Cops Execute Yet Another Dog in Front of Owner

One of the more disturbing elements of the rise of the locked and loaded American police state is the ongoing killing of pets in front of their owners. With the militarizing of law enforcement and the impunity with which police now are allowed to operate, the death toll of dogs continues to mount. Family pets are being gunned down by government goons coated in black Kevlar so frequently that the practice has actually been given a formal name: "puppycide".

Hulking cops adorned with heavy body armor are more frequently turning their firepower on hapless four-legged targets. It is quite the force multiplier when a beloved small animal is blown into chunks of fur and bloody red meat in front of a terrified owner when only moments before the paramilitary goons arrived had considered the little critter to be a family member. Given the number of children who bear witness to "puppycide" there may even be bonus points awarded if a youngster is present. The execution of pets  is right up there with the actions of Nazi stormtroopers when it comes to sadistic cruelty and is indicative of a very dangerous individual who has been armed and empowered by the state. Often they are military veterans whose initial training was conducted for service in a foreign war zone.

Watchdog website Police State USA reports in a story entitled  "Family pet shot in the head by plainclothes cops searching at wrong address" details of the latest "puppycide" [warning:graphic image included].  I excerpt the following from the story:

Megan Shimburski, 25, was spending a quiet afternoon with her children at her parents’ countryside East Concord residence on July 25, 2014. It was a normal day, she said, which involved watching her 5-year-old daughter play behind the house with their dog, as her infant son lied in a playpen inside the house.

Ms. Shimburski’s parents, John Shimburski and Martha Spaulding, were not at home when the day turned to chaos.

At around 2:00 p.m., Ms. Shimburski recalled that she ducked inside the house for a moment to use the restroom. She became alerted to something occurring when the family’s two dogs began barking; one was inside and one was outside the house.

Ms. Shimburski said that she looked out the window and saw two vehicles parked outside — a car and an SUV — along with unidentified men, one of whom had a gun drawn.
Panicked, she rushed outside toward danger to attend to her daughter, Makenna, who was accompanied by “Lady,” a 2-year-old Brindle Pit Bull.

“I heard 2 shots fired, and Lady yelp, and my daughter scream,” Ms. Shimburski told Police State USA.

AND

Meanwhile Lady, described as a “67-pound big baby,” was hiding under the deck, covered in blood. A bullet had traveled through the tissue on her head, neck, and shoulder. A large, open gash allowed blood to pour down her face into her eyes and nose. It was a shocking sight for the family.
“The officer stated that he had just ‘grazed’ her, and that she would be fine,” Ms. Shimburski recalled. “I looked at him and said, ‘You did not graze her!!’ His words were, ‘I didn’t mean to GRAZE her.’”

The shooter — [later identified as Erie County Sheriff's Detective Greg McCarthy] — claimed he shot in self-defense because the dog was “charging and barking.” Ms. Shimburski says that he exaggerated the dog’s actions and the distance he was standing from her when he fired.  No one was bitten or in danger, she said, and the dog was coming from the back to the front of the house to investigate the strange visitors.

“My child could have been shot,” Ms. Shimburski said to Police State USA. “She now has the idea that these people who were there to protect people are bad people,” and added that she may need counseling. “I stated that not all cops are bad but at this point I don’t think she’s going to trust them.”

The kicker is that the cops were not even at the right address. As far as Ms. Shimburski's comments on the child not trusting the cops that really is not the objective behind "puppycide", it is to make it clear to the citizenry that cops are to be feared. Nothing quite sends that message like busting a cap or two into the family dog. This time it was the plain clothes dicks but often it is a SWAT team kicking down the door and using military style flash grenades. This is a very sick period in American history that we currently live in. This is particularly so with the societal worship of uniforms and authority, one can correctly say that it is nothing short of fascist.

