Ultimatum of the Finger Wagger: Kerry Again Threatens Russia

Secretary of State John Kerry, the epitome of the ugly American is once again wagging his finger in the face of Russia and President Vladimir Putin. According to Reuters, the top Skull and Bones alum over at Foggy Bottom has ordered Putin to immediately disarm anti-austerity, anti-fascist freedom fighters in Eastern Ukraine. Currently engaged in more plotting with his EU counterparts in Brussels to complete the absorption of Ukraine into the EU and later NATO, the buffoon that is the American top diplomat continues to push the envelope. The Obama regime's ongoing reckless actions towards Russia endanger the lives of billions and if just one hot-headed idiot decides to unleash a tactical nuke or two in a burst of the emotion that is being nurtured by their bellicosity it could bring doom on a global scale. This incredibly stupid personal vendetta by Kerry and Obama and their cadre of neocon fanatics is not going to end well for any of us and the only ones who are unable to see it are those with the ability to stop it.

The Reuters Story, entitled "Kerry tells Russia to disarm Ukraine separatists 'in hours'" states that:

Washington and other Western powers have stepped up pressure on Russia to take concrete action to defuse the conflict in eastern Ukraine, where a ceasefire between Russian-speaking rebels and government forces has appeared to be crumbling.

"We are in full agreement that it is critical for Russia to show in the next hours, literally, that they're moving to help disarm the separatists, to encourage them to disarm, to call on them to lay down their weapons and to begin to become part of a legitimate process," Kerry told reporters in Paris.

He added that EU leaders would discuss possible sanctions on Russia at their summit in Belgium on Friday.

Washington has said it also has new sanctions ready to go, but Kerry said the United States would prefer not to be in "sanctions mode" and wanted Russia to take action without pressure.

"We would like to see a cooperative effort between the United States, Europe and Russia and the Ukrainians," Kerry added.

Separatist rebellions erupted in eastern Ukraine in early April after street protests in Kiev toppled Moscow-backed leader Viktor Yanukovich, and Russia in turn annexed the Crimean peninsula. Eastern rebels have called for union with Russia. Moscow denies Western accusations that it has allowed fighters to cross into Ukraine along with heavy weapons to confront Ukrainian government forces.

The proposed next round of U.S. and EU sanctions would target Russia's financial, defense and high-tech industries, said U.S. officials.

Could the act of war that is the launching "financial neutron bomb" be coming soon? Pay no mind that Putin just acted to deescalate the situation by requesting parliament revoke his authorization to use military force in Ukraine and is continuing to be the the only rational party involved in this mess. It wasn't Putin who started it, that is unless you go back to last summer when he intervened to prevent the imminent US massive air attack on Damascus bringing both Obama and Kerry much embarrassment and then there is that Snowden asylum thing too. The propaganda machine is already spinning Putin's move as just another one of this devilish acts of trickery while the new Cold War and all of the trillions of dollars that it would generate in profits to the death industry gets ever closer.

Americans have no idea whatsoever of the reality in Ukraine, the state-corporate media has covered up this gross violation of international law from the onset. There was the fomenting of unrest by organizations like the National Endowment for Democracy to turn out the protesters in the streets of Kiev against legitimately elected president at the time Viktor Yanukovych and the subsequent infiltration and hijacking of the protests by bloodthirsty neo-Nazi thugs who were able to introduce violence. Senator John McCain, a psychopath and by the way that he is treated by the media, the de facto US President was photographed in Kiev palling around with neo-Nazis right before the sh*t hit the fan. Then there was that still mysterious killing of both police and protesters by snipers that ignited the smoldering powder keg and led to the ouster of Yanukovych along with the installation of a US backed puppet regime lead by former central banker Arseniy Yatsenyuk or "Yats" as he is affectionately known by former Dick Cheney aide and current Assistant US Secretary of State Victoria "f*ck the EU" Nuland. She is also the woman who handed out cookies to anti-government protesters in Kiev in a public relations exercise and boasted to US corporate interests about the $5 billion dollars of American taxpayer money that has been funneled into Ukraine over the years to ensure that the country would be safe for corporate plunder when the time came.

