium redux and the weapons of mass destruction threat – remember, we don’t want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud – first surfaced back in June with the story that ISIS had taken control of one of Saddam’s old chemical weapons plants at Muthanna. That one didn’t get much traction other than on selected right-wing echo chamber blogs and bottom-feeder websites because it was hasty and sloppy. The 88 pounds (nice round and memorable number isn’t it?) that are now claimed to have been seized from Mosul University has the official backing of the government of Iraq, the UN Ambassador who per a Reuters story told UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in a recent letter.

The Reuters story, “Exclusive: Iraq tells U.N. that ‘terrorist groups’ seized nuclear weapons” states:

Insurgents in Iraq have seized nuclear materials used for scientific research at a university in the country's north, Iraq told the United Nations in a letter appealing for help to "stave off the threat of their use by terrorists in Iraq or abroad."

Nearly 40 kilograms (88 pounds) of uranium compounds were kept at Mosul University, Iraq's U.N. Ambassador Mohamed Ali Alhakim told U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in the July 8 letter obtained by Reuters on Wednesday.

"Terrorist groups have seized control of nuclear material at the sites that came out of the control of the state," Alhakim wrote, adding that such materials "can be used in manufacturing weapons of mass destruction."

"These nuclear materials, despite the limited amounts mentioned, can enable terrorist groups, with the availability of the required expertise, to use it separate or in combination with other materials in its terrorist acts," said Alhakim.

He warned that they could also be smuggled out of Iraq.

Libertarian financial blog Zero Hedge also cites the story of the 88 pounds of uranium in a posting entitled “ISIS Has Seized 88 Pounds Of Uranium In Northern Iraq” from which I excerpt:

With the mainstream media having moved on in the news cycle to Dow 'almost' 17,000 and the 'Border Crisis' Scandal, it seems The Islamic State (the terrorists formerly known as ISIS) have stepped up their game and come out swinging... by seizing 88 pounds of nuclear material (uranium compounds) from Mosul University. As Iraq's UN Ambassador warned, "these nuclear materials, despite the limited amounts mentioned, "can be used in manufacturing weapons of mass destruction... or in combination with other materials in its terrorist acts."

First, the sitting government of Iraq as besieged as it currently is has a huge interest in putting down the mysterious ISIS eruption so anything that comes out of it, such as claims made by the Iraqi UN Ambassador about 88 pounds of uranium needs to be taken with extreme skepticism. The timing also serves western regimes in Washington and London who are continually confronted with their rogue behavior, specifically NSA/FBI/CIA unconstitutional and unjustifiable surveillance - as in prominent American-Muslim leaders being subjected to targeting because they are Muslims and two US spies turning up within the German government. The renewed threat of that "smoking gun as a mushroom cloud" gives the ruling regimes of both nations an excuse to rebut critics and launch a crackdown in the always invoked interests of "national security". This is already happening in the UK where Prime Minister David Cameron has called for an emergency law to circumvent the process in order to lock their surveillance systems into place as a matter of protecting the populace from "terrorists" (never mind that the real terrorists are embedded in the increasingly Norsefire leaning government) and using ISIS as the excuse.

The Obama administration hasn't gone that route yet but it's coming and if it isn't Obama then it will be Republicans in Congress after they retake the Senate in November and begin the impeachment proceedings. Having a dirty bomb go off  - or better yet, an alleged plot being foiled -would be an enormous boon to the security state apparatus and will provide Republicans with the added charge that Obama "did not keep America safe from the terrorists". The chatter from those seemingly in the know, for example Dick Cheney with his promise of a new 9/11 and Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham is extremely suspicious and grows louder with each subsequent Sunday morning bloviation circuit cycle.

The story of the 88 pounds of death and destruction though, at least of this morning is primarily being promulgated once again on right-wing blogs and websites such as The Gateway Pundit with “Caliphate Goes Nuclear”, Free Republic with “ISIS has seized 88 pounds of Uranium in Northern Iraq” (taken from Zero Hedge) and trashy site BuzzFeed with “ISIS Militants Seize Nuclear Materials in Iraq that Could Be Used for WMD’s”, It has all of the hallmarks of one of those propaganda dispersals that were commonplace during the Bushreich and nothing could be better for the future prospects of Republicans than to resuscitate that monster again. Not that the Democrats don't deserve to be nailed to the wall on their abysmal record on "terrorism" - Obama has vastly expanded the surveillance state, formally put into law the right of the president to have American citizens extra-judicially killed and continued the meddling in the Middle East that does the exact opposite of win hearts and minds. - The administration is also standing by while Israeli extremist nutjob Bibi Netanyahu is engaging in another bloody attack on Gaza after his demagoguery over the tragic abduction and murder of three young Jews that created a climate of racism and lust for blood vengeance much like the one that gripped the USA! USA! USA! after 9/11.  While the nature of ISIS itself is still unknown as to the origin, funding and state backing behind it the region continues on a slow rolling boil.

Bloodsuckers McCain and Graham Hit Sunday Circuit to Peddle More Lies

A 2001 piece at satirical website The Onion entitled “Bush: 'Our Long National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity Is Finally Over'” published shortly after his inauguration was astonishing in the uncanny ability to so accurately predict the future. Now in mid-2014 we are a nation at permanent war, whether it be Afghanistan, a new Cold War with Russia or the third bite at the apple in Iraq it is as Orwell once put it "Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia". The wars are of course not the desire of the people, and truly there are very few of them who sacrifice a damned thing (since we no longer have conscription) other than lost investment in their own country due to the diversion of tax payer dollars to fund permanent militarism. President Dwight D. Eisenhower lamented the social cost of a state of permanent war in his 1961 farewell address as well as the dangers of the Military Industrial Complex but those dangers can also be very lucrative opportunities to the death pimp politicians who are always willing to send others to kill, die and be maimed for their ongoing ability to remain in office thanks to those who fund them as well as their vainglorious self-importance. 

