The Beginning of the End for Trump? The Donald Signs RNC Loyalty Pledge

Hated insurgent Donald Trump has finally bowed to pressure and signed off on the Stalinist loyalty oath concocted by the Republican party establishment. The pledge was delivered to him by RNC boss Reince Priebus who was under mounting pressure by the big money donors to bring the bombastic billionaire outsider to heel. How the pledge will affect the Donald’s lead in the polls and whether it will give the green light for the entire stable of establishment candidates to go for his throat has yet to be seen. However, to those who ardently supported him due to his independent status, the agreement to not run as a third-party candidate and support the nominee – effectively surrendering his leverage –there has to be more than a bit of a feeling of betrayal.

Trump’s acceptance of the new rules of engagement are reported by CNN in the story “Donald Trump signs RNC loyalty pledge”:

Donald Trump has signed the pledge.

The Republican presidential front-runner met privately with Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus Thursday afternoon, and soon after, came out to the lobby of Trump Tower to declare that he has signed a loyalty pledge. This means Trump has promised to support the party's eventual nominee -- whoever that may be -- and that he will not run as a third-party candidate.

"The best way for the Republicans to win is if I win the nomination and go directly against whoever they happen to put up. And for that reason, I have signed the pledge," Trump said, holding up the paper. "So I will be totally pledging my allegiance to the Republican Party and for the conservative principles for which it stands."

He added: "We will go out and fight hard, and we will win."

All 17 Republican presidential candidates have now pledged to support the GOP's eventual presidential nominee, Priebus announced Thursday evening in a statement, billing it as a sign of "party unity."

But if Trump's official declaration of allegiance to the party serves to calm the nerves of establishment Republicans -- at least for now -- it could also invite backlash from some of the bombastic candidate's die-hard supporters.

Trump has propelled himself to the top of the polls by casting himself as an anti-establishment, outsider candidate, railing against career politicians and the Washington political class.

Signing an RNC pledge complicates that image.

The enthusiasm that Trump brought to a large segment of the party base struck mortal terror into the hearts of Priebus and the elite who much like the Democrats with Queen Hillary had already decided on their 2016 standard bearer “Jeb!”. Now a lot of those folks are naturally going to feel that they have been sold out again with the memory of the Boehner-McConnell backstabbing of November 2014 still fresh in their minds. While the Trump public relations team talked it up as a victory it may soon prove to the moment when the wave crested and then began to recede as the establishment has reasserted control over the process.

Looking to prove that he isn’t a spineless, whishy-washy marshmallow candidate, John Ellis Bush aka “Jeb!” has gone into attack mode against Donald Trump. Following the launching of a new negative advertising campaign, Bush V.3 made an appearance in heavily Hispanic Miami where he tore into the Donald en español. The big donors were getting restive about the inability of Jeb! to be running away with the Republican race despite his famous family brand name and must have put the cattle prod to his ass because he is now in full attack mode. When it comes to pandering to Latinos Bush has no peer with the exception of neocon favorite Marco Rubio, and he was preaching to the choir at the La Progresiva Presbyterian School on Tuesday.

Jeb Bush is "en el ataque."

That's Spanish for "on the attack" -- and the former Florida governor certainly is, as he confronted and mocked businessman Donald Trump in English and Spanish on Tuesday.

Trump now enjoys a commanding lead over rivals for the Republican presidential nomination, while recent polls suggest that Bush is on a precipitous decline in Iowa -- where he sits in the single digits -- and in New Hampshire. A Granite State poll released on Tuesday showed Bush slipping into the single digits there for the first time.

The Bush campaign released a new 80-second Web video on Tuesday that strings together clips from interviews Trump has done over several decades that show him praising Democratic front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton and voicing support for abortion rights, tax increases on wealthy Americans and the 2009 economic stimulus program.

After a town hall meeting at a Presbyterian school here, Bush explained his decision to go on the offensive, using explanations he's voiced before in English. But in Spanish, in response to questions from Spanish-speaking reporters, his tone and choice of words was sharper.