This is by no means an attempt to denigrate or smear all police officers.  I would like to believe that the majority of cops  are decent folks tasked with doing an often violent, messy and thankless job. Typical police officers often encounter people during their worst moments and for the most part are dedicated professionals. The paramilitary types are the problem as well as the sanctioning of the state placed upon search and destroy style tactics of law enforcement better suited for battlefields than American cities.
When the federal government ensures that there is a constant flow of money and military grade equipment into tactical units of police departments it also ensures that a very specific type of police officer is attracted to these units. The violence and the contempt for the law, the sheer ability to dominate the helpless with impunity is what leads to the cruelty and the shoot first and ask questions later or better yet, a dead men tell no tales mentality.

There is really no way to stop this either, it has become embedded into our national DNA, our very own form of apple pie authoritarianism and it is only going to continue to get worse.

Vegas Shooters Provide Justification for Police Militarization

More details are coming out about the two would be revolutionaries who murdered two Las Vegas police officers in cold blood as they were eating lunch on Sunday at a pizza chain. The two perps, a charming couple named Jerad and Amanda Miller are being tabbed by authorities and the media as “extremists” and their history is chock full of right-wing ideology of the worst sort. These are not just libertarians concerned with the militarizing of the American police and gross transgressions of a rogue government but two obvious nut jobs who bought into too much of the same sort of agitprop that has been used to incite threats of violence against freed prisoner of war Bowe Bergdahl’s mother and father and his hometown of Hailey, Idaho which was forced to cancel a welcome home party due to the threat of a violent invasion by the same sort of deranged types as the Millers.
Reports have confirmed that the two left both a swastika emblem as well as a yellow Gadsden flag on the bodies of the slain officers  - Igor Soldo and Alyn Beck - and had come to see the police as oppressors and viewed law enforcement as fascism. That’s not too much of a reach in The Homeland where thanks to the federal government that local cops now more resemble soldiers in a war zone than peace officers. The two had bragged about attending the anti-government rally at the Cliven Bundy ranch in Nevada which was hyped by the usual pack of right-wing media and Republican political jackals who traffic in outrage and according to a Bundy relative they were run off as being too “radical”. The blog/website Little Green Footballs has several pictures that allegedly show Jared Miller at the ranch as well as of him being interviewed by a local television station. While it is not normally a place I would go on a regular basis for reliable information they have done a good job in compiling this stuff.
The activist talk radio host Alex Jones of Infowars.com is again being blamed for inciting an act of violence on police and a post that Jared Miller had written entitled “The Police (To Kill Or Not To Kill?)” has been published in the media. I have periodically listened to the Jones show over the years and long ago came to the conclusion that it is a front for the secretive ultra-conservative organization The Council For National Policy or CNP as well as the gun lobby and the John Birch Society but the actual host to my knowledge has never explicitly encouraged the killing of anybody let alone police officers. But it is the constant inflammatory rhetoric that incites troubled personalities to embark upon acts of violence such as what happened in Vegas over the weekend. I excerpt the following from Miller’s screed”