With the new wave of violence in Iraq courtesy of that brilliant re-branding of the scary Muslim menace ISIS and the long promised by the neocon fear-mongers caliphate US troops are returning to Iraq again. While the troops, who when the violence really gets kicked up will return home to the USA!, USA!, USA! to further tax an already stretched to breaking VA system  (and no, Obama's corporate stooge, a former Procter & Gamble CEO who was just named ad VA Secretary is not going to fix it) the usual suspects are out shilling for escalation. Never mind that they have always been wrong about the warfare state that became the "new normal" after September 11, 2001 they still manage to be afforded attention, undeserved credibility and a national television platform to bray for their wars.

There are no two more diseased parasites who have lead the hordes of blood-suckers feasting on the host of what used to be a great country than Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham. The dynamic duo appeared on Sunday morning's bloviation circuit to engage in their standard asinine lying and demagoguery as the election cycle nears and there are cheap political points to provide added value to their pimping for the Pentagon and the arms industry which both rely upon the other for continued existence.

It was on CBS's Face the Nation that old blood and guts and the Palmetto state princess showed up to sell their wares and I excerpt from the transcript:

SCHIEFFER: Let's get back to Iraq.

 What is your take, Senators, on this new video? Is ISIS now trying to scare us? Is the threat to the United States from ISIS growing? I guess those are the two questions I would have to ask.

 GRAHAM: Well, according to direction of national intelligence, the FBI director and most of our intelligence community, ISIS presents a direct threat to the homeland in Syria, now Iraq.

Americans and Western Europeans are going to help their cause. And they can flow back here. So, yes, they are a direct threat to the homeland and they're getting much stronger as we speak.

[These sick bastards will do anything to catch that post 9/11 flag-sucking lightning in a bottle again to keep their NSA surveillance state in place and get the sheep on board for another war - shameless] 

MCCAIN: I think it's important to recognize that we did have this situation stabilized, thanks to the surge, that we could have left a residual force behind which would have stabilized the situation.

This is not like a hurricane or an earthquake. This didn't have to happen. This is a failure of United States policy. And, by the way, there still is none that I can discern, either a policy or a strategy, to handle this situation.

This guy Baghdadi when he left Camp Bucca, a prison camp that we ran, he said, see you in New York. We now have the largest and richest enclave of radical terrorism in history that not only encompasses Iraq, as we know, but Iraq and Syria. So, we have to look at this as a Syria-Iraq problem. And one of the things that we need to do, of course we want Maliki to be replaced, but we got to stop ISIS first. And that means that we're going to have to do airstrikes. And we need to step up our support for the Free Syrian Army that is really right now getting very badly beaten.

The Bergdahl as a radical of some sort is based on propaganda provided by former Iran-Contra figure and perjurer Duane "Dewey" Clarridge who runs a discredited private intelligence firm "The Eclipse Group" that primarily appeals to Fox News viewers. Bergdahl was also just cleared by the Army of any misconduct while in captivity. McCain knows better than this and so does CBS] 

SCHIEFFER: Just one thing, Senator. You say we left. The Iraqis would not sign the status of forces agreement, which would have put troops under our control, legal control. Are you just saying we didn't try hard enough to get that agreement?

 MCCAIN: I'm saying that they were ready to sign. I'm saying that this administration, this president didn't want to stay, and we were there in Baghdad and in Irbil when they agreed to do it.

Now, we were actually there. And the president of the United States would never give them a number of troops and their mission that they wanted to leave behind. In the words of General Dempsey in testimony before the Armed Services Committee, it cascaded down to 3,000 people. The president campaigned he was going to get us out. And the president is going to make the same mistake in Afghanistan, unless he reverses that decision, that he made.

You're going to see the same result in Afghanistan. We just came back from there. They feel abandoned.

SCHIEFFER: Senator, do you agree with that?

GRAHAM: I think the big fear I have about what we're doing in Afghanistan is that we have great capability now.

We can watch a part of the world that is a safe haven for terrorists. Thirteen years after 9/11, there are more safe havens. There are more terrorist groups with more weapons and more capabilities than before 9/11, and we're having less capability, less presence.

If we get down to 1,000 troops by 2017, and dismantle our eyes and ears in Afghanistan and Pakistan, it will haunt us far worse than Iraq. The counterterrorism mission in Afghanistan is a front-line defense against -- for the homeland and it is being destroyed by this idea of leaving completely in 2017.

Mr. President, reverse your course. Keep our counterterrorism capabilities in effect to protect us here at home.

A Narcissist Scorned: Obama Throws Another Tantrum

Despite weeks of saber rattling and threats from our dear leader Barack the Feckless and his bull in a China shop Secretary of State John Kerry, the Skull and Bones pedigreed stammering ass whose brief tenure has now put the US on a path to a war with Russia the referendum in Crimea that they had so desperately wanted to avoid went down on Sunday. With the third body blow to dwindling US prestige now having landed – the first two being Russia’s offer of asylum to former government whistleblower turned NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden followed by the humiliation of Russian leader Vladimir Putin intervening to prevent the neocon’s splendid little war on Syria the vote in Crimea has assholes puckering this morning. The poor aggrieved star bellied Sneetches in their mighty kingdom inside the DC beltway are apoplectic that the people of Crimea have given Obama the middle finger and voted to rejoin Russia. How is that coup d’etat going for you today Mr. President?

Not that you can blame Crimea considering that the western orchestrated overthrow of democratically elected Ukraine president Viktor Yanukovych set the country on a course towards corporate exploitation by the global finance mafia and that fascists and neo-Nazis had key roles in the puppet government. It is not an argument that Putin is any kind of great humanitarian figure but better the devil you know than to be beggared as the new world order carves up your homeland like a Thanksgiving turkey and the US corporate mercenaries such as Victoria “Fuck the EU” Nuland turn a blind eye to packs of marauding neo-Nazi militias. They got out while the getting was good making the world safe for McDonalds and at a larger level for Monsanto, Cargill and Chevron has nothing to do with that exalted horseshit of “spreading democracy” that is always invoked when it comes to raping an overseas country for its natural resources. Just look at what is going on in Iraq – the neocons were going to bring “democracy” to those who were under the boot of once reliable US puppet Saddam Hussein  and it is a charnel house that far exceeds the worst days of Saddam. Don’t look for any of this in the corrupt US state-corporate media though although there has been some small leakages of the real story as of late.