The best laid plans to surprise Putin with the Ukraine coup d'etat being executed while he was occupied with the Sochi Winter Olympics naturally weren't without failures. Really, anything that the neocons touch as a result of their lunatic dreams of global conquest carry within it the seeds of their own destruction and Ukraine is the latest example. There was Putin's initial request to use military force in Ukraine and then the lightning fast secession of Crimea along with the subsequent vote to join Russia along with the official annexation. This was an unforgivable transgression despite the fact that Crimea always was a part of Russia until Nikita Kruschev (legend has it he was drunk at the time) gave it away in 1954. The corporate forces that were ready to pillage and loot with impunity after the installation of "Yats" were furious as were the neocon geniuses whose prized target - the Russian naval base at Sevastopol was snatched from their claws immediately. The puppet government struck back and into the east went the goons and neo-Nazi militias to commit their heinous atrocities such as the murderous and barbaric acts at the Odessa trade union building which has for all intents and purposes been flushed down the memory hole. Christ know that we can't tell Americans the truth that their government is now on the side of the same Nazi scum that their fathers and grandfathers risked all to defeat in World War II.

The people in the east, knowing from history the full potential of the horrors wrought by Nazi ideology unleashed did what they could do - they fought back and are holding their own to this day despite the US-EU-NATO Axis of Aggression sanctioned use of they military on civilians - including the use of incendiary munitions such as the ones used in Gazaand Fallujah. Ukraine has a new puppet leader, a corrupt oligarch installed to much hoopla in a bogus election named Petro Poroshenko aka "the Chocolate King" and early indications show that he is hellbent on doing the bidding of the US power structure in crushing the uprising in the east under that evil and ubiquitous justification of fighting "terrorists" - which is coming very soon to America.

Poroshenko is eager to please his western masters and after formalizing the deal with the devil for the Ukranian people that is the EU austerity agreement his is upping his rhetoric towards Putin. According to The Guardian in a story entitled "Ukraine president accuses Russia of doing nothing to end 'disastrous' war" the Chocolate King was providing the cover for the coming round of sanctions in the Obama regime's ongoing provocations of Russia. I excerpt the following:

Speaking in Brussels, Poroshenko stated bluntly that the rebels were under the control of Vladimir Putin's Kremlin. "I think now Russia has done nothing," he said. "We are talking of Russian citizens, Russian officers, Russians by origin, Russian soldiers of fortune." He characterised the Kremlin's strategy in Ukraine as "not very pragmatic" and "very emotional".

AND

Asked if Ukraine would get Crimea back during his presidential term, Poroshenko smiled and said: "Yes"

It was more of the same vintage Russia-baiting as that recent absurd accusation from NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen that the Putin government was secretly working in close coordination with European environmentalists in fighting the "fracking" industry. From The Guardian story "Russia 'secretly working with environmentalists to oppose fracking'":

The head of one of the world's leading groups of democratic nations has accused Russia of undermining projects using hydraulic fracturing technology in Europe.

Anders Fogh Rasmussen, secretary-general of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato), and former premier of Denmark, told the Chatham House thinktank in London on Thursday that Vladimir Putin's government was behind attempts to discredit fracking, according to reports.

Rasmussen said: "I have met allies who can report that Russia, as part of their sophisticated information and disinformation operations, engaged actively with so-called non-governmental organisations - environmental organisations working against shale gas - to maintain European dependence on imported Russian gas."

It was something straight out of the John Birch Society Blue Book and yet here is the leader of NATO hurling about a dangerous and baseless charge that could have dire ramifications in the United States where the fight against the destructive practice of "fracking" is facing growing opposition. Given the actions of the NSA and the constitutional wrecking crew of both the Obama and Bush administrations it is not much of a reach to believe that US domestic activists are already being subjected to surveillance and cases are already being built against them. it is a certainty that these are exactly the targets that the NSA is really going after and this will likely be exposed once Snowden's list is revealed. They will have good company too in that antiwar activists and bloggers and independent media writers who dare to question the corrupt system that now dominates politics in The Homeland are going to be on it too.

The runaway train that is hurtling towards a hideous endgame over Ukraine that will likely result in World War III continues to pick up speed, Poroshenko's demagoguery and the predictable reaction by Russian political figures who have again been stabbed in the back by the west continue to jack up the tensions. Not that Putin adviser Sergei Glazyev was wrong when he called the new boss in Kiev "a Nazi" for the recently inked austerity deal as reported by The Guardian:

Sergei Glazyev, an adviser to Putin, told the BBC before the signing that "Europe is trying to push Ukraine to sign this agreement by force" and said Petro Poroshenko, the president, lacked the legitimacy to make the deal.