"He attacks me every day. He attacks me every day with barbarities," Bush said in Spanish in response to a question. "They’re not true. What we did today was to put out in his words to show that he’s not conservative. He supports people like Nancy Pelosi. He’s given money to Hillary Clinton. He was a Democrat longer than Republican. He’s said that he’s more comfortable being a Democrat. He doesn’t have a record, because he hasn’t been a person who has served like me, who served for eight years as governor. He’s not a conservative. That’s my point."

"He’s not conservative. He doesn’t have a career that you could say is conservative," Bush said later in Spanish.

But El Busho is hardly a “conservative” either. Rather he is just one more RINO who has hijacked the word conservatism as a vehicle for his own political ambitions and when it really comes down to it, the only substantive difference between himself and Hillary is a set of cojones. 

The Republican establishment seems to have settled on attacking Trump as not being a conservative and putting together clips of past statements to show that he is more closely aligned with Nancy Pelosi than Ronald Reagan. This is very hazardous because people do evolve in their views, hell Reagan himself was once a Democrat and even campaigned for Harry Truman and trashed Republicans. Focusing too much on Trump's past statements could not only alienate his supporters and force him into running as an independent but could ultimately attract those Democrats who would rather drink turpentine than line up behind Mrs. Clinton. It is playing with fire or as Jeb! would put it mucho caliente.

Will Mitt Romney Ride In On a White Horse to Save GOP from Trump?

You just had to know that Mitt Romney wasn’t going to just piss off and go away gracefully. He didn’t just slink off into the sunset to a life of political exile and great material wealth after snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in the 2012 election and when he announced that he wasn’t running this time around it was hard to take him seriously. Now, just like that recurrent case of incurable herpes that can never be vanquished, the Mittster may be getting ready to re-enter the scene as the man on the white horse who will rescue the GOP establishment from the hated Donald Trump. There are reports that the deep-pocketed donors are less than thrilled with the current field and are practically down on their knees begging God that Romney will reconsider and carry the day since it is getting pretty clear that Jeb! is in way over his head.

Romney is said to be appalled at how Trump has rocketed to the lead in polls and like the typical elitist snob, thinks that the Donald is uncouth and unsuitable as the GOP nominee. According to a story from New York Magazine entitled “Romney Is Horrified by Trump — and That’s Restarting ‘Mitt 2016’ Talk”:

As Donald Trump continues to dominate the Republican presidential race, frustration and panic have become high enough to make some inside the party Establishment pine for a candidate they roundly rejected as recently as January: Mitt Romney. Romney himself has become one of Trump’s most vocal detractors inside the party. “He’s someone to whom civility means a lot. The whole Trump thing really bothers him,” a close Romney adviser told me — and some Romney-ites are only too happy to talk up the prospect of their man jumping into the race if the Establishment fails to stop Trump, whose support in Iowa and New Hampshire is currently greater than Jeb Bush's, Scott Walker's, Marco Rubio's, Chris Christie's, and John Kasich's combined.

“Mitt wants to run. He never stopped wanting to run,” a senior member of his 2012 team told me. Other Romney-ites, watching this cycle’s candidates falling short, feel a sense of vindication after all the attacks they endured after Romney's failed 2012 bid. "These guys like Walker and Perry, they were big deals in their states, but you get them onto the national stage and it's a different story," a former Romney adviser told me. "It's like they were in middle school, and now they're freshmen in high school and they're getting their faces slammed in the toilets."

Mitt is either an egomaniac or a lunatic who believes that he is the chosen one to fulfill the Mormon “White Horse Prophecy” but the man is driven by something. The establishment is going to spend millions of dollars in a shock and awe barrage of negative advertising against Trump in September in the hope that something can finally stop him even though he has survived several concerted attempts to take him down already. If the September media onslaught fails to mortally wound Trump and voters don’t start to warm up to John Ellis Bush, then Romney may be just the man to take on the varmint. 