So what is the pope of hope to do but stamp his feet, hold his breath and launch a wave of economic sanctions against Russia which is as Ron Paul recently said is an "act of war" and this is not going to end well considering the hubris of the arrogant cancer on the Potomac, the think skin of Obama and the imperial hubris of a rapidly declining world power. Russia is not Iraq, Iran or any of the other shitty little countries that can be kicked around by the militarized to the teeth global bully, it is a large nation with a long history and a sense of pride unlike anything that exists in the United States of Dancing With the Stars and it's borderline moron population. This too is going to end up blowing up in the face of the titular President Obama, defacto President John McCain and all of the holier than thou dumbasses and dipshits in their orbit. It is only a matter of how much damage will be done, all of it of the self-inflicted nature that The Homeland has become accustomed to.

Whoever got the idea of a ridiculously conceived overthrow of a democratically elected leader, backed by corrupt western interests and carried out with the help of ruthless gangs of right-wing extremists, fascists and neo-Nazis (from which likely came that sniper fire that provided the impetus for the ouster) during the Sochi Winter Olympic games all to stick it to Putin should just do the honorable thing and perform harakiri. Ritual suicide is an act of honor in Japanese culture and the ongoing clusterfuck in the aftermath of the botched coup demands that there be people held accountable before the weakling Obama and the neocons get all of us incinerated. The way that this thing is unfolding I wouldn't put the ultimate act of stupidity of starting a nuclear war past these imbeciles. Those responsible should just do the right thing and do so quickly. 

Too bad there is neither honor nor accountability in this collapsing house of cards that is The Homeland. 

Obama's Pathetic Team America Style Commando Raids

When things appear at their most dire never fear, the essential elements of the government – our blessed military and special operations hit squads will deliver the bacon for the establishment. With the economy being driven closer to implosion thanks to the latest ‘my dick is bigger than your dick’  jousting between Barry and Boehner ordering up the military apprehension of a couple of "terrorists” in two daring raids is a certified crowd pleasing news grabber.  Omitted from any of the triumphant tales of U.S. intelligence and special ops prowess in landing two of Al-Qaeda’s big fish is the inconvenient truth that this country is currently funneling money and support to their cohorts in Syria.  That would of course spoil the narrative of Team Obama World Police and the apprehension and rendition of two of those bad ass bogeymen over the weekend in Libya and Somalia one of the kidnapped is allegedly the mastermind of embassy attacks in Africa fifteen years ago. I mean come on now, with the world's preeminent spying and killing machine if the guy was such a dangerous and critical target wouldn't he have been taken out years ago? Especially given Barry's itchy trigger finger. This is just another distraction from an administration that has taken phoniness and stagecraft to another level entirely after they allegedly popped bin Laden. It is all just like a movie now and just perfect for a TV addicted populace filled with schmucks, suckers and other gullible types. Wake up people, the national security state has hundreds of these guys constantly under the watchful eye and ready to haul in to much hoopla whenever the need arises.

In a reported third raid by U.S. forces, the vaunted Seal Team Six was chased out of Barawe, Somalia with their tails between their legs when their mission to rendition a reported al-Shabab "terrorist" allegedly associated with the recent Westgate Mall carnage blew up - seems like the "skinnies" can shoot back on occasion.  The timing of this bit of daredevilry of which Secretary of Skull and Bones Kerry boasted that "they can run but they can't hide" which pretty much applies to everyone on the Obama regime's planetary surveillance grid.  It was as ridiculous as the Bush era color-coded charts and whenever some dumb ass miscreants who fell for government entrapment schemes and then were arrested and paraded out in front of the state media as proof that their unconstitutional and trillion dollar black budget programs were actually working. Justin Raimondo at Antiwar.com nails it again on this one in his piece Libya and Somalia: Foreign Policy as Political Theater from which I excerpt:

The US government may be in "shutdown" mode, but the American Empire is still operating at maximum capacity: this was underscored over the weekend by twin raids in North Africa, one that ended in the capture a high-profile Al Qaeda leader in Libya – wanted for the 1998 attacks on American embassies in East Africa – and the other failing to nab Ahmed Abdi Godane, a.k.a. Mukhtar Abu Zubeyr, purported leader of the shadowy Al Shabaab, Al Qaeda’s Somalian affiliate.

These raids are being touted by the President’s partisans as a great double-headed victory, a triumph of Obamaism in the foreign policy realm, and a welcome diversion away from the budget standoff. As usual, these cheerleaders of the Royal Court not only exaggerate but also invert the real significance of the events. For the reality is that both "victories" in our endless war on terrorism underscore the abject failure of America’s foreign policy of global intervention, and specifically the more subtle variety espoused by the present occupant of the White House.

Exactly. There is always money for war and other foreign shenanigans and it has bipartisan support, I have yet to hear one member of this most rotten of congresses line up to salute this as the complete farce and waste of taxpayer money that it is. The raids are drawing condemnation as well as questions of legality in the affected countries. In the story an anonymous diplomatic source is quoted - "This is knee-jerk stuff and smacks of a massive failure of intelligence. Are extrajudicial killings and covert kidnapping raids the best way of dealing with the problem? Why is the international response so feeble?"  The answer of course is that in 2013 kidnapping, extrajudicial killings and of course torture have become emblematic as symbols of America rendering quaint and obsolete those silly concepts of justice, judiciousness and fairness.  Hell, if you aren't down with it you yourself might just be a "terrorist" who just may end up on Barry's  kill list, that one that he reviews over a bowl of Captain Crunch and a glass of orange juice each morning and future date with either a hellfire missile or the American Gestapo.

Obama Goes into C.Y.A. Mode after Kerry's Rhetorical Blunder

During his six interview public relations blitz on Monday Barack Hussein Obama took advantage of a “breakthrough” in the ongoing media promoted Syria crisis to cover his own ass.  With public opinion polls showing a majority of Americans opposed to this latest idiotic and most ill-advised war of all the pope of hope capitalized on a John Kerry blunder. The Secretary of Skull and Bones provided the surprise out when he stated that the Assad regime could simply turn over all of the chemical weapons to an internationally neutral party to avoid war. The hated Russia rapidly moved to get their man in Damascus, Bashar Al-Assad to agree with their using Kerry’s opening to ride to the rescue, for the time not only preventing WW III but managing to look more rational and democratic than the fascist ruled U.S.  The entire scenario was made possible when the loutish buffoon Kerry developed one of his trademark cases of diarrhea of the mouth. During his wall to wall sales pitch for bogus secret intelligence on that affixed the Assad regime with complete responsibility for the Ghouta gas attack, he let slip that such a move would by Assad would be a game changer. His exact and widely mocked dialogue that turned him and his boss into Putin’s bitches for the second time in less than two months was – “Sure, he could turn over every bit of his weapons to the international community within the next week, without delay,” “But he isn’t about to.” The savvy Russians and Syria jumped on it like starved pitbulls advancing on a cornered rat and Barry had to put his missiles away – for the time being that is. The behind the scenes work by the war machine continues.