I believe in Gods law.  You know the ones.  Dont steal, dont murder, etc.  I fear that if they came, even with a warrant, that I feel they are being unlawfull and infringing upon my rights.  I feel that I have been violated and tread upon.  That the so called justice system has done me harm.  I do not wish to kill police.  I understand that most of them believe they are doing the right thing.  Yet, I will not go to jail, because I have not committed a crime!  I would rather die than be labeled as a criminal.  Let them call me a terrorist.  Let them label me as a fanatic, some nut job.  I know the truth, and so does God.  I’m sure our founding fathers were labeled as such.  Call me a radical, i will wear that badge with pride.  Because America is a radical idea!  Brought up upon radical thinking.  That each man has constitutional rights that are God given and cannot be taken away no matter what.  I refuse to stand by and let them dictate my life.  My family loves me, my neighbors love me.  I do good for the community, more than any cop can claim.  How can a police officer have a consience arresting people who have done nothing to harm a fellow american?  How can they sleep at night?  I wouldnt be able to.  So as i reflect, I’m being pushed further and further into a corner.  I am like a wild coyote.  You corner me, I will fight to the death.  I love America, i love the idea of it.  I am broken hearted tho to see people so pacified by materealism and obsession with hollywood stars.  It is our duty as American citizens to stand against tyranny.  To stand against corruption at all levels.  How did this happen?  That patriots like me could be resting under the boot of tyrants, and as i plead for help from my fellow americans they just walk on by.  All the while thinking, at least its not happening to me.  Yet, the sad thing is, it is happening to them.  So, do I kill cops and make a stand when they come to get me?  I would prefer to die than sit in their jail, when I have done nothing to hurt anyone.
While Jones’ bombastic style attracts the Jared Millers of the country and as it is so completely over the top that he is easily demonized – his website is now claiming that Batman has become the new Catcher in the Rye in seeking to defend the gun industry role in the ongoing wave of killings across the US as well as calling the killings a false flag – the real culprits are the accepted mainline “conservative” news organizations such as Fox and celebrity hosts such as Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck as well as the wave of cunning politicians seeking to cash in on anti-Obama paranoia. While I am a defender of the Second Amendment and a law-abiding gun owner it disgusts me to see the sort who have come to represent the right to bear arms – when your moral avatars are degenerate freaks like draft-dodging baby daddy Ted Nugent, a man who shit his pants at the draft board to avoid going to Nam so as to not confront something that actually shot back it is a problem. The plague of open carry laws, particularly in states like Georgia only serve to fuel the fantasies of the lunatic fringe like Miller and encourage them to buy more even more guns, booking profits for the gun manufacturers and their lobby the NRA and stripping Americans of their own Constitutional right not to end up being shot by one of these freaks.
While the Miller couple may have ambushed and executed those two police officers out of some twisted hope that their actions would trigger an uprising against what is in effect a heavily armed and truly dangerous police state in America they have only served to provide more justification for it.  In their desperate and ill-conceived rampage they have also done more damage to the Second Amendment rights of Americans that are constantly undermined by the actions of those who can only be called domestic terrorists. Sadly the criminals will become martyrs to a good many Americans despite their gift to the supporters of police militarization.