It would almost be like a real life version of Clint Eastwood’s “Pale Rider” with Mitt as hired gun Marshal Stockburn being brought in to solve a problem for the wealthy town boss and anyone who saw the movie knows how well that turned out.

Establishment Jubilant as Ben Carson Ties Trump in Monmouth University Poll

The anti-Trump coalition finally has that one poll that they have been longing for where the Donald is not leading the GOP pack. They were likely exchanging high fives and fist bumping at RNC headquarters over the results of the Monmouth University poll that showed retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson - a favorite of Evangelical Christians - has tied the meddlesome billionaire outsider at 23 percent in the critical state of Iowa. The Monmouth poll will be flogged relentlessly by a mercenary media that is getting their marching orders and preparing to go all in on that post-Labor Day negative advertising onslaught that the establishment is hoping will finally slay Trumpzilla.

CNN is reporting that “Ben Carson ties Donald Trump in new Iowa poll”:

For the first time in more than a month, mogul Donald Trump is not leading the field in one of the first four nominating states in the Republican primary, according to a new poll.

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson has surged up in the pack to tie Trump in Iowa, Monmouth University found in a poll out Monday.

Trump and Carson are tied at 23%, according to the survey, making it the first time since July 26 that a poll in the first four states to select a Republican nominee did not find Trump substantially ahead of all other candidates.

Farther behind Trump and Carson were former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, at 10%; Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, at 9%; Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, at 7%; former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, at 5%; Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, each at 4%; Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, at 3%; and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, at 2%. No other candidates topped 1%.

The downside of the Monmouth U. poll is that golden boy Jeb! (aka John Ellis Bush) is pulling a horrid 5 percent and the neocon stooge Marco Rubio is at 4 percent. Despite the fact that Carson isn’t exactly the preferred choice of the elite he will be more malleable than Trump could ever be. If it can be pulled off and the token black candidate Carson can be pumped up and sold as the anti-establishment candidate, then he could easily be taken down by the pro-Bush forces because nice guys finish last. Swapping out Ben Carson for Trump as the choice of the conservative base is essentially a bait and switch and is a testament to how little esteem that the establishment snobs have for the intelligence of voters who they feel can be easily hornswoggled like they were last November.

But if anything has been established it is that Trump is extremely resilient and the coming blitzkrieg may just backfire and do so in a spectacular manner. Despite his being despised by the GOP leadership and the big money donors, he would hammer a wounded Hillary Clinton in the general election. That doesn’t seem to matter to the big shots and the thousands of operatives whose livelihoods depend on a squishy moderate getting the nomination. They would rather expend their energy trying to kneecap Trump and damn the collateral damage to the ultimate goal of a Republican taking up residence in the White House come January 2017. If the September media bombardment fails then the establishment may just try to pull a Mitt Romney out of their hat as a last ditch effort to keep the rabble from taking over their process.

Another WAPO Columnist Flames Trump: This Time as the American Putin

The ongoing war between the entrenched Washington establishment and unruly outsider Donald Trump continues to rage unabated. With Trump leading the polls and rolling forward with a full head of steam, the cadre of lackeys and lickspittles that do the dirty work for the Beltway elite have been as busy as the proverbial one-armed paperhangers. One of the most prolific chop shops of all is the Washington Post editorial department which has been working overtime to churn out their anti-Donald propaganda on a daily basis. The editorial staff has been engaged in the old ‘throw as much shit against the wall to see what sticks’ style of character assassination and the latest effort, by vaunted establishment mouthpiece David Ignatius, compares Trump to the reviled Russian strongman Vladimir Putin.

The piece is entitled “Is Donald Trump an American Putin?” from which I excerpt the following:

He promises to restore his country’s greatness, without offering a specific plan. He uses crude, vulgar expressions that make him sound like an ordinary guy, even though he’s a billionaire. He’s a narcissist who craves media attention. And for all his obvious shortcomings, he’s very popular.

Whom am I referring to? Russian President Vladimir Putin, of course. But the parallels with a certain American politician known as the “The Donald” are obvious.

