Now It's Official: Rick Perry Doesn't Make Cut for GOP Debate

Now it’s official and former Texas Governor Rick Perry has missed the cut for the first Republican party presidential debate. It was always going to be a tough haul for Perry who has faced an uphill climb despite his recent wriggling off the hook on a felony charge that had hovered like a dark cloud over his latest run for the White House and it just got tougher. Perry made headlines by talking a lot of smack about runaway leader Donald Trump who he called a “cancer on conservatism”. Now, despite his bravado in going after Trump by ridiculously challenging him to a freaking pull up contest, Mr. Perry has been left without a chair after the music stopped.

As reported by USA Today in the story “Fox News announces GOP debate field”:
John Kasich and Chris Christie are in — Rick Perry is out.

Kasich and Christie clinched the last two spots for this week's 10-candidate debate, Fox News announced Tuesday, joining Donald Trump, Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, Mike Huckabee, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Ben Carson, and Ted Cruz.
The debate is 9 p.m. Thursday in Cleveland.

Perry finished 11th in the aggregate of polls Fox used to determine the field. That relegated the former Texas governor to a 5 p.m. debate on Thursday with other candidates outside the top 10: Rick Santorum, Carly Fiorina, Bobby Jindal, Lindsey Graham, George Pataki, and Jim Gilmore.

Perry's absence from the prime time debate eliminates one of the party's most outspoken critics of Trump, the brash billionaire who is leading Republican preference polls.

"Regardless of where we are on the debate, whether it's the 5:00 or the 9:00 debate, it's going to be with some very substantial people," Perry told Fox Business Network before the final lineups were announced.

It sucks for Perry getting nosed out by Chris Christie of all people but in a beauty contest between pigs one gets to poke it's head into the trough in and one gets sent packing to wallow in a pool of it's own shit. If it’s any consolation though the big fat loudmouth from the Sopranos state isn’t in this for the long haul either no matter how much that he glowers and threatens to punch the teachers union in the kisser.

Perry never really recovered from his catastrophic performance at the 2011 GOP debate in Auburn Hills, Michigan where he crashed and burned by forgetting the name of that third government agency that he was going to cut. At least Perry won’t be on the main stage on Thursday to embarrass himself again and it won’t be long until Americans can just forget about this chump altogether.
