Ultimatum of the Finger Wagger: Kerry Again Threatens Russia

Secretary of State John Kerry, the epitome of the ugly American is once again wagging his finger in the face of Russia and President Vladimir Putin. According to Reuters, the top Skull and Bones alum over at Foggy Bottom has ordered Putin to immediately disarm anti-austerity, anti-fascist freedom fighters in Eastern Ukraine. Currently engaged in more plotting with his EU counterparts in Brussels to complete the absorption of Ukraine into the EU and later NATO, the buffoon that is the American top diplomat continues to push the envelope. The Obama regime's ongoing reckless actions towards Russia endanger the lives of billions and if just one hot-headed idiot decides to unleash a tactical nuke or two in a burst of the emotion that is being nurtured by their bellicosity it could bring doom on a global scale. This incredibly stupid personal vendetta by Kerry and Obama and their cadre of neocon fanatics is not going to end well for any of us and the only ones who are unable to see it are those with the ability to stop it.

The Reuters Story, entitled "Kerry tells Russia to disarm Ukraine separatists 'in hours'" states that:

Washington and other Western powers have stepped up pressure on Russia to take concrete action to defuse the conflict in eastern Ukraine, where a ceasefire between Russian-speaking rebels and government forces has appeared to be crumbling.

"We are in full agreement that it is critical for Russia to show in the next hours, literally, that they're moving to help disarm the separatists, to encourage them to disarm, to call on them to lay down their weapons and to begin to become part of a legitimate process," Kerry told reporters in Paris.

He added that EU leaders would discuss possible sanctions on Russia at their summit in Belgium on Friday.

Washington has said it also has new sanctions ready to go, but Kerry said the United States would prefer not to be in "sanctions mode" and wanted Russia to take action without pressure.

"We would like to see a cooperative effort between the United States, Europe and Russia and the Ukrainians," Kerry added.

Separatist rebellions erupted in eastern Ukraine in early April after street protests in Kiev toppled Moscow-backed leader Viktor Yanukovich, and Russia in turn annexed the Crimean peninsula. Eastern rebels have called for union with Russia. Moscow denies Western accusations that it has allowed fighters to cross into Ukraine along with heavy weapons to confront Ukrainian government forces.

The proposed next round of U.S. and EU sanctions would target Russia's financial, defense and high-tech industries, said U.S. officials.

Could the act of war that is the launching "financial neutron bomb" be coming soon? Pay no mind that Putin just acted to deescalate the situation by requesting parliament revoke his authorization to use military force in Ukraine and is continuing to be the the only rational party involved in this mess. It wasn't Putin who started it, that is unless you go back to last summer when he intervened to prevent the imminent US massive air attack on Damascus bringing both Obama and Kerry much embarrassment and then there is that Snowden asylum thing too. The propaganda machine is already spinning Putin's move as just another one of this devilish acts of trickery while the new Cold War and all of the trillions of dollars that it would generate in profits to the death industry gets ever closer.

Americans have no idea whatsoever of the reality in Ukraine, the state-corporate media has covered up this gross violation of international law from the onset. There was the fomenting of unrest by organizations like the National Endowment for Democracy to turn out the protesters in the streets of Kiev against legitimately elected president at the time Viktor Yanukovych and the subsequent infiltration and hijacking of the protests by bloodthirsty neo-Nazi thugs who were able to introduce violence. Senator John McCain, a psychopath and by the way that he is treated by the media, the de facto US President was photographed in Kiev palling around with neo-Nazis right before the sh*t hit the fan. Then there was that still mysterious killing of both police and protesters by snipers that ignited the smoldering powder keg and led to the ouster of Yanukovych along with the installation of a US backed puppet regime lead by former central banker Arseniy Yatsenyuk or "Yats" as he is affectionately known by former Dick Cheney aide and current Assistant US Secretary of State Victoria "f*ck the EU" Nuland. She is also the woman who handed out cookies to anti-government protesters in Kiev in a public relations exercise and boasted to US corporate interests about the $5 billion dollars of American taxpayer money that has been funneled into Ukraine over the years to ensure that the country would be safe for corporate plunder when the time came.