Donald Trump is in some respects an American version of Putin. Like the Russian leader, he seeks to reverse his country’s losses and return its former glory. He promises a restoration of power and prestige without trifling about the details.

Trump is more nakedly self-promoting than Putin, with a vanity and braggadocio that would embarrass a Russian (or, indeed, almost anyone). Trump’s Web site promotes him as “the very definition of the American success story,” gliding over his four corporate bankruptcies. He seems to enjoy it when commentators deride him as an uncouth lout and rabble-rouser, underestimating the power of his message. His blunt comments speak to a nation that’s sick of political double-talk.

Trump’s tirades about illegal immigration, his loudest campaign theme, are part of a long and ugly story in the United States. Within 70 years of the republic’s founding, a party aptly dubbed the “Know-Nothings” was bashing immigrants, especially Catholics. Over subsequent decades, nativists were attacking every new thread of the American quilt — Irish, Italian, German, Slavic, Jewish, Chinese and African, as John Higham explains in his landmark history, “Strangers in the Land.”

It is a major escalation in the rhetoric against Trump in that the WAPO editorial page has been the most vocal pulpit in trying to agitate for a new war – Cold or otherwise – with Russia and the Pentagon now has the stance that the Bear is the greatest threat to the USA. It doesn’t bode well at all for Trump when influential newspapers begin to make such comparisons and it shows just how raw that he has rubbed the political elite. 

But worse is yet to come, Ignatius’s insertion of the “nativist” pejorative and the inclusion of “Jewish” Americans in the list of persecuted ethnic groups is laying the groundwork for the next big comparison. Trump will soon become the latest version of the New Hitler that is always rolled out when attacking the enemy du jour. It is already starting too, none other than Watergate squealer John Dean has just published a column that while not actually making the DNA match, conjures up Der Führer to malign Trump. Soon it will begin to bleed over to where his supporters will be labeled as brownshirts and even worse as the desperation of the establishment to retain their stranglehold upon the reins of power mounts.

The Terminator: New Poll Shows Indestructible Donald Trump Still Leading the Pack

He takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Insurgent outsider Donald Trump has once again survived everything that the establishment media can throw at him and has emerged relatively unscathed and still leading the pack. After three days of non-stop pounding over phantom comments he allegedly made about Fox News hostess Megyn Kelly having her period in the aftermath of the big Republican debate, the first reputable poll shows the Donald way out front of the competition. The party bosses, big time donors and media moguls have to be stunned that Trump - after having already survived the carpet bombing over the senile old fool John McCain that was to have done him in - has now come through the firestorm after another relentless media bombardment that would have destroyed lesser men.

The poll, conducted by Reuters/Ipsos has Trump still taking all of his competition for the Republican nomination to the woodshed by a large margin. Reuters reports on the failure to crush the most hated man in America in the story “Exclusive: Trump's Republican support holds strong post-debate - Reuters/Ipsos poll”:

Donald Trump continued to defy the laws of political gravity on Monday as a Reuters/Ipsos poll found the real estate mogul holding onto a wide lead among Republicans in the U.S. presidential race despite an acerbic debate and a feud with a female television anchor that have bolstered charges of sexism.

Trump led the party's 17-strong 2016 presidential field with the backing of 24 percent of Republican voters, unchanged from before Thursday's televised debate.

His closest rival, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, trails at 12 percent, down from 17 percent before the debate. No other candidate earned more than 8 percent in the online poll, conducted between the end of the debate and Sunday.

The reality television star has been under intense criticism for caustic comments about Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly during and after the debate, and was disinvited from a weekend gathering of conservative activists in Georgia after he said Kelly, who helped moderate the debate, had "blood coming out of her wherever."

Trump has been a focus of controversy since June, when he entered the race for the Republican nomination in the November 2016 election.

Harsh comments about Mexican immigrants drew widespread condemnation and prompted some business partners to sever ties, while his feud with Arizona Senator John McCain, the party's 2008 presidential nominee, has angered many party officials.