"They organised [a] military coup in Ukraine; they helped Nazis to come to power. This Nazi government is bombing the largest region in Ukraine." He said he "of course" believed the Ukrainian president was a Nazi.

Not that you will read about that in the US state-corporate media, at least not in anything even resembling the actual context but his is correct - the coming carnage in the east is going to make that slaughter at the Odessa trade union building look like a picnic. The real way that the Kiev junta think about their Russian speaking countrymen has been made obvious by not only the murderous actions of rampaging neo-Nazi militias but also by Yatsenyuk himself when he slipped up about two weeks ago and referred to the anti-austerity fighters as "subhumans" or as the many in Ukraine who cling to the legend of their hero, Nazi-collaborator and mass-murderer Stepan Bandera would describe them - untermensch.

But Kerry continues to pontificate, threaten and wave that damned finger of his as though this country still has that most priceless commodity that is the moral high ground - only the rubes, drunk on their star-spangled fat asses off of the toxic elixir of "American exceptionalism" as preached by snake oil salesmen like Obama believe that garbage - because when you throw in with the admirers of the twentieth century's greatest criminals the Nazis, it has been ceded forever.

US Backed Fascist Thugs Unleashed in Ukraine

With the American minds now fully inundated with anti-Russian propaganda and lies as to the composition of the US backed coup government in Ukraine the time has finally come to unleash the goons. After weeks of threats, military buildups and visitations by high US officials to the neo-Nazi/fascist backed "Yats" regime all hell broke loose on Friday. The point of no return - if not already crossed by the duplicity of the US-EU-NATO triad was reached when the occupying government in Kiev sent forth military helicopters against civilians and extremist shock troops began a pogrom in the city of Odessa. Now it is on like Donkey Kong!

It is another of those sick ironies that plague this country, especially since the September 11, 2001 attacks allowed for the Deep State to give birth to The Homeland that German Chancellor Angela Merkel appeared with Barack Obama at the White House to bash Russia hours before fascist thugs burned down a trade union hall and roasted orasphyxiatedeveryone inside. Merkel incidentally holds the same gig as a certain German leader did the last time that things like this happened. Obama as yet has not condemned the violence - after all, the USA, USA, USA is on the same side as the neo-Nazis and fascists this time.

As for those murdered by Kiev's illegitimately installed government in Odessa there is zero remorse coming from Obama and Kerry today - it's rare to see this level of callous indifference when brown-skinned non-Christians are not involved. In fact Kerry, like the finger-wagging, overbearing horse's ass that he is launched into yet another diatribe blaming Russia and issuing even more threats. According to a story in The Guardian:

Kerry said it was important Russia withdrew support for such separatists, who have seized government buildings in about a dozen cities and towns in Ukraine, and raised the prospect of additional Western sanctions if there were indications of continued interference by Russia.

Kerry also said he and Lavrov discussed the violence in Odessa, where at least 42 people died on Friday.

"All of this violence is absolutely unacceptable,” Kerry said, “and Russia, the United States, Ukrainians, Europeans, the OSCE all of us bear responsibility to do everything in our power to reduce the capacity of militants and extremists who are armed to be carrying out these terrorist and violent activities.

“They must end, and everybody with any influence on any party has an obligation to try to bring an end to this violence.”

But Kerry lies in that "everybody" doesn't include the US-EU-NATO Axis of Aggression. Emperor Obama won't call off his neo-Nazis nor the Contra style death squads that will be stocked with drooling members of Pravy Sektor and other fascist groups to conduct their counter-insurgency sprees of murder, rape and torture. There is only one way for this to end without consequences of a history altering manner and that is for Putin to surrender and crawl on his belly to lick Obama's boots. That ain't going to happen so we are now heading towards something that will end in misery for all involved. I regularly read the great work of former Reagan administration Assistant Secretary of Treasury, former Wall Street Journal editor and economist Paul Craig Roberts who has long been predicting doom for this system, it has taken a little bit more time to get here but now we find ourselves being force marched to the gates of Hell itself. In his latest piece which is entitled "Washington Intends Russia's Demise" Dr. Roberts writes:

Washington has no intention of allowing the crisis in Ukraine to be resolved. Having failed to seize the country and evict Russia from its Black Sea naval base, Washington sees new opportunities in the crisis.