The Police State Strikes Back as Occupy Activist Hammered by Law

“If you're not a cop, you're "little people"
 -Captain Bryant
The hammer of the police state slammed down on the head of Cecily McMillan as if it were a sledge, convicting the Occupy Wall Street activist of assaulting a New York police officer. Not that the cop grabbed her breast during a protest, the men in black are the alpha level predators in the soft fascist (soft for now) place that is The Homeland. McMillan hit the cop in the face with an elbow, likely more of a reflexive action than anything else but it didn’t matter when it came time to feeding her into the big industrial meat grinder of the American injustice system. McMillan faces up to seven years in prison for her act where she will be in danger of being raped and beaten by other inmates, the pigs will probably even egg them on. She can probably consider herself lucky considering the less fortunate victims of our militarized police and their increasingly disconcerting view of the citizenry as the enemy.
According to a story in The Guardian that cites one of the jurors at expressing being shocked at the prison term that the "terrified" McMillan now faces:
McMillan’s attorney, Martin Stolar, argued in court that the video clip was not clear enough to prove anything. Afterwards, he blamed it for the conviction. “I think that is the only piece of evidence that a jury could hang its hat on,” he said. “On a quick glance without analysis, it looks like an assault. But it does not show what happened to Cecily.”
The juror confirmed Stolar’s fears. “For most of the jury, the video said it all,” the juror said. The juror said that an immediate vote after the 12 were sent out for deliberation found they were split 9-3 in favour of convicting. After everyone watched the clip again in the jury room, the juror said, two of the three hold-outs switched to the majority, leaving only the juror who approached the Guardian in favour of acquitting the 25-year-old. Sensing “a losing battle”, the juror agreed to join them in a unanimous verdict. “I’m very remorseful about it,” the juror said a few hours later, having learned of McMillan’s potential punishment.
Neither was the panel persuaded by McMillan’s account of suffering bruising to her chest from being grabbed and enduring a seizure after being forcefully arrested by Bovell and his colleagues. Ultimately, the 12 – including a former nurse who said during selection that she treated victims of police brutality during the Columbia University riots of 1968 – were unmoved by photographs of bruises and by testimony that McMillan was seen convulsing on the pavement. Medical notes from two hospital visits on the night of the incident were seen to support the state’s allegation that McMillan had invented her injuries, the juror said.
This is so illustrative of what has happened in American circa 2014 where vengeance reigns supreme over whatever vestiges remain of the law and any potential jury pool is tainted by the constant exposure to non-stop television and movie depictions that glorify police and particularly the cop that pushes the boundaries to overcome a system that is held back by such trivialities as due process, civil liberties and Constitutional rights. How much longer until we start having public executions as a spectacle for the masses? The increasing degree of violence practiced by the police as well as the focus of the judicial system on convictions combined with a nation of sheep who wallow in a dream of blissful ignorance until the day that they themselves are led to the steel chutes where the hammer of the law will fall upon their heads as well has set this once great country on a collision course with the inevitable fascism, some may see that it is already here only not omnipresent and omnipotent just yet.
I always read the work of John Rutherford of The Whitehead Institute when it comes to warnings of the police state and his latest piece which is entitled “Martial Law, Detention Camps and Kangaroo Courts: Are We Recreating the Third Reich?” is a must read from which I excerpt:
Despite what some may think, the Constitution is no magical incantation against government wrongdoing. Indeed, it’s only as effective as those who abide by it. However, without courts willing to uphold the Constitution’s provisions when government officials disregard it and a citizenry knowledgeable enough to be outraged when those provisions are undermined, it provides little to no protection against SWAT team raids, domestic surveillance, police shootings of unarmed citizens, indefinite detentions, and the like.
Unfortunately, the courts and the police have meshed in their thinking to such an extent that anything goes when it’s done in the name of national security, crime fighting and terrorism. Consequently, America no longer operates under a system of justice characterized by due process, an assumption of innocence, probable cause and clear prohibitions on government overreach and police abuse. Instead, our courts of justice have been transformed into courts of order, advocating for the government’s interests, rather than championing the rights of the citizenry, as enshrined in the Constitution.
Just recently, for example, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in U.S. v. Westhoven that driving too carefully, with a rigid posture, taking a scenic route, and having acne are sufficient reasons for a police officer to suspect you of doing something illegal, detain you, search your car, and arrest you—even if you’ve done nothing illegal to warrant the stop in the first place.
In that same vein, the U.S. Supreme Court declared in a 5-4 ruling in Navarette v. California that police officers can, under the guise of “reasonable suspicion,” stop cars and question drivers based solely on anonymous tips, no matter how dubious, and whether or not they themselves witnessed any troubling behavior.
And then you have the Supreme Court’s refusal to hear Hedges v. Obama, a legal challenge to the indefinite detention provision of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 (NDAA), thereby affirming that the President and the U.S. military can arrest and indefinitely detain individuals, including American citizens, based on a suspicion that they might be associated with or aiding terrorist organizations.
All three cases reflect a mindset in which the rule of law, the U.S. Constitution, once the map by which we navigated sometimes hostile terrain, has been unceremoniously booted out of the runaway car that is our government, driven over and left for road kill on the side of the road. All that can be seen in the rear view mirror are the tire marks on its ragged frame.
Mr. Whitehead in his piece goes on to elaborate on detention camps for American political dissidents as well as the similarities (although refined) to that most infamous historic regime in Germany but that is a story for another time, he has far too many valid observations to do them justice here without the benefit of a further discussion that does include US history as well. You can read his piece in its entirety here and please support his work at The Rutherford Institute, you don't have to agree with them on everything but they are spot on concerning the police state and deterioration of the American judicial system.
Few outside of those who run this system of oppression understand just how far that we have now departed from our once cherished Constitutional values which have now become nothing more than punchlines for comics and fodder for those who run the machine to denigrate critics. Each and every day brings another outrage but to those who are still sleeping blissfully within their cocoons of willful ignorance they continue their hero worship of the cops and pay lip service to that quaint and long gone system of "checks and balances"
George W. Bush may have referred to The Constitution as a "goddamned piece of paper" but Barack Obama is the one who has wiped his ass with it.