But the drama has done little so far to dent Trump's appeal among less affluent, conservative-leaning voters who say his brash style is needed to shake up an overly cautious political system and that his vast wealth would help him resist corrupting influences.

"They want someone who's an outsider, who can upset the applecart," said Craig Robinson, a former political director of the Iowa Republican Party. "They're willing to deal with a less-than-perfect candidate if they believe it will actually change things in Washington."

HBO’s smarmy comedian Bill Maher may have had it right when during this weekend’s show he stated that “Fox tried to put a stake in him and I don’t think they did” and that he could go all the way. The Reuters/Ipsos poll follows an earlier one conducted by NBC/Survey Money and confirms that the establishment may be badly underestimating Trump. He had been wittily tabbed as "Teflon Don" by the punditry but that doesn't do him justice, he's more like the fucking Terminator.

Establishment Media Expected Trump to Grovel, He Doesn’t

Perhaps all of the prancing around with insurgent Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s famous scalp on a stick was a wee bit premature. In the latest ginned up scandal that was being heralded as the torpedo amidships that would sink Trump’s campaign, the denunciations were fast and furious and GOP operatives were already divvying up the Donald’s support. However, once again, the billionaire outsider did not buckle one bit. If you listen to the mainstream media – something only a fool would do in this country anymore – Trump’s spat with Fox News top Kewpie doll Megyn Kelly and the phantom comment about her menstruating was a slam dunk to destroy him. The damage has yet to be seen but the bad man didn't exactly go into hiding after the onslaught.

Trump hit the Sunday morning McNews circuit to defend himself. CNN reports that “Donald Trump: No apology on 'blood' remark amid GOP backlash”:

Presidential candidate Donald Trump defended himself Sunday from the fierce backlash he's received for criticizing Fox News debate moderator Megyn Kelly, insisting he said nothing wrong and that he values women.

"I cherish women," the real estate mogul told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union," adding that he did not mean to imply that Kelly asked him sharp questions during the debate because she was menstruating.

"Who would say that?" Trump said Sunday. "Do you think I'd make a statement like that? Who would make a statement like that? Only a sick person would even think about that."

The extraordinary exchange with Tapper showed how quickly Trump has shifted from a frontrunner who seemingly defied the laws of politics to the public face of a campaign in turmoil.

"You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes," Trump said during an interview with CNN's Don Lemon on Friday night. "Blood coming out of her wherever."

Over the past 48 hours, Trump's own party has piled on to slam his incendiary choice of words, attacking with a vigor not seen during previous controversies during his presidential bid. The backlash has been more intense than what Trump faced over his previous comments on Mexican immigrants and Sen. John McCain's war-hero status. Several of his Republican presidential opponents and even far-right leaning conservatives have called his attack on Kelly offensive and said it was driven by gender.

Trump handled the moment in characteristic fashion -- refusing to give an inch to his detractors and telling Tapper he did "nothing wrong whatsoever."

It is astonishing to see what’s going down this weekend. Normally competing networks are loathe to give any credit to Fox News at all - usually they only bash it to smithereens - yet they are all coming together in a show of unity that is something akin to having been transported into a parallel universe. The Republicans especially are acting as though they are on acid or something, they are more determined to take down Trump than they are the grand succubus herself, Hillary Clinton. Even if this ‘all-in’ coordinated effort succeeds in finally slaying the Donald dragon one has to wonder whether the party has already inflicted upon itself a mortal wound that will bleed all the way into next November.

Attacked from the Rear: Lindsey Graham Calls for GOP to Dump Trump

The blood is in the water and the sharks are swimming in an orgiastic frenzy as the full fury of the establishment is turned on billionaire usurper Donald Trump. With Trump’s debate clash with Fox News bimbo Megyn Kelly – who is being treated like Mother Teresa today – triggering a shock and awe carpet bombing, sock puppet opponents are going in for the kill. The establishment is not about to let Trump wriggle off the hook again like he did when he deftly escaped the ambush over drooling old John McCain’s “war hero” hagiography. 