The best laid plans to surprise Putin with the Ukraine coup d'etat being executed while he was occupied with the Sochi Winter Olympics naturally weren't without failures. Really, anything that the neocons touch as a result of their lunatic dreams of global conquest carry within it the seeds of their own destruction and Ukraine is the latest example. There was Putin's initial request to use military force in Ukraine and then the lightning fast secession of Crimea along with the subsequent vote to join Russia along with the official annexation. This was an unforgivable transgression despite the fact that Crimea always was a part of Russia until Nikita Kruschev (legend has it he was drunk at the time) gave it away in 1954. The corporate forces that were ready to pillage and loot with impunity after the installation of "Yats" were furious as were the neocon geniuses whose prized target - the Russian naval base at Sevastopol was snatched from their claws immediately. The puppet government struck back and into the east went the goons and neo-Nazi militias to commit their heinous atrocities such as the murderous and barbaric acts at the Odessa trade union building which has for all intents and purposes been flushed down the memory hole. Christ know that we can't tell Americans the truth that their government is now on the side of the same Nazi scum that their fathers and grandfathers risked all to defeat in World War II.

The people in the east, knowing from history the full potential of the horrors wrought by Nazi ideology unleashed did what they could do - they fought back and are holding their own to this day despite the US-EU-NATO Axis of Aggression sanctioned use of they military on civilians - including the use of incendiary munitions such as the ones used in Gazaand Fallujah. Ukraine has a new puppet leader, a corrupt oligarch installed to much hoopla in a bogus election named Petro Poroshenko aka "the Chocolate King" and early indications show that he is hellbent on doing the bidding of the US power structure in crushing the uprising in the east under that evil and ubiquitous justification of fighting "terrorists" - which is coming very soon to America.

Poroshenko is eager to please his western masters and after formalizing the deal with the devil for the Ukranian people that is the EU austerity agreement his is upping his rhetoric towards Putin. According to The Guardian in a story entitled "Ukraine president accuses Russia of doing nothing to end 'disastrous' war" the Chocolate King was providing the cover for the coming round of sanctions in the Obama regime's ongoing provocations of Russia. I excerpt the following:

Speaking in Brussels, Poroshenko stated bluntly that the rebels were under the control of Vladimir Putin's Kremlin. "I think now Russia has done nothing," he said. "We are talking of Russian citizens, Russian officers, Russians by origin, Russian soldiers of fortune." He characterised the Kremlin's strategy in Ukraine as "not very pragmatic" and "very emotional".

AND

Asked if Ukraine would get Crimea back during his presidential term, Poroshenko smiled and said: "Yes"

It was more of the same vintage Russia-baiting as that recent absurd accusation from NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen that the Putin government was secretly working in close coordination with European environmentalists in fighting the "fracking" industry. From The Guardian story "Russia 'secretly working with environmentalists to oppose fracking'":

The head of one of the world's leading groups of democratic nations has accused Russia of undermining projects using hydraulic fracturing technology in Europe.

Anders Fogh Rasmussen, secretary-general of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato), and former premier of Denmark, told the Chatham House thinktank in London on Thursday that Vladimir Putin's government was behind attempts to discredit fracking, according to reports.

Rasmussen said: "I have met allies who can report that Russia, as part of their sophisticated information and disinformation operations, engaged actively with so-called non-governmental organisations - environmental organisations working against shale gas - to maintain European dependence on imported Russian gas."

It was something straight out of the John Birch Society Blue Book and yet here is the leader of NATO hurling about a dangerous and baseless charge that could have dire ramifications in the United States where the fight against the destructive practice of "fracking" is facing growing opposition. Given the actions of the NSA and the constitutional wrecking crew of both the Obama and Bush administrations it is not much of a reach to believe that US domestic activists are already being subjected to surveillance and cases are already being built against them. it is a certainty that these are exactly the targets that the NSA is really going after and this will likely be exposed once Snowden's list is revealed. They will have good company too in that antiwar activists and bloggers and independent media writers who dare to question the corrupt system that now dominates politics in The Homeland are going to be on it too.

