Obama's Move Now as Glenn Greenwald Returns to US

As he had previously stated he would, investigative journalist Glenn Greenwald was going to force the issue and has now returned to the hallowed shores of The Homeland to accept his George Polk Award for his reporting on former government contractor turned NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden. Mr. Greenwald, formerly of The Guardian whose new venture for First Look Media "The Intercept" arrived in New York on Friday along with fellow Polk Award winner Laura Poitras who has also been instrumental in exposing the anti-American, anti-Constitutional rampage of Obama's NSA Stasi which is yet another indignity heaped upon Barry the Narcissistic. Obama must be furious, his Ukrainian coup d'etat fiasco is imploding as the Europeans are starting to get antsy that their gas supplies are going to be cut off as a result of occupying deadbeat regime in Kiev not paying it's bills and the hated Putin is once again about to humiliate our idiotic commander in chief on the world stage. The US government should start buying KY Jelly in bulk thanks to the exploits of the Obama-Kerry team of unrivaled morons. 

Obama may not have been able to best Putin in Ukraine but he sure as hell can take it out on the now former HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius for the indignity of the botched Obamacare rollout - so much for all of that demagogic horseshit from the Democrats about the "war on women". The buck never stops here in Obama's White House and while Sebelius will spend the next few days nursing the black and blue marks on her ass from being drop-kicked by her boss the appearance of Greenwald provides El Presidente with a dilemma.

Does Obama follow through on the demands of the authoritarian freaks, criminals in high places and outright fascists like House Intelligence Committee boss Mike Rogers, the strangely effeminate psychopathic former NSA/CIA boss Michael Hayden and the lunatic terrorist supporting Peter King, the pride of New York's 2nd Congressional District and have Greenwald arrested? It would be a way to show everyone who is really boss - being the Deep State/COG unelected rulers who are above Obama's pay grade that the man at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is serious but it would also reveal exactly what type of country that we really live in. Obama has likely been chafing at the bit to call for that JSOC assassination team or dialed up drone attack to extra-judicially murder Snowden and I personally suspect that a damned good part of his current reckless game of my dick is bigger than yours with Putin even at the risk of a nuclear war or even worse Russia and others dumping the dollar comes from the festering animosity over Putin's saving Snowden from being apprehended for torture, humiliation, a Stalinist style show trial and then execution and having to endure the Chinese water torture of the ongoing stories by Greenwald and Poitras exposing what Snowden took - and the best is yet to come.

So does Obama have Greenwald and maybe Poitras detained, harassed or arrested to avenge his damaged sense of self-esteem and whip out a shovel of bloody chunks of red meat to the fiends like Rogers and his ilk or does he for once practice some restraint. It is a damned good question because no matter how it is handled or justified anything that the US state does to Greenwald and/or Poitras (or David Miranda which would be a typical gangster move befitting a vengeful swine like Obama) would present Putin with the precious gift of being able to call out the rogue American state as exactly what is and what it spends all of it's time pretending not to be.

 Now is the time for the authoritarian scum in this country to put up or shut up. 

Deranged Peter King Accuses NY Times of Terrorist Appeasement

In an epic meltdown the crazed Peter King unloaded on the New York Times for daring to suggest that former government contractor Booz-Allen-Hamilton employee turned NSA leaker Edward Snowden be granted clemency. Long a target of the insane authoritarian demographic that has seized control of the Republican party and conducted a Stalinist style purge of the rational the Times has now become the target of the demagogues pushing to protect their beloved NSA surveillance apparatus. King appeared on Fox News (where else?) in the immediate aftermath of the Times OpEd to spew his rancid bile just as he does when he is conducting his neo-McCarthyist tribunals on taxpayer funds to promote anti-Muslim hatred and stir up fear in order for the surveillance state programs that his type need to go after their massive enemies list. Were King a patriotic American (which he is not) he would use his position as the Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security to investigate the enemies within the system that have been waging war on the constitution since September 11, 2001. This country will never fall to foreign enemy despite the hysterics from lunatics like King and his ilk about a Muslim fifth column and the implementation of Sharia Law but it will be eaten from within by the termites that are the fascist thugs and their pathological obsession for control of everything.

The catalogue of King’s fanatic ravings is already voluminous and the second congressional district out on Long Island should do the rest of the country a favor come November and vote this national disgrace of a politician out of office. He should have no problems finding some local beer hall from which to spew his venom from.  The following excerpt is from a story from the ‘Inside Baseball’ beltway website Politico and sums up King’s comments to the Foxosphere:

"Their editorial today and their whole pattern over the last several years, they’ve really made themselves a blame-America-first rag as far as I’m concerned, and why we exalt The New York Times is beyond me," the New York Republican said on Fox News. "They go out of their way to be apologists for terrorists and go after those in law enforcement and military who are trying to win this war."

King, who has long been a defender and proponent of the National Security Agency, called the editors "a disgrace" and said he wishes they "cared more about America than they did about the rights of terrorists' appeasers." King said NSA programs do not violate the privacy of Americans and that lives are saved because of them.

“And yet, The New York Times races to Mr. Snowden’s defense. They don’t care about American lives being lost," King said. "They have this narrow, liberal, left-wing ideological point of view. They did it to the NYPD; they’re trying to do it to the NSA."

"It’s time for Americans to stand up and reject The New York Times and expose them for the rag that they are."

People like this are the reason that Thorazine was invented.

King’s tirade even one upped washed up right-wing pundit Ann Coulter’s anti-NYT comment that “My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building”. Interestingly this sort of thinking seems to be quite pervasive with certain personality types to whose deviance only allows them to  recognize violence and repression as an answer to all problems, they actually have a good deal in common with real terrorists.  Peter King himself was for a long time an ardent supporter of actual terrorists, the provisional wing of the Irish Republican Army that murdered innocent women and children.