It is nice to see the liar Kerry hoisted on his own petard. His hypocrisy on this new war  turns his famous and phony Vietnam statement on its head by pushing to be the one who would ensure that some poor bastard will be the first one to die for a mistake. Even as Barry dances a dervish of spin in front of a national audience  Kerry is backing off his words, stating that it was only a “rhetorical” statement and not an actual condition of hitting the brakes on WW III. Obama must be delighted in that now he has a chance to save face by appearing to be a man of reason and just postpone the attack for awhile until either Syria is unable to comply within the given time frame to disarm or another chemical attack of dubious origin magically occurs to bolster the case. It is Saddam 101 taken right out of the playbook of Bush and Cheney’s neocon regime. Just use the extra time to move the goalposts so far out of Syrian range that there will be no way on God’s green earth that they can be met and hope for another mysterious gas attack on women and children. Am I Cynical?  Yes but the bastards who run this place are the most cynical creatures on two legs led by the hyena in chief himself. I am but an amateur.

So tonight will the much-awaited national address by El Presidente and there will most certainly be talk of weapons of mass destruction and inevitable references to September 11, 2001 as today is after all the eve of the twelfth anniversary of the granddaddy of all ‘terrorist’ attacks that became the lynchpin for our star-spangled police state. 9/11 is the event that forever changed America and changed it for the absolute worst. Every insane transgression against civil liberties has been undertaken because of the elite’s exploitation of that tragedy to reinforce their own positions of privilege as well as to create an impenetrable bulwark between us and them. It has been twelve years of dumbness, fear, rancor, racism, religious intolerance, government spying, corporate cronyism, war, gun-grabbing, political corruption and the government extraction of tax payer money to pay for their own enslavement by an out of control national security state that has made trillions since that day. Mr. Obama will be the latest to wantonly abuse it for political gain as he delivers his stemwinder tonight, patting himself on the back for avoiding an immediate war on Syria while facilitating those who are now putting into place the impossible conditions upon which Assad will soon be crucified upon.

In a side note Obama’s likely successor Hillary Clinton is revved up for war and ready for the U.S. war machine to kick ass and take names. For now Barry has once again emerged as the Teflon coated snake oil salesman that he always has been and dodges accountability for his enormously stupid “red line” ultimatum. But like a predatory animal laying low in the weeds he will bide his time and go for the kill as soon as the coast is clear for him to burnish his elite credentials and bask in the glory of being a war president.

I would have to say that in my opinion the greatest thing about the officially announced death of our very own Emanuel Goldstein, Osama bin Laden is the sheer joy of watching the Republicans having to eat their own shit. There is something wonderful about the super-sized helping of humble pie served up with one of those nice little toothpick American flaggie things planted in the middle of their slab now that the rotten fascist fifth columnists and neocons have been robbed of the most kick ass club in the bag, their shameless exploitation of the ‘terrorist’ attacks of 9/11/01 for political gain. The GOP has utterly terrorized the rubes, suckers and suburban Sally soccer moms for nearly a decade now, fundamentally altering the country in the process. You can bet the house on it that the fear and terror cards along with the inevitable Obama is a secret Muslim who along with buddies Bill Ayers and Louis Farrakhan attended wild drug fueled orgies where satanic ritual sacrifices were held were key components of their 2012 strategy. Remember the wild rumors about Hillary's secret lesbian trysts in the White House and the Christmas tree adorned with crackpipes and dildos? That one was a children's bedtime story compared to the volcanic eruption of lies, filth and toxic spew that the Koch Brothers money was funding this time around. The narratives were already well under way and likely were very costly, direct mailings, whisper campaigns, retainers for think tank scum like Dinesh D'Souza and his ilk for their libelous bulk purchased books all are going to have to be scrapped because in  less than a week it is all gone, it went up like a bag of flaming dogshit. To all those who have been justifiably revolted by this all too predictable heinous tactic of assassination though black propaganda and a corrupt media that amplifies and disseminates it just enjoy the sweet schadenfreude along with a side of delicious irony. 

Bin Laden is dead! The release of this week's latest edition of Time Magazine, the official 'news' magazine for the establishment with the evil one's stock picture with the traditional red X though it ensures that despite the caterwauling of the squealing little swine birthers, degenerate America hating pigs like Orly Taitz, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and the rest of the neocon propagandists the official account is now locked down by the impenetrable firewall of conventional wisdom. Sure they can warble about having to see the pictures like the hilariously desperate Sarah Palin (perhaps she can finagle some sort of trade bartering beaver shots of Bristol for the pics of the now dead bin Laden) who still doesn't understand that her political career is over and that she is well into her next phase of being a gross parody of herself, not that she wasn't always a parody from the git go. Yes, they are going totally batshit over in the big carnival tent of the Republican party, barker in chief Donald T.Rump can now focus on selling tickets to the feces eating contest in the geek section. It is astonishing to behold, the party of shoot first ask questions later is bemoaning the capping of the unarmed uber terrorist and in what is the most hilarious thing of all the corporate media is now suddenly concerned about international law and did the execution of Osama violate it. Hell, that one is hilarious, nearly spit coffee on the keyboard when I read that. Just where in the fuck was the corporate media and the concern for international law when George W. Bush launched his illegal wars, bombed the shit out of civilians, presided over a vile and sadistic regime that made torture an official U.S. policy or for that matter when Obama continued to endorse predator drone strikes on civilian weddings? Double standards and it shows just how rotten to the core that the consolidated and interlocking media in this country has become. Oh, and now here's a real knee-slapper, the Republican whiners, continuing with their well-established culture of victimhood are pissy that none of the credit for taking out bin Laden is being given to Dubya or to his immoral and illegal torture programs. But at least it's consistent since they never saw fit that there should have been any of the blame  assigned to him despite the damned inconvenient fact that the 9/11 events occurred during his watch. Perhaps there can be a commemorative edition of My Pet Goat issued in order to honor Bush for his heroism on that morning. 