The runaway train that is hurtling towards a hideous endgame over Ukraine that will likely result in World War III continues to pick up speed, Poroshenko's demagoguery and the predictable reaction by Russian political figures who have again been stabbed in the back by the west continue to jack up the tensions. Not that Putin adviser Sergei Glazyev was wrong when he called the new boss in Kiev "a Nazi" for the recently inked austerity deal as reported by The Guardian:

Sergei Glazyev, an adviser to Putin, told the BBC before the signing that "Europe is trying to push Ukraine to sign this agreement by force" and said Petro Poroshenko, the president, lacked the legitimacy to make the deal.

"They organised [a] military coup in Ukraine; they helped Nazis to come to power. This Nazi government is bombing the largest region in Ukraine." He said he "of course" believed the Ukrainian president was a Nazi.

Not that you will read about that in the US state-corporate media, at least not in anything even resembling the actual context but his is correct - the coming carnage in the east is going to make that slaughter at the Odessa trade union building look like a picnic. The real way that the Kiev junta think about their Russian speaking countrymen has been made obvious by not only the murderous actions of rampaging neo-Nazi militias but also by Yatsenyuk himself when he slipped up about two weeks ago and referred to the anti-austerity fighters as "subhumans" or as the many in Ukraine who cling to the legend of their hero, Nazi-collaborator and mass-murderer Stepan Bandera would describe them - untermensch.

But Kerry continues to pontificate, threaten and wave that damned finger of his as though this country still has that most priceless commodity that is the moral high ground - only the rubes, drunk on their star-spangled fat asses off of the toxic elixir of "American exceptionalism" as preached by snake oil salesmen like Obama believe that garbage - because when you throw in with the admirers of the twentieth century's greatest criminals the Nazis, it has been ceded forever.

US Puppet Chocolate King to Push Ukraine Closer to War With Russia

Meeting with President Barack Obama during the narcissist in chief's whirlwind European tour last week, newly minted US puppet Petro Porshenko aka "the Chocolate King" finalized his deal with the devil and will continue the frantic push towards war with Russia on behalf of his western puppeteers. The election of Poroshenko is as legitimate as the coup to oust democratically elected president Viktor Yanokoyvch was but after months of incompetent, politically tone deaf rule by Arseniy Yatsenyuk - or as he is known in the terms of endearment of US State Department neocon in charge of Eastern Europe Victoria "Fuck the EU" Nuland "Yats" as the emergency manager to preside over the implementing of the carving up of the country for western corporate and financial interests - he is a new face that allows for improved propaganda. The US-EU-NATO Axis of Aggression botched the operation badly with the disproportionate amount of power given to fascists and neo-Nazis, worshippers of WW II Nazi collaborator Stepan Bandera who engaged in the typical thuggery that such types are prone to. The members of Svoboda (John McCain's neo-Nazi pals) and the even more savage Pravy Sektor or Right Sector wasted no time in attacking Russian speaking Ukrainians in the east, none more gruesome than what occurred at the Odessa trade union building where atrocities were committed before it was burned down by neo-Nazi mobs. 

The "Yats" regime also badly fumbled the ball much to the chagrin of the global finance mafia by getting caught with their pants down and losing the crown deal of the Ukraine hostile takeover that was Crimea along with the Russian Black Sea naval base at Sevastopol. The neocons were apoplectic and have not stopped working through their US media propaganda outposts in prominent newspaper editorial departments to constantly lie to the American sheep that Putin is trying to rebuild the Red Menace of the old USSR, a variation of the imposition of the Islamic Caliphate, were the neocons so inclined they could get a large portion of the country to believe that a Martian invasion was imminent. Poroshenko seems ready to not only continue but to escalate western provocations to lure Putin into a military confrontation in Ukraine and in taking a page from the Gas Princess has vowed to retake Crimea.