One is to restart the Cold War by forcing the Russian government to occupy the Russian-speaking areas of present day Ukraine where protesters are objecting to the stooge anti-Russian government installed in Kiev by the American coup. These areas of Ukraine are former constituent parts of Russia herself. They were attached to Ukraine by Soviet leaders in the 20th century when both Ukraine and Russia were part of the same country, the USSR.

Essentially, the protesters have established independent governments in the cities. The police and military units sent to suppress the protesters, called “terrorists” in the American fashion, for the most part have until now defected to the protesters.

With Obama’s incompetent White House and State Department having botched Washington’s takeover of Ukraine, Washington has been at work shifting the blame to Russia. According to Washington and its presstitute media, the protests are orchestrated by the Russian government and have no sincere basis. If Russia sends in military units to protect the Russian citizens in the former Russian territories, the act will be used by Washington to confirm Washington’s propaganda of a Russian invasion (as in the case of Georgia), and Russia will be further demonized.

AND

The time is approaching when Russia will either have to act to terminate the crisis or accept an ongoing crisis and distraction in its backyard. Kiev has launched military airstrikes on protesters in Slavyansk. On May 2 Russian government spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Kiev’s resort to violence had destroyed the hope for the Geneva agreement on de-escalating the crisis. Yet, the Russian government spokesman again expressed the hope of the Russian government that European governments and Washington will put a stop to the military strikes and pressure the Kiev government to accommodate the protesters in a way that keeps Ukraine together and restores friendly relations with Russia.

This is a false hope. It assumes that the Wolfowitz doctrine is just words, but it is not. The Wolfowitz doctrine is the basis of US policy toward Russia (and China). The doctrine regards any power sufficiently strong to remain independent of Washington’s influence to be “hostile.” The doctrine states:

“Our first objective is to prevent the re-emergence of a new rival, either on the territory of the former Soviet Union or elsewhere, that poses a threat on the order of that posed formerly by the Soviet Union. This is a dominant consideration underlying the new regional defense strategy and requires that we endeavor to prevent any hostile power from dominating a region whose resources would, under consolidated control, be sufficient to generate global power.”

The Wolfowitz doctrine justifies Washington’s dominance of all regions. It is consistent with the neoconservative ideology of the US as the “indispensable” and “exceptional” country entitled to world hegemony.

Russia and China are in the way of US world hegemony. Unless the Wolfowitz doctrine is abandoned, nuclear war is the likely outcome.

Not since the days when the halls of power were stalked by fanatics like  Curtis "Bombs Away" LeMay has there been such a lack of disregard for the nuclear consequences of an escalating and insane pushing of hostilities with Russia.

The state-corporate media completely abandoned any pretense of honesty in allowing this once great nation to be dragged into the debacle that was Iraq yet that failure pales in comparison to the lies about Ukraine and the pushing of a new Cold War. The ramifications of hostilities with Russia, thanks largely to our vainglorious ass of a leader and his crackerjack foreign policy team will be minor in the long run when compared with Iraq. This has civilization level damage written all over it and the way that Barry and the boys are continuing to double down to lure Putin into sending troops into Ukraine the best that we can hope for is collapse.

The Mounting Costs of the Ongoing Neocon Infestation

Like the cockroach the American neoconservative ideologue is the ultimate survivor. Despite having been what appeared to be thoroughly routed and exposed as dangerous cranks and crazies in charge of big things for their disastrous Iraq fiasco – the likes of Perle, Feith, Libby, Wolfowitz and other luminaries were sent backing after the first Bush term – they are now resurgent and ready to seize power to complete the work of the Project For the New American Century (PNAC). Having retrenched and now integrated into the US power structure, in particular at the State Department, embedded within the op ed sections and news operations as some of the nation’s most dominant mainstream news organs, in particular the Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post and ready to regain control of the political levers of power. The 2014 mid-term elections are already in the bag thanks to that Supreme Court ruling that amplifies the damage already done by the Citizen's United travesty for the complete selling out of what was once a vibrant democracy to the highest bidder. One of those happens to be the loathsome aging neocon casino magnate Sheldon Adelson an avowed ultra Zionist and a critical friend and ally to the deranged Israeli leader Bibi Netanyahu, both of whom have one purpose in life which is having the United States do their dirty work by bombing Iran back to the stone age.