God Dammit, they cut into Celebrity Apprentice!

It is pretty obvious that the story of bin Laden's assassination by Seal Team 6 is the official story of the state and it is already being reinforced with the same type of groupthink promulgated by the corporate media that followed the original attacks. While the release of any actual photos of the body have been nixed by Obama on the grounds of national security the government has released bin Laden home videos that are making their way about the internet and media megaphones today. The post death storyline goes to great lengths to play down the mythic capacity of the man once built up to be the baddest motherfucker in the valley of the shadow of death. There have been stories describing bin Laden as "unkempt", "bored", "shabby", "frail" and "weary". There have been stories on the contents of his medicine cabinet, did he have eczema or some other skin condition? Was he using a form of Viagra? Xanax? Interestingly enough nothing seems to have been found that would indicate treatments for kidney failure. The official propaganda gains new layers by the day, this from an article in Time's Special Report issue:

So he wasn't in a cave after all. Osama bin Laden, master marketer of mass murder, loved to traffic in the image of the ascetic warrior-prophet. In one of his most famous videotapes, he chose gray rocks for a background, a rough camo jacket for a costume and a rifle for a prop. He portrayed a hard, pure alternative to the decadent weakness of the modern world. Soft Westerners and their corrupt puppet princes reclined in luxury and sin while he wanted nothing but a gun and a prayer rug. The zealot travels light, his bloodred thoughts so pure that even stones are as cushions for his troubled sleep.

Now we know otherwise. Bin Laden was not the stoic soldier that he played onscreen. The exiled son of a Saudi construction mogul was living in a million-dollar home in a wealthy town nestled among green hills. He apparently slept in a king-size bed with a much younger wife. He had satellite TV. This, most of all, was fitting, because no matter how many hours he spent talking nostalgically of the 12th century and the glory of the islamic caliphate, bin laden was a master of the 21st century image machine.

The deconstruction of the uber-fiend, peddled for years, most relentlessly by the insidious Bush regime to hold political power and justify their wars and associated criminality was well under way. The Republican party owned 9/11, wielded it as a trusty bludgeon and used it without mercy as they eviscerated the United States Constitution, turned torture into the guiding principle of national policy, looted the treasury and doled out ever more lucrative contracts to mercenaries and private war profiteers on the taxpayer dime. Whenever it was questioned one of those timely bin Laden videos or tapes just happened to pop up, up went the color-coded terror alert and the nuisance of having to come up with answers went away. For example when Osama bin Laden just happened to pop up on a video four days or so before the 2004 elections it provided a ringing endorsement for the terrorism of Bush and Cheney and with a bit of help in Ohio courtesy of Karl Rove's election stealing machine the king was coronated anew for four more years of hell. The Republicans seized bin Laden and along with him the mythic menace of the destroyer of worlds, it was as though George W. Bush had pulled the magical sword Excalibur from the stone of the smoking rubble of the World Trade Center and the use of the tragedy for political expedience was already official policy while the rotting flesh of the victims still hung heavy in the lower Manhattan air.

Later in the Time piece there is this:

No Hollywood filmmaker ever staged a more terrifying spectacle than 9/11, which bin Laden conjured from a few box cutters and 19 misguided martyrs. When the Twin Towers collapsed, he became the real-life answer to the ruthless, stateless and seemingly unstoppable villains of James Bond fantasy. It was necessary then, to find him and render him mortal again, reduce him to mere humanity - not just as a matter of justice but as a matter of self-defense. 

And it has been done, Barack Hussein Obama has stolen away the mighty sword while at the same time the Mighty Wurlitzer of the pocket media not only ensures that the truth of the death of the evil one will be that of the official story of the state but that the original dogma of the attacks themselves would be reinforced for all time. With the establishment of the official historical account (which as the maxim goes, written by the victors and sanitized to omit the dirt) not only does the questioning of any part of the 9/11 story become intolerable by bin Laden himself is being body scrubbed with his past CIA association being denied by think tank hacks like Peter Bergen in his prominent WaPo piece entitled Five Myths about Osama bin Laden. The usual gaggle of reliable neocon stooges like Charles Kraüthammer patting themselves on the back while trumpeting the great success of the phony war on terror, the sadists and authoritarian freaks on the right-wing decrying any criticism of torture, in Time's case making apologies for the ugly Americans celebrating the demise of the bogeyman with their idiot "USA,USA,USA" chants and viciously cracking down on those who happen to wander off the star spangled lemming farm. Take for example Pittsburgh Steelers running back whose most recent claim to fame was a key fumble during the Super Bowl that pretty much sealed his team's doom. Both barrels were turned on Mendenhall this week for his daring to use TWITter to weigh in on the orgy of glee during the national barbecuing of bin Laden's ass - "those of you who said you want to see Bin Laden burn in hell and piss on his ashes, I ask how would God feel about your heart?... What kind of person celebrates death?". For this the man was descended upon as if by a biblical plague of flesh-eating bats by the pocket media kingmakers, flag-sucking drones and assorted other imbecilic dwellers of the most befouled gutters of the mind. Were this a more primitive (or in our case futuristic) society, Mendenhall would have been quickly an ruthlessly hunted down, his tongue ripped out with fire heated iron tongs and his wayward fingers chopped off so as to never again engage in such heresy as well as to sent an example for others. 


We have been here before, any dissent from the Bush administration's blatant usage of the 9/11 event for reasons of politics and settling an old score with Saddam Hussein were affixed with the scarlet letters of traitor and anti-American. This is just the reverse form of the same primitive defense of the official religions. When it comes to doubts about the ceremonies, false idols and totems any who dare to utter the blasphemies must be dealt with summarily and with extreme prejudice. Any really serious examination of the scaly underbelly of the angry beast with millions of electronic eyes that is the Homeland in the new American century must be taken with a familiarity of the allegory of Plato's cave. Once you have been outside don't even bother to venture back to try to enlighten the other slaves for ye shalt be damned for your efforts if not drawn and quartered by a team of Clydesdales.