This time they are ready to crucify him upon the cross of political correctness based on a phantom statement about blood from Kelly’s vaginal orifice and Lindsey Graham is bringing the nails. Never mind that Trump never actually uttered a word even remotely associated with a woman’s sexual organs, the media was happy to put the words into his mouth and now, as the Fantastic Four’s Ben Grimm used to say: It’s clobberin’ time!

Leading the pack of attackers despite bringing up the rear in polls is the perpetually mouthy South Carolina Senator who is the belle of the ball of the Sunday morning talk show circuit. With his media friendly persona, the Palmetto State princess has now launched the trial balloon for what will likely be a full out effort by the GOP to oust Trump. The Washington Post conducted an interview with Mr. less than one percent in the story entitled “Graham says Trump is Inflicting Permanent Damage on GOP, Urges Party Leaders to Stop ‘tiptoeing’” from which I excerpt the following:

Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.) said Saturday that fellow presidential candidate Donald Trump's derogatory commentary has begun inflicting permanent and possibly fatal damage to the Republican Party brand and urged GOP leaders to stop "tiptoeing" around the billionaire businessman and to confront him directly and unequivocally.

In an interview with The Washington Post, Graham said Trump's personal attacks on Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly after she questioned him in Thursday night's primary debate were "an affront to all women" and undermine the Republican Party's urgent mission to appeal to more women voters.

“I think we’ve crossed that Rubicon, where his behavior becomes about us, not just him," Graham said. "I hope the party leadership will push hard. I hope that those seeking the nomination to be the standard bearer will unequivocally reject this. People gave Mr. Trump a pass on the [debate] stage. I understand that to a point, but we’ve crossed a line here that can’t be ignored. There can be no more tiptoeing around this.”

AND

Graham, a long-serving senator from South Carolina, was relegated to the undercard debate on Thursday because of his poor standing in national polls. He said the party's deep bench of talented candidates is being overshadowed and undermined by Trump, who helped draw a record cable television audience for the main debate.

"Everything is being placed in jeopardy by the antics of Mr. Trump and we’re at a crossroads as a party," Graham said. "The good news is that 24 million people watched the Republican debate. The bad news is that 24 million people watched the Republican debate."

Graham urged his fellow presidential candidates, as well as party leaders like Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, to state clearly that Trump's message "is not who we are, not where we're going to take the country and not what we believe."

“It’s just like driving by a car wreck without rendering aid," Graham said. "Donald Trump is an out of control car driving through a crowd of Republicans and somebody needs to get him out of the car. I just don’t see a pathway forward for us in 2016 to win the White House if we don’t decisively deal with this.”

Graham is correct that the Rubicon has indeed been crossed but the mock outrage over Trump’s altered comments about Ms. Kelly are nothing but a façade, something to sell to the chumps and rubes. What was Trump’s final offense? How about when during an exchange with Fox's Brett Baier during the debate when he stated that the entire system is a farce and that wealthy people like him are able to easily buy political influence.

BAIER: Mr. Trump, it’s not just your past support for single- payer health care. You’ve also supported a host of other liberal policies. Use — you’ve also donated to several Democratic candidates, Hillary Clinton included, Nancy Pelosi.

You explained away those donations saying you did that to get business-related favors.

And you said recently, quote, “When you give, they do whatever the hell you want them to do.”

TRUMP: You’d better believe it.

BAIER: So what specifically did… they do?

TRUMP: If I ask them, if I need them, you know, most of the people on this stage I’ve given to, just so you understand, a lot of money.

TRUMP: Many of them.

TRUMP: I will tell you that our system is broken. I gave to many people, before this, before two months ago, I was a businessman. I give to everybody. When they call, I give.

And do you know what?

When I need something from them two years later, three years later, I call them, they are there for me.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: So what did you get?

TRUMP: And that’s a broken system.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What did you get from Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi?

TRUMP: Well, I’ll tell you what, with Hillary Clinton, I said be at my wedding and she came to my wedding.

You know why?

She didn’t have a choice because I gave. I gave to a foundation that, frankly, that foundation is supposed to do good. I didn’t know her money would be used on private jets going all over the world. It was.