The Chocolate King used his coronation ceremony in Kiev to issue what amounts to an open declaration of war against neighboring Russia and despite his D-Day commemoration ceremony meeting with Putin there is no sign that is encouraging that Poroshenko is going to do anything to halt the ongoing ethnic cleansing aka "anti-terrorist" operations in the East. If nothing else the violence is escalating as the attacks have expanded beyond the ranks of Right Sector fascists, neo-Nazi militias and assorted mercenaries and now the Ukranian military is being used against civilians. Given the amount of propaganda disbursed it is difficult to get credible on the ground reporting and the US media is on lockdown as to divulging anything remotely resembling reality - there still has been no official acknowledgement that US taxpayer money is being provided to fund neo-Nazis.

The new puppet leader has given his pledge of "immunity" to those who have taken up arms against the Kiev coup government to prevent the crushing austerity and humiliation that is coming and has according to Reuters vowed a safe passage to any Russians who have entered Ukraine to fight the fascists but he is not to be trusted. Remember the scene from The Outlaw Josey Wales when surrendering renegades where given an offer of amnesty if they laid down their arms and then murdered in cold blood with the US Senator in charge proclaiming that:  "They were decently treated. They were decently fed and then they were decently shot", any anti-fascist fighter who complies with this western puppet's request will likely meet a similar fate.

For what it's worth, in the interest of balance I excerpt this interview with opposition leader Igor Strelkov that has been posted at the libertarian financial blog Zero Hedge entitled  "The Shadowy Commander Of The East Ukraine Insurgency Speaks": 

I believe that the situation will change for the worse, because now this so-called “legitimate” President immediately will turn to NATO countries, to Western countries, for help, asking, first and foremost, for military help.

We can then expect to be confronted with new NATO tanks, helicopters, aircraft, advisors, instructors, mercenaries. There will be greater numbers of shells, troops and victims. This is all that I expect from this so-called “inauguration.”

This morning [June 7, 2014] there was again artillery shelling of the Artem neighbourhood of Slavyansk. There our checkpoints are located along the perimeter, but the enemy regularly shells homes in civilian neighbourhoods. Specifically, the shells exploded here, here, near the Lenin Hospital, and here.

AND

They conducted strikes against Nikolaevskaia Power Plant specifically with the intent of taking it out of commission, so at to cut off electrical supplies not only to our city, but to a whole number of cities in the north of Donbass region. In fact, this was a direct attack intended to destroy the infrastructure that feeds urban and industrial regions. The same can be said about the continuing bombardment of industrial locations. In sum, we are witnessing purposeful destruction of the industrial complex. You can draw an analogy to an old joke about a Ukrainian who says “Even if I can’t eat it, at least I’ll bite it.” In other words, if I can’t have you, no one can. About right.

I am predicting that not only the Slavyansk region, which, at this time, acts as a shield for the Lugansk and Donetsk oblasts/provinces, but also the entire territory of Lugansk and Donetsk regions will turn into a battlefield. It is obvious that no one will stop this military operation; no one is intending to terminate it. More than that, military elements are being used that are entirely excessive in fighting against small guerilla units. In fact, these elements are more-or-less useless. In a manner of saying, they are using cannons to shoot down birds. All of this will continue further, it will be transferred to Donetsk, to Gorlovka, to Makeevka, to Lugansk, to all the other cities and parts of the region. At least that’s how the Ukrainian army is acting. These are the conclusion that can be drawn from what the Ukrainian army is doing. This will turn into a humanitarian catastrophe not just at the scale of a city, but on the regional, possibly the world scale. I say this because there are over six (6) million inhabitants [in the region] that will become the targets of this very dumb, very unprofessional, very careless military machine. While guerillas (and we are, in fact, guerillas), i.e. militia, are able to defend cities, are able to repel infantry and even tank attacks by the enemy, we are, unfortunately, incapable of defending the region from airstrikes and artillery shelling. Equally, we are unable to destroy [artillery and aviation] because the ratio of the opposing forces remains disturbingly [not in our favour]. Regardless of how many volunteers we are able to field (and, first of all, we are unable to arm all of them, to this date we lack everything – rifles, ammo, anti-aircraft elements, and, most important, we lack anti-tank defence systems, including anti-tank artillery), and even if we receive all the necessary equipment and are able to match [Ukrainian] regular forces in combat, this would nevertheless lead to a complete humanitarian catastrophe in the region. Unfortunately, without peacekeeping forces (and I obviously mean Russian peacekeepers, as no other peacekeeping force would be accepted by us here, nor considered a “peacekeeping force”), the region will descend into bloody chaos, lawlessness. Everything that was built over decades would be lost, destroyed.