In Kiev a Glimpse of Our Future

Do you want to see a vision of what awaits in The Homeland once the collapse can no longer be put off by 85 billion dollar infusions into the big banks? The day that the chickens come home to roost once and for all, when the Federal Reserve ‘heroin’ injections no longer work, the ATMs and debit cards stop functioning  and millions of Americans suddenly are forced to realize that the just in time inventory system never took into account an adequate supply of food stocks it will be brutal. We have already seen the true character of a good many Americans bared for all to see with the Thanksgiving Day-Black Friday melees over cheap foreign made junk now just imagine the same mobs in the streets looking for food. It will be as ugly as it has been predictable and the full power of the militarized police state will be brought to bear.
Cast your eyes to Ukraine, formerly Soviet controlled where the streets were filled with protesters after President Viktor Yanukovych's refusal to sign a deal bolstering EU ties in favor of a rapprochement with Russia ignited public outrage and sent throngs of Ukranians  out to protest the government. Over the weekend a statue of Vladimir Lenin was pulled down and destroyed with sledgehammers and other instruments , it was an escalation that would not be tolerated and the state, as all do when threatened responded with raw brutality and power.

Overnight on what was reportedly the coldest day of the winter, hordes of Darth Vader clad paramilitary police stormed protest camps, cracking skulls and wielding chainsaws to dismantle dissenter camps and crush the uprising. According to this story from The Guardian:

As temperatures fell to -13C (-55F) during the coldest night of the winter to date, columns of riot police closed in on Independence Square, hub of the protests that erupted after President Viktor Yanukovych pulled out of an association pact with the EU that had been due for signing at a summit in Vilnius last month. Shortly after 1am battalions of police approached the vast square from all sides and began to dismantle the makeshift barricades that have been erected in recent days.

Ukraine's prime minister, Mykola Azarov, said later on Wednesday the operation by police was a question of clearing the roads. "No force will be applied against peaceful protesters. Do you understand this? Calm down!" he said as he opened a government meeting.

Police pulled out of the square on Wednesday morning, even as more protesters arrived. America's deputy secretary of state, Victoria Nuland, visited the square and handed out biscuits to protesters.
Several police officers confirmed they had been given orders to clear barricades from the boundaries of the square but not remove the tent camp that has sprung up inside the space.

The fiercest battle came on the north side of the square, where hundreds of black-helmeted riot police struggled for several hours against lines of protesters wearing orange helmets distributed by organisers, in scenes that threatened to descend into all-out pitched battle.

The police action has already been roundly denounced by global leaders including our own Secretary of Skull and Bones John Kerry, a bloviating ass of a pontificating windbag with perpetual diarrhea of the mouth and a sterling example of the Obama administration's wanton hypocrisy as he expressed U.S.

“disgust with the decision of Ukrainian authorities to meet the peaceful protest ... with riot police, bulldozers, and batons, rather than with respect for democratic rights and human dignity...This response is neither acceptable nor does it befit a democracy”

Lofty rhetoric indeed considering the Obama administration's ruthless crackdown on the Occupy movement, ongoing contempt toward any concept of "democracy", NSA surveillance apparatus, fiendish Justice Department, militarizing of the police and war on journalists. What is going on in Kiev is exactly what politicians like Obama and Kerry love, having the opportunity to hypocritically wag their finger at other countries for engaging in exactly the same thing that they themselves are guilty of. There has been no mass crackdown on Homeland soil YET but rest assured it is coming. Just look to Boston in April as an example of a drill to prepare for what is coming, half of the city was placed under a state of martial law to chase down one pathetic punk. The streets were filled with armored vehicles and paramilitary goon squads went door to door and conducted warrantless searches and in the worst possible example of a post 9/11 version of what has become of the American character Bostonians actually fucking celebrated it. The Constitution has already been pretty much rendered obsolete by thirteen years of Bush-Cheney-Obama fascism and all that stands between a domestic crackdown along the lines of Kiev last night is a matter of a simple phone call.