But the road to Tehran goes through Ukraine and when it comes to hatred, outside of Palestinians, Muslims and Persians the one thing that really gets up the bloodlust of the neocons is a loathing of all things Russian. So while the Middle East peace process once again goes up in flames thanks to right-wing Israeli recalcitrance that also spills over into the long planned sabotage of the Iran P5+1 nuclear talks they can keep the thin skinned narcissist Obama on the attack over that summer of slights delivered to dear leader by the hated and demonized Putin. First there was the Russian saving of Snowden from being sent to a US affiliated torture chamber followed by the snatching of the war on Syria that was based on false information over the Ghouta gassings out of the jaws of the neocon warmongers. Then came the ultimate indignity of being fed a giant platter of their own American exceptionalist shit right after Obama's address to the nation making the case for for war on Syria on the basis of those lies about sarin gas and on the anniversary of September 11, 2001 by Putin in that New York Times editorial where the savvy former KGB man just fucking drilled it.

In the column the Russian leader dared to invoke the forbidden history that during World War II that his country was an ally of the U.S. and Britain and helped to defeat the Nazis. It is arguable that Russian fighting against the Germans at Stalingrad, one of the bloodiest battles in the history of mankind turned the tide and allowed for the allies to win the war. The Russians chewed up the Nazis in that brutal winter mosh pit of misery that caused the lunatic Adolf Hitler to arrogantly lose a good chunk of his military power while delivering a crushing blow to German resolve. The extreme violence and devastation on the Eastern front were critical in allowing the Americans to successfully invade Europe and then roll over the Nazis as they roared towards Berlin. The Russians don’t get enough credit here while the sainted Sir Winston gets too much of it but such is standard western hypocrisy that we are constantly fed. Especially though when one of those hypocrisies was throwing in with the despotic Joseph Stalin who was right up there with Hitler when it comes to crimes against humanity but he was our kind of bastard at just the right time. The leadership of this country has quite an impressive track record when it comes to supporting ruthless scum who torture and murder their own people so that western business interests can open new markets and plunder resources.

But I digress…

The reminder that Russia and Uncle Sam were on the same side in the “good war” upon which such a hallowed status has been bestowed so as to justify all other wars may have been a nicely delivered and well-deserved body blow but what came next sent the neocons into orbit. Putin delivered a nice running dropkick in the nuts to Obama and his warmongering cohorts in correctly pointing out that “millions around the world increasingly see America not as a model of democracy but relying solely on brute force, cobbling coalitions together under “you’re either with us or against us.”  Vladimir had that just a tad wrong though because there are millions right here in The Homeland who feel exactly the same way. With the stumblebum Obama then on the ropes Putin delivered the knockout punch in calling out  appeals to that most destructive of concepts that is American exceptionalism:

“it is extremely dangerous to encourage people to see themselves as exceptional, whatever the motivation. There are big countries and small countries, rich and poor, those with long democratic traditions and those still finding their way to democracy. Their policies differ, too. We are all different, but when we ask for the Lord’s blessings, we must not forget that God created us equal.”

The neocon swine and the outmatched Obama-Kerry foreign policy team immediately began squealing and embarked upon a dastardly propaganda campaign that would vilify Putin, his prized Sochi Winter Olympic games and then while those very games were taking place use the distraction to launch their dirty little coup in Ukraine with the assistance of Neo-Nazis. Americans bought it hook line and sinker too as the propaganda was hammered home – Putin was attacked for his admittedly abysmal treatment of gays but there was no context in that right here in Obama’s land of hope and change that there are a number of US states whose repressive policies towards gay rights are every bit as despicable as anything in Russia, not to mention our allies that are the pigs who run that debauched sty that is the House of Saud. There were the ongoing trumped up terror threats to cast a pallor of fear over Sochi, the Black Widows, exploding toothpaste tubes and sordid tales of unsanitary conditions. It worked too, just like it always does here in Chumpland. Now the neocons are ginning up the situation in Ukraine with zero thought of the fallout which could be catastrophic on a planetary scale. But you know the way it is with ideologues, whether they be named Lenin, Pol Pot, Mao, Cheney, Hitler or Bill Kristol – they always have the answers.  