Q: Poroshenko promised Putin that, in the nearest future, the war will be either brought to an end or suspended, in some manner. In your opinion, what did he mean when he said this?

A: I believe that what he meant is that the Ukrainian army will steamroll over the entire Donbass region, will eliminate all those who rose up against the illegitimate Kiev government, all those who rebelled against the discrimination directed against the Russian people, and that, in this manner, he would bring the war to an end. I think this is what he had in mind. An oligarch who sponsored the so-called “Maidan,” who made the most warlike claims and adopted extreme positions while still a Presidential candidate, who is a puppet controlled directly by the United States of America, this oligarch cannot change who he is in one day or one night. Of course, what he means is that he plans to “impose order” with an iron fist, the fist of his punitive forces. Put it bluntly, we saw how they “impose order” from the example of what happened in Krasniy Liman. That is why we will, of course, resist to the last man. We will resist successfully, I am emphasizing this again. The real problem is not that we will be unable to defend ourselves or to withstand attacks by the Ukrainian forces, the problem is that if this war continues indefinitely, the region will fall to a humanitarian catastrophe. As a result Russia will become the recipient of millions of disenfranchised, impoverished and angry refugees. Everything that was built, created over decades, if not centuries, will be destroyed.

This is an account from a man in the trenches and if you really think that the corrupt oligarch Chocolate King – soon to be shitting into golden toilets and wiping his ass with United States treasury notes is going to be given anything other than the Outlaw Josey Wales surrender treatment than you are sadly mistaken. If anything the slaughter is only beginning and the American taxpayer is once again paying the blood money for the bullets and bombs.

Barack H. Obama was sworn as the forty-fourth president of the United States on a bite ass cold day in Washington in January of 2009 riding high upon a wave of hope and change. The nation had become war-weary after the eight year gauntlet of brutality and horrors that was the Bush-Cheney regime and their neocon foreign policy and Obama was to wash away the sins, end the wars and restore the rule of law. Instead Mr. Obama not only did not hold his war criminal predecessor and his minions accountable but refined their programs including the launching of a robotic fleet of airborne murder machines that are the squadrons of civilian killing drones. He somewhat drew down the US occupation in Iraq although the country has become a roiling cauldron of violence now thanks to the destabilization from the invasion and is engaged in the smoke and mirrors that will end the US presence in Afghanistan but the man has now tasted blood and seems to like it.

It really didn't take long for the latest war criminal to occupy the imperial throne at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue to pick up the baton of his predecessors. After Obama 'won' his exalted Nobel Peace Prize for essentially NOT being George W. Bush and coming off of a drubbing inflicted by race-baiting Republicans in the 2010 mid-terms that cost Dear Leader's feckless Democratic party the House in that famous "shellacking" he decided to take the advice of arch neocon Michael Ledeen:

"Every ten years or so, the United States needs to pick up some small crappy little country and throw it against the wall, just to show the world we mean business"

That crappy little country was Libya.

The moment the first explosions rocked Libya I knew that Barack Obama had just locked down another four years in the White House. This was his initiation, his right of passage, just like laying in a mock coffin and sucking off upperclassmen in the Skull and Bones tomb (Secretary of State John Kerry is an alumni) he joined the big club. By the very definition of the term, every US President is a war criminal and our very own proud owner of the Nobel Peace Prize staked his claim, pissed his name into the snow and has been inclined to pursue the wars of the American Empire with vigor ever since. This is a guy who has a fucking kill list delivered to him with breakfast every day and seems to relish it.