Cops and Little People

In an early scene from the classic dystopian film Blade Runner police Captain Bryant makes the retired cop Rick Deckard, an offer he can’t refuse in order to lure him back into the fold. Deckard appears to ponder it, tosses off the shot of whiskey that he had been poured and gets up. As he turns to leave, stating that he has had enough Bryant angrily raises his voice barking  “Stop right were you are! You know the score, pal! If you’re not a cop you’re little people”. Fully understanding the gravity of Bryant’s words Deckard warily accepts his return to active duty as a replicant killer for one last job. It has come down to a few very basic but pitch black truths in our militarized fascist police state of the post 9/11 ruins of democracy - there are stark dividing lines between that haves and the have nots, there are elitists and peasants, victors and victims, vampires and cattle and most importantly of all cops and little people.

Each day there are tales of an increasing level of violence and malevolence amongst many of the nation’s police. Innocent people are gunned down out of haste, mistakes or just the raw power that possessing a badge and an itchy trigger finger brings to certain personality types, a good many of which are turning to police work. Ever more heavily armed cops have been unleashed by a society steeped in a culture of war and violence, in many areas the local police more resemble something that would normally be seen in a war zone than on the streets of an allegedly “free” country. The most recent police state murder to receive widespread media coverage is the unfortunate case of Miriam Care the 34 year old woman who for whatever reason became involved in a Washington D.C. car chase at the culmination of which she was gunned down while still in her vehicle by Capitol police, a child in the backseat. While there were stories in the state media insinuating that Carey had mental health issues it has come to this in The Homeland – the police are far too often acting as judge, jury and executioner. There are thousands summarily executed by police in this country who never get the media coverage that Carey did, it is a silent plague and the dark underbelly of the NSA surveillance state.

The September 11, 2001 attacks provided blanket justification to a future of wars, spying, secret courts, torture and most of all a brutal, paramilitary police presence. While the attacks themselves provided the impetus the police state would not be possible without cultural acceptance. Decades of movies and television programs have cemented into the consciousness a reverence bordering of worship of the police while the police have subsequently become armed to the teeth and transformed into paramilitary forces. This began with advent of SWAT teams late in the last century and now even Dogpatch USA probably receives war zone grade equipment from the government for their local cops.  Libertarian Radley Balko, author of Rise of the Warrior Cop writes in his article A Decade After 9/11, Police Departments are Increasingly Militarized that:

Over the last several decades Congress and administrations from both parties have continued to carve holes in that law, or at least find ways around it, mostly in the name of the drug war. And while the policies noted above established new ways to involve the military in domestic policing, the much more widespread and problematic trend has been to make our domestic police departments more like the military.

The main culprit was a 1994 law authorizing the Pentagon to donate surplus military equipment to local police departments. In the 17 years since, literally millions of pieces of equipment designed for use on a foreign battlefield have been handed over for use on U.S. streets, against U.S. citizens. Another law passed in 1997 further streamlined the process. As National Journal reported in 2000, in the first three years after the 1994 law alone, the Pentagon distributed 3,800 M-16s, 2,185 M-14s, 73 grenade launchers, and 112 armored personnel carriers to civilian police agencies across America. Domestic police agencies also got bayonets, tanks, helicopters and even airplanes.

AND

The September 11 attacks provided a new and seemingly urgent justification for further militarization of America's police departments: the need to protect the country from terrorism.
Within months of the attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Center, the Office of National Drug Control Policy began laying the groundwork with a series of ads (featured most prominently during the 2002 Super Bowl) tying recreational drug use to support for terrorism. Terrorism became the new reason to arm American cops as if they were soldiers, but drug offenders would still be their primary targets.

In 2004, for example, law enforcement officials in the New York counties of Oswego and Cayuga defended their new SWAT teams as a necessary precaution in a post–September 11 world. “We’re in a new era, a new time," here,” one sheriff told the Syracuse Post Standard. “The bad guys are a little different than they used to be, so we’re just trying to keep up with the needs for today and hope we never have to use it.” The same sheriff said later in the same article that he'd use his new SWAT team “for a lot of other purposes, too ... just a multitude of other things." In 2002, the seven police officers who serve the town of Jasper, Florida -- which had all of 2,000 people and hadn’t had a murder in more than a decade -- were each given a military-grade M-16 machine gun from the Pentagon transfer program, leading one Florida paper to run the headline, “Three Stoplights, Seven M-16s.”