If Americans and to a larger degree America itself are to survive this cannot be allowed to happen and it still can be stopped although the window of opportunity is rapidly closing. The primary problem of many is the cascading series of unintended consequences as a result of the US backed coup d’etat in Ukraine where neocon warmonger John McCain’s Neo-Nazi chums and Nuland’s pal “Yats” continues to morph into a massive global catastrophe by the minute and it is now to borrow the term from one of those centralized state-corporate media talking point factories “picking up steam”. The uprising in many East Ukraine cities by anti-austerity or as the media refers to them “pro-Russian separatists” continues and it is about to get very bloody. None other than reigning neocon installed  puppet Arseny “Yats” Yatseniuk paid a visit to the eastern city of Donetsk on Friday in what was a dog and pony show. "Yats" reportedly did not meet with any of the actual protest leaders. It sure wasn’t like Victoria “Fuck the EU” Nuland passing out cookies to pro-austerity, neo-Nazi infested rabble in the Euromaidan and looks suspiciously like nothing more than a public relations ploy before the shock troops (reportedly including corporate mercenaries) are sent in which could happen as early as today. There is breaking news that armed gunmen are seizing buildings (no word on whether they are mercs or other provocateurs) and the police chief of the city of Donetsk has reportedly resigned, the carnage is about to begin and there is no telling of how it will end. Recall the World War I erupted out of small events to cut a grisly swath across Europe, the Middle East and Eurasia. 

In anticipation of the coming bloodshed the occupying Ukrainian coup government has now told Russia and the hated Putin where to stick it regarding their gas bill which will send cheers throughout the ranks of the neocon fifth column here in The Homeland and it conveniently comes just in time for the Sunday morning media masturbatory festival of talking heads and spokespeople for the warfare state.  There is again the all too familiar sack of hypocritical bullshit wrapped in a red, white and blue hypocrisy on this in that here in America, where the caterwauling about the next neocon war of aggression is only drowned out by that sanctimonious cry of personal responsibility in that the triumphalism over the occupiers in Kiev telling Putin to go and fuck himself over paying their bills. Hell, if any of the poor working people here in the US of A chose to take the same approach to our gas and electric suppliers we would be rapidly cut off. That isn’t the way that it works with the chiseling deadbeats and parasites in the Ukraine though, they will immediately be bailed out by IMF bribery money as well as the US taxpayer who is increasingly being beggared to fuel the neocon wars of aggression as well as to prop up a corrupt and decaying system. 

With the violence about to begin and Russian rightly refusing to back down against an obvious hostile takeover in Ukraine - what would Obama do were such a thing to occur in Mexico or Canada - we are about to reap the whirlwind for the Hitlerian neocon fever dreams of world domination.

Provocateur McCain Returns to Kiev

Senator John McCain, the man whose adoration by the US state-corporate media is second only to his proclivity to turn up as an agitator in whichever country happens to be the next stop on the neocon PNAC world domination tour has showed up in Kiev again this weekend. With the massively over-hyped imminent Russian invasion only hours away according to US and western propaganda organs - because Putin is just like Hitler you know - the pathological media whore is hellbent on working the crowds after the western backed coup d'etat that ousted democratically elected leader Viktor Yanukovych. It wasn't that long ago that the Arizona Senator who was recently censured by his own state's Republican party for being too "liberal" (although his warmongering doesn't seem to bother them) was in the Ukrainian capital city where he was pictured schmoozing with the vile facsists and neo-Nazis who provided the muscle for the toppling of the legitimate government. While his public relations staff, including a woman named Elizabeth O'Bagy whose claim to fame was being outed as a paid liar over her credentials as an 'expert' during the selling of the preempted war on Syria will likely not make the same mistake as having the rotten old bastard photographed next to Oleh Tyahnybok of the Svodoba party again.

While setting the stage for what will end up being the greatest US foreign policy debacle since Iraq (another joint venture of the neocons and McCain) the corrupt media in this country has done a masterful job in brainwashing the sheeple into the acceptance of Cold War: The Sequel. According to an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll a whopping 72 percent of Americans see Russia as an "adversary", a "record" number according to what more of an authoritative source than NBC News. What the low-information types who always swallow the lies of the state and the propagandists that serve it is that when considering that the Wall Street Journal was acquired by unprincipled mogul Rupert Murdoch what the poll essentially is as a joint venture between MSNBC and FOX and we all know what sort of unbiased viewers are attracted to that type of swill.  Still despite the fraudulent narrative that is pumped out Americans are being suckered into another quagmire - it almost worked last summer with the bogus Assad gassed his own people tale coupled with the war porn video of dying children in Syria until Russian leader Vladimir Putin saved Obama and the US from another self-inflicted wound. The neocons were furious over that one being blown up and turned their focus to the destabilization of Ukraine and a proxy war with Putin instead.