Prior to hitting Libya and ultimately inciting local thugs to viciously and cruelly murder former US friendly despot Muammar Gaddafi there was the killing of Osama bin Laden that elicited grotesque displays of flag-waving triumphalism in America. Obama was the man because  it took the most powerful military machine in the history of the galaxy over ten years to find the alleged mastermind behind the September 11, 2001 attacks who was more than once reported to be cave-hopping with a dialysis machine but Obama to much celebration ordered the hit team to storm that safe house in Pakistan. The jubilation at the alleged kill far outweighed the perception from many that taking out Osama was more like a mafia hit, he was after all a servant of the Empire in the proxy war against the hated Russians in Afghanistan in the 1980s. Incidentally and take this for what it's worth because I offer up no suggestions, allegations or theories but the body was never seen outside of a small circle and the photos of the killing of the bad ass bogeyman are a bigger state secret than who killed John F. Kennedy.

But I digress...

Obama having been reelected rather easily (who wouldn't be if they faced the thoroughly inept Mitt Romney) has in his second term become hellbent at proving that he is the baddest fucking gangster on Earth and this is apparent in the shameful, US sponsored bloodletting in Ukraine.  The events leading up to the coup in Kiev that toppled the then democratically elected leader Viktor Yanukovych - a corrupt bastard although he has nothing on western leaders when it comes to that - and installed a ready to go puppet leader in waiting in Arseniy "Yats" Yatsenyuk which were backed by notorious thugs from Ukranian fascists Svoboda and Right Sektor were steeped in Obama's need to win a dick measuring contest with the Russian leader Vladimir Putin. There was first the stinging indignity of Russia's granting of asylum to NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden - it's one thing for Republicans to tell Obama to eat shit and quite another for a goddamned Rooskie to to likewise and particularly if the refugee protected has the goods on Obama's Stasi. Then came Putin's saving Obama from himself over going to war with Syria on trumped up evidence over a to this day mysterious Sarin gas attack in the Damascus suburbs, this inflamed the neocons embedded within the administration as well as Kerry and they have been likely pushing all of Obama's buttons since.

The grand disaster of all is what continues to unfold in Ukraine and more so that what appear to be paramilitary death squads and packs of fascist and neo-Nazi thugs along with the coup government's military rolling into the east for a reign of terror of which the BEST result would be a bloody civil war. The violence has continued to escalate too since that Odessa trade union hall was set ablaze by US sanctioned goons and yet the US state-corporate media still refuses to acknowledge the composition of the forces deployed by the puppet regime in Kiev - had such a thing been done then the Obama administration may have barred the offending organization and individuals from that garish festival of pigs that was the White House Correspondent's Association Dinner over the weekend. While the majority of Americans continue to be lied to on a daily basis by the establishment media the bulk of honest reportage is either provided by the alternative or foreign media. As much as the coup regime in Ukraine and its supporters want to project an image of Western moderation, there is a “Dr. Strangelove” element that can’t stop the Nazism from popping up from time to time, like when the Peter Sellers character in the classic movie can’t keep his right arm from making a “Heil Hitler” salute.

This brutal Nazism surfaced again on Friday when right-wing toughs in Odessa attacked an encampment of ethnic Russian protesters driving them into a trade union building which was then set on fire with Molotov cocktails. As the building was engulfed in flames, some people who tried to flee were chased and beaten, while those trapped inside heard the Ukrainian nationalists liken them to black-and-red-striped potato beetles called Colorados, because those colors are used in pro-Russian ribbons.

“Burn, Colorado, burn” went the chant.

As the fire worsened, those dying inside were serenaded with the taunting singing of the Ukrainian national anthem. The building also was spray-painted with Swastika-like symbols and graffiti reading “Galician SS,” a reference to the Ukrainian nationalist army that fought alongside the German Nazi SS in World War II, killing Russians on the eastern front.

The death by fire of dozens of people in Odessa recalled a World War II incident in 1944 when elements of a Galician SS police regiment took part in the massacre of the Polish village of Huta Pieniacka, which had been a refuge for Jews and was protected by Russian and Polish partisans. Attacked by a mixed force of Ukrainian police and German soldiers on Feb. 28, hundreds of townspeople were massacred, including many locked in barns that were set ablaze.