Do you want to see the future of America? Think Boston in the day that half the city was placed under a state of de-facto martial law to chase down one deranged punk after the Boston Marathon bombing. The culture of acceptance of what should have been a shameful pox on the city’s history for the surrender to paramilitary forces has actually become not only acceptable but is honored. Note that after the Boston Red Sox won the World Series on Wednesday night that celebrations included fans gathering at the Boston Marathon finish line with some kissing the street. It was as though the championship of the local baseball team provided vindication to the massive lockdown and manhunt. This is a very frightening example of the degree to which martial law tactics have become commonplace in 2013 America. If he were brought to the scene that night Dzhokhar Tsarnaev would have been torn limb from limb in a drunken orgy of blood vengeance. The media of course pushes the narrative, that the Red Sox title has cleansed the city of the stigma of the bombing and put the stamp of approval on the tactics, the likes of which will become more commonplace as the economic deterioration accelerates leading to acts of desperation by a beggared populace. It is as the fascistic Orwellian term puts it – the new normal.

An even more distressing trend with the uptick in militarization and violence among police is the growing number of pet assassinations. Hulking cops adorned with heavy body armor are more frequently turning their firepower on hapless pets. It is quite the force multiplier when a beloved small animal is blown into chunks of fur and bloody fresh red meat in front of a terrified owner (bonus points for the cops who are able to pull this one off in front of children) who only moments before the paramilitary goons arrived had considered the little critter to be a family member. This is right up there with the actions of a stormtrooper when it comes to sadistic wanton cruelty and is indicative of a very dangerous and deeply disturbed individual armed and empowered by the state.

This is by no means an attempt to denigrate or smear all police officers , I would like to believe that the majority of them are decent men and women doing an often messy, thankless and at times brutal but still necessary job. The typical police officers often encounter people during their worst moments and for the most part are dedicated professionals. The paramilitary types are what I write of and the sanctioning of the state placed upon search and destroy style tactics of law enforcement better suited for battlefields than American cities. When the federal government ensures that there is a constant flow of money and military grade equipment into tactical units of police departments it also ensures that a very specific type of police officer is attracted to these units. The violence and the contempt for the law, the sheer ability to dominate the helpless with impunity is what leads to the cruelty and the shoot first and ask questions later or better yet, dead men tell no tales mentality.

There is really no way to stop this either, it has become embedded into our national DNA, our very own form of apple pie authoritarianism.

Obama Embraces Fear as the Coin of the Realm

Quite an experience to live in fear, isn't it? That's what it is to be a slave.

-Roy Batty

Under fire for his NSA Stasi’s trolling and compiling of the phone and internet records of law-abiding Americans and smarting over being humiliated by Russia’s granting of asylum to Edward Snowden, El Presidente reached into his predecessor’s playbook and played the fear card. Since September 11, 2001 hyping the threat of terrorism has been the most kick ass club in the bag. The Obama regime for the most part has largely refrained from using it until this week. With the administration seething over being rebuked by Russia after weeks of bullying it was finally time to bring the back the invocation of the threat of the other as a distraction and to justify the unconstitutional mass surveillance programs.

The state media has been in rare form the last two days, hyping an imminent threat to American citizens abroad due to a reputed threat from Al-Qaeda. Excuse me if this all sets off my overly sensitive personal B.S. detector. After all, I do remember the years when the Bush administration was riding tall the saddle, largely because they knew full well that in post 9/11 America that FEAR had become the coin of the realm. Unlike most TV addled and forgetful Americans I remember with crystal clarity the multi-colored terror alert charts that Tom Ridge would trot out whenever the Bush-Cheney junta needed political cover. Ridge to his credit came out and admitted that the threat levels were manipulated for political purposes but the color coded alert system became an albatross and was eventually discarded. Now that Obama’s insipid regime is cornered like rats it is no surprise that they are now going to the well by conjuring up the Muslim bogeyman.