Maybe the real truth of the bin Laden story is that his former sponsors and associates within the American establishment finally just wanted to write the end to his story, tie up that last loose end because to do anything else would ensure a demise, sucked under in the quicksand bog of the wars without end. Obviously spooked by the recent Standard and Poor downgrade of the U.S. debt perhaps it was just an acknowledgement of that which is obvious in that the wars, especially the bottomless money pit in Afghanistan are destroying the country in ways that bin Laden or any other foreign enemy ever could. The bin Laden execution brings to mind the scene from the classic film Apocalypse Now when finally reaching the river's end Captain Willard is delivered to the compound of Colonel Kurtz who had gone rogue and was as a result marked for death by his own country's military leadership in order to terminate his command:

Kurtz: Did they say why, Willard, why they want to terminate my command?

Willard: I was sent on a classified mission, sir.

Kurtz: It's no longer classified, is it? What did they tell you?

Willard: They told me that you had gone totally insane, and that your methods were unsound.

Kurtz: Are my methods unsound?

Willard: I don't see any method at all, sir.

Kurtz: I expected someone like you. What did you expect? Are you an assassin?

Willard: I'm a soldier.

Kurtz: You're neither. You're an errand boy, sent by grocery clerks, to collect a bill.

Osama bin Laden was never going to stand trial, not in this Empire, not with what he knew. Despite the best efforts of the professional propagandists and spin doctors to downplay his longtime involvement as a valuable instrument of U.S. policy, most notably with the Mujahadeen in the proxy war against the Soviets back in the Reagan years in Afghanistan. What is now existent in popular culture as a noble effort, Charlie Wilson's War for example with the all-American Tom Hanks playing the flamboyant Texan Republican who used his seat in the U.S. Congress to promote arming Islamic radicals, a Reagan pet project right up there with letting good ole Ollie North run guns and drugs to fund arming the Latin American death squads. Were bin Laden to have a forum the potential revealing of such a duplicitous history could prove to be immensely embarrassing and in our sugar-coated, sanitized and flag-draped narrative we couldn't possibly admit to colluding with criminals, dictators, Nazi war criminals or Muslim fanatics in order to further an agenda largely dictated by corporations and plutocrats. Best to just send in the hit squad and be done with it, if that's what actually happened. 

Media analyst Danny Schecter puts it well in his piece Nailing Osama Bin Laden: Was it a military or amedia operation? Why now?

They could have captured him, but that would lead to the hassle of putting him on trial. Besides, what if he revealed his long connection with the CIA and US officials? Can't have that. So the kill order was given, along with a quick disposal of the body, mafia-style (as in “sleeping with the fishes)."

But we will never really know will we?

I have always personally believed that he was dead, at least since shortly after the towers fell and I have never been convinced that he played anything more than an ancillary role in the 9/11 attacks. The attacks as they occurred couldn’t have been carried out by anything less than a multi-national alliance of serious and I mean stone cold professional military personnel, intelligence pros, mole networks largely compartmentalized to provide plausible denial and government officials with the clout to influence both the behind the scenes preparatory work as well as the following cover-up. The weakest part of the entire story to me has always been Osama bin Laden and his flight-simulator trained Islamic fundamentalist fanatics like Mohammad Atta, Ninjas with box-cutters who could overwhelm a multi-trillion dollar intelligence colossus, circumvent the entire national air defense command, dupe U.S. allies and their intelligence services and then pull off with crackerjack precision three daredevil direct hits on U.S. buildings with such damage being done to the structures as to defy the basic laws of physics. Americans are stupid though and swallowed it all, rolled over and gave up their rights and begged for more tyrannical enslavement as their tax dollars were funneled to private military contractors (mercenaries) and private   intelligence firms operating with impunity, zero oversight and no loyalty except to the bottom line. Maybe in the movies Bruce Willis can assemble a crew of losers, party freaks, misunderstood geniuses and hard-assed oil patch roughnecks who could be trained by NASA in less than two weeks to go into space and destroy a killer asteroid but this is reality and when something smells like bullshit there is a 99.9 % chance that it IS bullshit.

The entire official story of 9/11 is one big lie but it is now a lie that like the assassination of President Kennedy will live on while any naysayers will be stigmatized and ghettoized in the predictable manner that "conspiracy theorists" are always treated by a corrupt state seeking to keep its skeletons in the closet with the doors nailed shut. What is now occurring is the death of the 9/11 Truth Movement, as the national wound that was ripped open on that Tuesday morning in 2001 begins to scab over there will be no tolerance for those who continue to pick at it. Already in the days after the big announcement there is a real chill in the air and the establishment is in all likelihood implement the Cass Sunstein plan to "cognitively infiltrate" groups that question the official government fairy tale of 9/11. Personalities who had previously done much good work in investigating 9/11, for example alternative media firebrand Alex Jones has essentially discredited himself through his willingness to feast upon the fruit of the poisoned tree that was the finally and hopefully permanently discredited Birther movement (which smelled like an Israeli black propaganda campaign from the get go) and as a result of this been immersed in a vat of horseshit. While playing fast and loose with themes friendly to the Council For National Policy like global warming denial and pandering to bigots for ratings by demonizing Meskins any of Jones' skepticism at the serendipitous death of bin Laden is easily mocked despite the legitimacy of such questions. There are others as well calling bullshit on the bin Laden murder and they will surely face immense difficulty and much scorn in pursuing this line of skepticism. My personal advice is that it just isn't worth it, there are too many other areas that are in more need of serious attention than wailing away at the tar baby that is Osama bin Laden. Again, where is the body? Why the changes of story? Why now? I defer to recent work by Paul Craig Roberts The Agendas Behind the bin Laden News Event and Russ Baker More Questions on bin Laden for provocative reading and unlike Alex Jones they have not self-immolated. 