The legacy of World War II – especially the bitter fight between Ukrainian nationalists from the west and ethnic Russians from the east seven decades ago – is never far from the surface in Ukrainian politics. One of the heroes celebrated during the Maidan protests in Kiev was Nazi collaborator Stepan Bandera, whose name was honored in many banners including one on a podium where Sen. John McCain voiced support for the uprising to oust elected President Viktor Yanukovych, whose political base was in eastern Ukraine.

During World War II, Bandera headed the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists-B, a radical paramilitary movement that sought to transform Ukraine into a racially pure state. OUN-B took part in the expulsion and extermination of thousands of Jews and Poles.

Though most of the Maidan protesters in 2013-14 appeared motivated by anger over political corruption and by a desire to join the European Union, neo-Nazis made up a significant number. These storm troopers from the Right Sektor and Svoboda party decked out some of the occupied government buildings with Nazi insignias and even a Confederate battle flag, the universal symbol of white supremacy.

Then, as the protests turned violent from Feb. 20-22, the neo-Nazis surged to the forefront. Their well-trained militias, organized in 100-man brigades called “the hundreds,” led the final assaults against police and forced Yanukovych and many of his officials to flee for their lives.

In the days after the coup, as the neo-Nazi militias effectively controlled the government, European and U.S. diplomats scrambled to help the shaken parliament put together the semblance of a respectable regime, although four ministries, including national security, were awarded to the right-wing extremists in recognition of their crucial role in ousting Yanukovych.

Seeing No Nazis

Since February, virtually the entire U.S. news media has cooperated in the effort to play down the neo-Nazi role, dismissing any mention of this inconvenient truth as “Russian propaganda.” Stories in the U.S. media delicately step around the neo-Nazi reality by keeping out relevant context, such as the background of national security chief Andriy Parubiy, who founded the Social-National Party of Ukraine in 1991, blending radical Ukrainian nationalism with neo-Nazi symbols. Parubiy was commandant of the Maidan’s “self-defense forces.”

When the neo-Nazi factor is mentioned in the mainstream U.S. press, it is usually to dismiss it as nonsense, such as an April 20 column by New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof who visited his ancestral home, the western Ukrainian town of Karapchiv, and portrayed its residents as the true voice of the Ukrainian people.

“To understand why Ukrainians are risking war with Russia to try to pluck themselves from Moscow’s grip, I came to this village where my father grew up,” he wrote. “Even here in the village, Ukrainians watch Russian television and loathe the propaganda portraying them as neo-Nazi thugs rampaging against Russian speakers.

“‘If you listen to them, we all carry assault rifles; we’re all beating people,’ Ilya Moskal, a history teacher, said contemptuously.”

In an April 17 column from Kiev, Kristof wrote that what the Ukrainians want is weapons from the West so they can to go “bear-hunting,” i.e. killing Russians. “People seem to feel a bit disappointed that the United States and Europe haven’t been more supportive, and they are humiliated that their own acting government hasn’t done more to confront Russian-backed militants. So, especially after a few drinks, people are ready to take down the Russian Army themselves.”

The Obama administration is wallowing in lies up to their asses over what is going on in Ukraine, constantly issuing threats against Putin, leveling economic sanctions, bullying the EU satellites into economic reprisals that in the long run will damage their own people more than Russia. Then despite the constant accusations of Putin's meddling it is now out that there are CIA and FBI agents assisting with the counterinsurgency campaign to protect the unelected puppet government. As of this morning the situation on the ground becomes more violent and now even the German foreign minister is warning of war. Having failed to bait Putin into sending Russian forces into Ukraine - and it is suspiciously looking like that may have been the intent - the neocons, having failed in the original putsch to take the Russian naval base at Sevastopol in Crimea may just be content to destabilize Ukraine entirely. It is all just a sick fucking game to these people who should have been discredited long ago instead of attaching themselves to their latest host in the White House.

Not surprisingly, as of this morning Obama has yet to denounce the thugs that burned down that building in Odessa, don't hold your breath waiting for it either.