The fear-mongering of which I refer to is the hysteria over an Al-Qaeda overseas threat to Americans issued by Obama’s State Department. Not that crazy things do not happen, when you are an empire, occupying countries, supporting torturers and murders and murdering innocent civilians with bombs and drones people tend to become upset and fight back. The definition of terrorism has become so skewed so as to become virtually meaningless in the 21st Century United States of Orwell. Guerrilla warfare or attacks by those with no power against foreign symbols and institutions in lands being colonized by corporations, using the U.S. military as their henchmen and ruthless private mercenaries for the real wet work are common. In fact this has been the norm rather than the exception throughout history. The technical term for such incidents is blowback and it is insane or stupid to not believe that becoming oppressors of people in foreign lands for the sake of plundering their natural resources, installing hand-picked despots as their leaders and keeping the money rolling in for the defense industry will not result in blows against the empire. Terrorism is more of a political term, it worked like a dream for Hitler as his enemies were slaughtered, imprisoned and worse and it worked like a dream for Bush and Cheney in launching their ruinous adventures in Iraq and Afghanistan, wars of choice that have done more to bankrupt this once great country than anything else and Obama and the establishment are practically wetting their pants to go into Syria and if crazed Senator Lindsey Graham gets his way Iran.

The establishment is putting a lot into this weekend's alert, closing many U.S. embassies on Sunday and hoping for violence that would serve up some breathing room on the calls for reigning in the NSA. I suspect that something will happen too, such is the pattern of serendipity when the imperial police state has a need to justify further crackdowns on civil liberties. Now there is the insertion into the narrative of impending doom of the fanatical  Peter King, the porcine anti-Muslim bigot who on Friday stated:

“We’re not certain exactly where something might happen but it’s very specific as to when and it’s also very specific as to the fact that it is going to happen, so we have to be on alert everywhere”
King, who should be an expert on real terrorists given his ardent support for the civilian murdering IRA will undoubtedly show up on at least one of the Sunday morning masturbatory fests to defend Obama's NSA and to call for further restrictions on American freedoms. With a bit of luck he can even gather up another of his anti-Muslim inquisitions where he will whore himself out to the media and set more precedent for such kangaroo courts when it becomes policy to start hauling other Americans in front of them as well.

But I digress...

The very definition of "terrorist" has been deliberately rendered vague here in Der Homeland, prior to this week there has been an ongoing effort to begin to shift the threat of surveillance justifying 'terrorism' inward. I reference this very recent story about Michele Catalano, a Long Island woman whose home was stormed by government goons after unconstitutional spying on her household's internet activity found that she was looking up information on a pressure cooker. Her son was using the internet to research the Boston Marathon bombings and her husband was looking for a backpack. This is absolutely true and is yet more evidence of how out of control Obama's Stasi is. I excerpt the following from the story via The Guardian:

I felt a sense of creeping dread take over. What else had I looked up? What kind of searches did I do that alone seemed innocent enough but put together could make someone suspicious? Were they judging me because my house was a mess (Oh my god, the joint terrorism task force was in my house and there were dirty dishes in my sink!). Mostly I felt a great sense of anxiety. This is where we are at. Where you have no expectation of privacy. Where trying to learn how to cook some lentils could possibly land you on a watch list. Where you have to watch every little thing you do because someone else is watching every little thing you do.
All I know is if I'm going to buy a pressure cooker in the near future, I'm not doing it online.
I'm scared. And not of the right things.
I myself must wonder whether a paramilitary goon squad is going to visit me now that I have done queries on pressure cookers, terrorism and other red-flag terms while writing this today, in this sorry husk of what used to be a free country anything is possible anymore. With the bar now lowered so as to turn even such normal behavior as the Catalano family doing web searches for household cooking items into suspected 'terrorist' activity what can't be considered as such? The entire system is being tweaked so as to allow for the future roundup of Americans whose data will be stored in that massive NSA facility in Utah. We already know that there exists the capability to do three-hop queries and that there are indeed plans in place to abduct and detain American citizens. This will likely happen when the big collapse comes, the economic collapse that has been so deftly covered up and put off by Obama's financial alchemists and state media propagandists and is a ticking time bomb that could detonate at any time  It is simply unsustainable and when it blows it is going to be a society killer.

It could be two days, two months or two years but the day to pay the piper is coming and it won't be the culprits who will have to shell out their pound of flesh.