This may sound like a cop out but as far as I am concerned an official admission that the man is dead works fine for me, whether it happened last weekend or nine years ago is at this point moot to me. In the end what is most important is that we are able to exit the bizarre, down the rabbit hole because it just may end up being a grave, parallel universe that we were catapulted into when the planes hit the building on September 11, 2001. That will have to suffice right now for nothing will ever have even the remotest chance of returning to a state of semi-normality or what is going to pass for that unless we are able to get some closure and an escape from the neocon Republican fear mongering that has mired us in unwinnable, bankrupting and immoral wars of occupation based on lies. Barring a real investigation into the 9/11 attacks, which by the way is NEVER going to happen, I personally think that it is best to just accept the official story of Osama bin Laden’s death as it has been put forth by the state and it’s organs. Face it, the story may have that now familiar rottenness about it but it’s just time to move on beyond the horrors of the last decade.

Let Them Eat War: Mr. Obama Joins the Club

The moment the first explosions rocked Libya I knew that Barack Obama had just locked down another four years in the White House. This was his initiation, his right of passage, just like laying in a mock coffin and sucking off upperclassmen in the Skull and Bones tomb. By definition every U.S. President is a war criminal and our very own proud owner of the Nobel Peace Prize finally has that most precious of things, a war that he can claim as his own. Not that Afghanistan and Iraq which continue to burn, bankrupt and morally pollute didn’t qualify Obama for the exalted title of war criminal in chief but they are really Bush’s wars, now the Pope of Hope has pissed his name into the snow. Of course there is all of the happy horseshit about the international seal of approval including that of the United Nations but ultimately is is more war for a nation that remains to become weary of such bloody and ultimately futile adventures. The national credit card was long ago maxed out on wars of choice, the monstrous sword of Damocles that is the national debt hangs over the heads of every American currently alive and whomever happens to be born here over the next fifty years but there is always more support for America's favorite pastime - killing brown people.  

Eight years to the day after the abortion that was George W. Bush dialed up the attack on Iraq Mr.Obama took time off from his NCAA tournament bracket and green-lighted the attack on the devil Col. Gadhafi who like the earlier version of the "New Hitler", Saddam Hussein is killing his own people. Now there is change that you can believe in! Never mind the blatant hypocrisy of not launching a similar attack in support of those seeking 'democracy' in Bahrain courtesy of our great friends in the House of Saud (the irony that 15 of the alleged 19 September 11th 'hijackers came from Saudi Arabia is lost on the American sheeple) seeking to preserve their tyrannical and corrupt regime. Now that the warfare state has become the preeminent power in America, only nosing out the genocidal Wall Street speculators whose taste for rotting flesh that they can pick for their daily sustenance and who right now are in an orgy of mania on the level of hardened pederasts as they rut with each other in the commodities pits placing futures bets on crude. The D.J.I.A. (Dick Jammed In Ass) was up 178 points today despite the lack of positive real economic news that benefits the ordinary fucked-over schmuck who is now left to contemplate the coming of five-dollar a gallon gasoline and has yet to get a handle on the accompanying hyper-spike in food prices that will follow like a category five blast of an economic hurricane after the initial tidal surge. In a bit of news that I find both somewhat encouraging for a bizarre reason and terrifying the first signs of violence and rage connected to double digit food inflation manifested itself at a San Antonio, Texas area Taco Bell where a customer named Ricardo Jones went batshit over a price hike on his bag of Beefy Crunch Burritos and engaged in a potentially deadly standoff with local police after he fired an assault rifle at police. Such incidents are to be expected in a culture where gun violence is revered but somehow it seems to be crossing a line when an extra 3.50 tacked onto a bag of burritos could lead to a Heat style shootout with the blue boys.

Think that Obama is going to save you from the rapacious looter capitalist flesh-eaters? Think again, not only is the Pope of Hope now a real live War President but he got the message from the 2010 elections that anything other than boot-licking obedience to the banksters, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce outsourcing pimps and the rest of the corporate pigs will not be tolerated. Look for Obama to assume the traditional position for commander in chief when it comes to the finance oligarchs, assume the position of footstool and don't ever think of fucking with them again and they will be very kind to his reelection campaign. Barry O. is assured of another term for his willingness to have all of America take a haircut so that the Wall Street casinos can have plenty of comp chips to gamble with. Not even Wall Street and the Chamber are insane enough to tolerate even in moments of amusement the possibility of a Sarah Palin presidency leaving the rapidly fading star of the scumbaggers to embark on some sort of world tour to pitch the virtues of entrenched American stupidity, gross ignorance and xenophobia, today's stop will be in Israel where she will do Wasilla style crack-ho style lapdances for Bibi Netanyahu who likely only is going to spare the time wasted in bothering with her out of some sense of honor among thieves and a gift to his most reliable fifth-columnist William Kristol. Hell, Bibi entertained Fred Fucking Thompson in the run-up to the 2007-2008 GOP primaries so maybe hosting Palin is for sheer entertainment value, it has to be more exciting than trying to converse with a cadaver like that marble-mouthed lug of a bad actor.

CRUISE MISSILE LIBERALS LOVE WAR TOO!

The most disgusting thing of all regarding Obama and his wars, both in terms of military ordnance dropped on civilians and the ongoing war on civil liberties at home is just how down with it all that the liberals are with it all. Liberals, especially liberal Democrats LOVE war, as long as it can be wrapped up in some sort of a self-righteous humanitarian guise.The Libyan adventure gives them one that they can line up and salute for. It has been a long and sad regression on the 'left' since Rahm Emanuel and the conniving Democrats were able to successfully ostracize the anti-war movement back in the run-up to the Pelosi-Reid majority in 2006. Not only was impeachment of the Bushreich war criminals off the table but the law was laid down that any such criticism of the wars was taboo. Afghanistan was embraced by the Democrats as 'the good war' while the Iraq debacle was chained to Bush's neck like an albatross. Cindy Sheehan was excommunicated after she served her purpose to the corrupt and cynical DLC/Corporatist Democrats, MoveOn.org was bitch-slapped after they dared to question the motivations of the great General Petraeus and the assemblage of sycophants and travelers the likes of Ariana Huffington, Cyber Stalin Markos Moulitsas Zuniga and their ilk all fell into line and for the sake of political (and lucrative career enhancing) expedience all learned how to just stop worrying and love the bomb. Obama was elected in a landslide, reneged on his implied promises to close Guantanamo Bay, restore accountability and the rule of law and draw the wars down and the useful idiots on the 'left' all got onboard. Whether it was the silence over matters that would have in years past had them screaming for Bush's head on a pike or a rethinking of antiwar stances to now make supporting the obviously neocon ginned up Iran Green Revolution or biting on the bait of Time Magazine's cover of the Afghan woman with her nose cut off (see above picture) the once pacifist 'left' became apologists for Obama's murderous actions. Even Code Pink renounced their principles and whored out to the war machine once their guy had the keys.