It could be said that the strongest argument yet to be made for dismantling the NSA programs are the figures who have come out in defense of them. Just as Snowden said, such systems would present a regime with even more contempt for the constitution than Obama or Bush-Cheney to use them for the worst purposes imaginable. Turnkey totalitarianism was the term that I believe that the now obviously patriotic whistleblower used and a man like Peter King were he to have the ability, particularly given his history of virulent anti-Muslim bigotry would relish combing through the data accumulated by the NSA to personally put together the pickup lists and begin the inquisitions.

Godwin’s Law be damned, the only way to truly describe Peter King is that the man is a full blown Nazi.

The Surveillance State Counter Offensive Begins

Given the immense amount of time, money and effort put forth into the construction of the infrastructure of the fascist surveillance state of the new American century along with the eradication of civil liberties it was inevitable that the big pushback was coming. A scant week and a half after the body blow delivered to the NSA Stasi by federal judge Richard Leon for “likely unconstitutional” and “Orwellian” domestic data-mining/spying programs the hydra has reconfigured. Today’s ruling by U.S. District Judge William Pauley in a New York court that the NSA programs are indeed constitutional has delivered a shot across the bow to those seeking to bring the tyrannical apparatus to heel and delivered a belated Christmas present to authoritarian defenders of the abuses of the state against individual rights. The ruling has already sent the treacherous enablers of the destruction of all privacy into jubilation, the porcine terrorist supporting neo-McCarthyist bigot Peter King praised Pauley, stating that his decision “preserves a vital weapon for the United States in our war against international terrorism”. Peals of festive holiday laughter will echo thoughout the lavish homes of vacationing elected officials particularly Mike Rogers and Dianne Feinstein because nothing quite delivers like a reprobate judge in a friendly venue. What Judge Pauley didn't bother to mention when rubber-stamping fascism with the 'terrorism' seal of approval is that none of the spying has ever been proven to have stopped even one terror plot but is very useful to the state when dissenters begin to be officially labeled as 'terrorists'.

The ruling smacked down an ACLU challenge to the anti-American domestic bulk data collection of the phone records of tens of millions of law abiding citizens whose constitutional rights ot not be subjected to unreaonable searches. Pauley played the 9/11 card beautifully in writing that “technology allowed al Qaeda to operate decentralized and plot international attacks remotely” and that the programs represented the “government’s counter-punch”. Sucker punch is more like it given that Americans have never been given any say so in the use of the ‘day that everything changed’ to steal their tax money and use it to pay billions of dollars to well-heeled contractors waving campaign donations at corrupt politicians to effectively pay for their own enslavement. Fittingly the ruling was delivered in Manhattan, the birthplace of the full blown fascist takeover of what used to be at least in theory a free country.

Sunday morning talk show bookers are likely frantically lining up their Sabbath day state propaganda forums with the usual defenders of this new order and the those same programs will serve as the launching pad for the coming smear campaigns, fear-mongering and official lies that will now be used to cement the surveillance systerms into place forever. Again, all of this is not any surprise for there are too many criminals in high places and far too much rottenness that would be exposed were the NSA programs brought under control and exposed to transparency. There had to have been much gnashing of the teeth earlier this week when former government contractor Booz-Allen employee turned whistleblower Edward Snowden effectively rubbed the noses of the usurpers into a big pile of shit with his “mission accomplished” statement then followed up by his response to the Queen of England’s Christmas address. Now it’s payback time.

At the tip of the spear will be the professional electronic hitmen, for example celebrity pundit, fascist activist and Harvard big shot Alan Dershowitz who appeared on CNN on Wednesday to viciously slime former Guardian journalist Glenn Greenwald in his typical cowardly and vile manner:

“As far as Greenwald is concerned, he’s an ideologue. I don’t think he would have revealed this information if it had been critical of Venezuela or Cuba or the Palestinian Authority. You know, he doesn’t like America. He doesn’t like Western democracies. He’s never met a terrorist he didn’t like. So he’s a very hard-left ideologue that uses this to serve his political agenda not simply to reveal information in a neutral way. That makes him very different from WikiLeaks, I think.”

A charlatan of the highest order Dershowitz despite his high public profile has little credibility which makes him a perfect regular on the state-corporate media whenever the need for character assassination beckons. It is rarely if ever noted that he is a media whore of an opportunist whose idea of legal integrity was to attach himself to the O.J. Simpson murder trial like a barnacle on the bottom of a garbage barge. It was a media circus that never lacked for clowns and the careers of long tenured cable television ‘legal experts’ are owed to “the Juice”. The references to leftism and being a “very hard left ideologue” are regular talking points directly from the fanatic infested neocon sewer in which the likes of David Horowitz, Pamela Gellar, James Kirchick, BIll Kristol and other propagandists deliver their jeremiads from via Commentary, Front Page Magazine and The Weekly Standard. The attack on Greenwald is a preemptive shot at the new media venture First Look Media, already high on the hit list for a lazy, venal and corrupt media establishment grown fat from suckling off of power. Dershowitz makes Geraldo Rivera look like a towering giant of journalism by comparison.

It would be interesting to know what ensured that Judge Pauley could be counted on to be the go to guy on this latest use of the Constitution as toilet paper but don’t count any serious analysis from the normal poisoned information channels while trashing Judge Leon’s competence and integrity are fair game. Just listen to Bush regime’s legal eagle on codifying torture John Yoo whose expertise has been trotted out for something outside of opining on whether the president has the right to crush a child’s testicles to smear Leon as "out of touch".

The attack dogs have now been loosed, have the scent of blood in their nostrils and hunt in packs.