McCain seems to revel in particular in showing up wherever he can to cause more problems for the Obama administration and pushing for the renewed animosity between the US and Russia over the Ukraine coup is just the venue of the moment. The dyspeptic one just had a scathing op ed piece published in the New York Times entitled “Obama Has Made America Look Weak” from which I excerpt:

For five years, Americans have been told that “the tide of war is receding,” that we can pull back from the world at little cost to our interests and values. This has fed a perception that the United States is weak, and to people like Mr. Putin, weakness is provocative.

That is how Mr. Putin viewed the “reset” policy. United States missile defense plans were scaled back. Allies in Eastern Europe and Georgia were undercut. NATO enlargement was tabled. A new strategic arms reduction treaty required significant cuts by America, but not Russia. Mr. Putin gave little. Mr. Obama promised “more flexibility.”

Mr. Putin also saw a lack of resolve in President Obama’s actions beyond Europe. In Afghanistan and Iraq, military decisions have appeared driven more by a desire to withdraw than to succeed. Defense budgets have been slashed based on hope, not strategy. Iran and China have bullied America’s allies at no discernible cost. Perhaps worst of all, Bashar al-Assad crossed President Obama’s “red line” by using chemical weapons in Syria, and nothing happened to him.

More broadly, we must rearm ourselves morally and intellectually to prevent the darkness of Mr. Putin’s world from befalling more of humanity. We may wish to believe, as President Obama has said, that we are not “in competition with Russia.” But Mr. Putin believes Russia is in competition with us, and pretending otherwise is an unrealistic basis for a great nation’s foreign policy.

Three American presidents have sought to cooperate with Mr. Putin where our interests converge. What should be clear now, and should have been clear the last time he tore apart a country, is that our interests do not converge much. He will always insist on being our rival.

 The United States must look beyond Mr. Putin. His regime may appear imposing, but it is rotting inside. His Russia is not a great power on par with America. It is a gas station run by a corrupt, autocratic regime. And eventually, Russians will come for Mr. Putin in the same way and for the same reasons that Ukrainians came for Viktor F. Yanukovych.

How does this guy continue to get away with this bullshit? He is out there publicly advocating an overthrow of Putin in what is presented as the nation’s flagship newspaper and he doesn’t get called on it. Why is a Senator with a long history of derangement allowed to hijack the system and become the defacto voice for American foreign policy? Jesus Christ, enough of this American whup-ass militarist garbage already.  While I personally am of the opinion that Senator McCain has truly never gotten over being beaten in the 2008 presidential race by a black man (and an unqualified one at that) he would still be selling more war to a country whose true reason for decline and ultimately collapse is precisely because that we are indoctrinated to believe in a world filled with those who “hate us for our freedoms” (we really are not that free if you take a serious look around) and that military spending must be constantly increased to record levels to finance the fight against the enemy. That enemy is now shape-shifting from the mad mullahs and ayatollahs and the menace of al-Qaeda (thanks to guys like McCain we now arm them again) to the Russians.

The Cold War after all made one hell of a lot of coin for the blood barters and combined with the now oh so close to being back in power neocons there will be plenty of money to be made while the poor dupes on our star-spangled lemming farm will continue to face a declining standard of living to fund the war machine.  In a sardonically humorous sort of way it is actually rather amusing to see how the neocons are now goading Obama into a confrontation with Russia the same way that Cheney and Rummy pushed George W. Bush’s buttons to manipulate into the Iraq and Afghanistan quagmires. With Dubya it was always that Oedipal thing and with the narcissist Obama being punked by Putin over the amnesty provided to former government contractor turned NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden after he shined a light into the massive nest of cockroaches at American Stasi HQ in Fort Meade is Barry’s weak spot. McCain and the neocons will now keep rubbing salt into the open wound of Obama's violated pride in order to foment that which they lust for which is permanent war.