And today as the bombs and cruise missiles continue to rain down on Libya there is more of the same sort of fatheaded liberal apologists, whether it be the insipid Bill Press who is on Sirius/XM morning drive time radio with the daily DNC talking points or the windbag Juan Cole on Antiwar.com Radio the support for this latest filthy, anti-constitutional attack on a country that didn't do one goddamned thing to threaten America was as vomitous as it was definitive as to the true character of the state worshipping hypocrites that they are. Chris Hedges pegged the liberals dead on for the cheese-eaters that they have become, first in his savage and dead bang diatribe Liberals are Useless and later on in his book The Death of the Liberal Class. Hedges, who has come to be the moral voice of these most immoral and diseased of times hits it spot on again in his recent piece Power Concedes Nothing Without a Demand that speaks to the abject failure of American liberal institutions as they have been subverted with nary a whimper by a decades running coordinated and now unstoppable fascist/militarist element juggernaut:

The liberal class has busied itself with the toothless pursuits of inclusiveness, multiculturalism, identity politics and tolerance—a word Martin Luther King never used—and forgotten about justice. It naively sought to placate ideological and corporate forces bent on the destruction of the democratic state. The liberal class, like the misguided democrats in the former Yugoslavia or the hapless aristocrats in the Weimar Republic, invited the wolf into the henhouse. The liberal class forgot that, as Karl Popper wrote in “The Open Society and Its Enemies,” “If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them.”

Why is it that there is never any money to find socially beneficial programs, education, the rebuilding of a crumbling infrastructure, renewable energy programs or anything that is useful to actual human beings in America but there is always money for war? This speaks to a deep cancer in our society, our precious green and camouflage clad ‘heroes’ have been glorified through movies, television shows, print media, toys and video games that worship war. Ike knew what the hell he was taking about when he warned of the rise of the Military Industrial Complex and the accompanying costs to a society that at the time was filled with wonderful capability, economic and scientific advantage and a gold plated reputation coming out of World War II that was only beginning to be tarnished by the rise of the CIA, the brutal public murder of President Kennedy and the subsequent Vietnam War. Something went terribly awry in America around the time of the JFK killing and the same institutional elements behind that coup d'etat are still calling the shots. All else is subservient to the agenda of the American war machine,

As if any more confirmation that Obama was just a lightweight version of  Lyndon Baines Johnson without the social programs was needed the attack on Libya makes any more argument on that one moot. Mr. Obama was nowhere to be seen in Madison during the mass protests that none of the corporate media deemed worthy of coverage, choosing instead to focus on created news like a few dozen or so geriatrics, losers and deluded and easily duped freaks flying Gadsen flags and wearing those faggy Revolutionary War style wigs and tri-color hats descending on town hall meetings to vent their frustration at the mythical death panels that in real life reside inside insurance claims departments. He will however be seen pimping his manhood over the ongoing attacks on Libyan civilians. Hey, Bill Clinton bombed the shit out of Belgrade and contributed to the starvation and misery of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi children with his bombings and sanctions, cruelty that his own Secretary of State Madeline Albright went on 60 Minutes to obscenely justify as acceptable.

I have to agree with Chris Hedges, Liberals ARE Useless....take my word for it, I ran with the pack for long enough before I was shunned as a leper for daring to say the obvious that if it was wrong under Bush, then it is also wrong under Obama. But being excommunicated from the world of the dueling cults of the jackass and the elephant is just fine with me.

The corporate media on Sunday sought to play on both the gullibility, the emotions and the misplaced sense of patriotism of the public when launching this bullshit biscuit into the lemming feeding trough. Gadhafi said the strikes were a confrontation between the Libyan people and "the new Nazis," and promised "a long-drawn war."

"You have proven to the world that you are not civilized, that you are terrorists -- animals attacking a safe nation that did nothing against you," Gadhafi said in a televised speech.

The Colonel might just be onto something there. The Homeland (formerly the USA) is currently engaged in an endless series of wars of conquest, employs a blitzkrieg style of attack strategy (shock and awe) in the initial attacks of target countries, is currently engaging in a campaign of ruthless persecution of a religious minority (the anti-Muslim hysteria), runs a gulag of secret prisons and torture facilities, has a government that not only spies on ordinary citizens but encourages them to spy on each other and rat out disloyal or bad citizen type behavior, employs a kangaroo court justice system in which ordinary citizens can be brought up on vague charges (terrorism) or just disappeared (the stripping of Habeas Corpus) and disappeared. All of this is facilitated by a pack of vicious thugs who worship state power (teabaggers and Christian Zionists) and was set into motion by a modern day Reichstag Fire (9/11). Then there is that magnificently efficient system of state propaganda in the corporate media that Herr Goebbels would have been proud of. In Der Heimat versus Hitler’s Nazi regime though at least the trains ran on time and the German infrastructure was the advanced envy of the world, so much that Eisenhower modeled the intrastate highway system after it. Today, in 2011 the roads are pocked with automobile chewing potholes and other defective surfaces, the bridges are crumbling and even when the government tries to do something to shore it up and look to the future as in the national high-speed rail initiatives American Nazi apparatchik in waiting like Florida Governor Rick Scott turns town the money in order to nurture the hatred of his own personal S.A. the teabaggers. Make no mistake, with the coming wave of hyperinflation and dollar devaluation there is going to be plenty of opportunity for the real goons to assert themselves after Obama’s piss-warm and utterly feckless regime which has failed to change anything falls and then the pogroms will begin.

When taking into consideration the OSS/CIA (Wall Street’s enforcement arm) post-WW II assimilation of thousands of Nazis, including serious war criminals into the service of American finance capitalism under the guise of waging the Cold War it’s apparent that the Third Reich didn’t really lose the war, it just changed venues.