BAIER: Hold on. We’re going to — we’re going to move on.

Yes, Trump must go right now before the billionaires who are underwriting over a dozen other GOP candidates close their checkbooks to Reince Priebus and the RNC. America owes Donald Trump a debt of gratitude for those few minutes of truth broadcast on national television that would have never gotten through the media blockade otherwise.

Interestingly, Senator Graham's comments come only a day after he had acknowledged that if Trump were to win the Republican party nomination that he would "hold his nose" and "vote" for him.

Conservative Daily Kos Bans Donald Trump from Big Event

As the establishment fully embraces the phony Democrat “war on women” in the latest attempt to stop the momentum of the Trump revolution, those who seek to curry favor with the GOP party bosses are falling over themselves to pitch in. Take for example the conservative website Red State which is soaking up headlines for banning the Donald from their big annual whoop de doo where he was to have been the top guest.

Red State is the flip side of that den of iniquity of the great orange Satan over at Daily Kos. Like it’s yappy liberal sister, Red State has become an American Idol for bloggers as they seek to curry favor with the proprietors who brook no dissenting opinions and have become minor celebrities. I have had some liberal friends who have told me that Markos Moulitsas-Zuniga of DK is about as leftist as Stalin and RS overlord Erick Erikson seems to be his doppelganger on the so-called right. Erikson is a working class hero today – at least if you listen to the lamestream media – for telling Trump to pound sand and inviting poor, victimized Fox News teleprompter queen Megyn Kelly to speak in his place.

The knives are all out now, the story is getting saturation coverage and it has even gone international as World War Trump has now escaped it’s domestic containment. As reported by The Guardian in the story entitled “Donald Trump Banned from Major Event Over Menstruation Jibe at Megyn Kelly”:

Donald Trump has been officially banned from one of the biggest gatherings of conservative activists after implying he received hostile questioning during the first Republican presidential debate because the television moderator was menstruating.

Trump was uninvited from the RedState Gathering late on Friday after saying in a CNN interview that Fox News’s Megyn Kelly “had blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever”, while questioning him during Thursday night’s debate.

The real estate mogul had been scheduled to appear at a special tailgate at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta at the close of RedState Gathering on Saturday night.

Erick Erickson, the organizer of the event and a major conservative activist tweeted late on Friday night, “I have rescinded my invitation to Mr. Trump. While I have tried to give him great latitude, his remark about Megyn Kelly was a bridge too far.”

In a follow-up blog post, Erickson amplified why he was disinviting Trump: “there are even lines blunt talkers and unprofessional politicians should not cross,” he wrote. “Decency is one of those lines.”

Times and attitudes have certainly changed for Mr. Erickson when it comes to “decency”. He had once referred to former SCOTUS justice David Souter as a “goat fucking child molester” but such rhetoric isn’t exactly conducive to an upwardly mobile career path and the rewards that come from being a water carrier for the establishment.

With all of the coverage that it’s getting today by the drive by media after Trump was told to stay away, you would think that the RedState Gathering was akin to Jesus Christ’s sermon on the mount instead of a soiree that has much in common with the left’s Netroots Nation fiesta. Both are nothing more than a chance for a bunch of aspiring political operatives, media hacks and bloggers to gather in order to sniff the panties of the powerful in one big, loud, glad-handing circle jerk. Were it not for the war on Trump then the media wouldn’t waste ten seconds on it.

For the record, Trump’s comments about Kelly are somewhat dubious. He never did actually say that she was in fact spraying blood from her glory hole as has been universally reported by the electronic character assassination squads. In an attempt to clarify himself, the Donald has spoken. Reuters reports that “U.S.Candidate Trump Defends 'blood' Comment About Debate Moderator":

Trump, who was leading in polls going into the debate, thought Kelly was unfair in asking him about his previous comments on women.

"You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes," Trump said in a CNN interview on Friday. "Blood coming out of her wherever."

Erickson, who invited Kelly to replace Trump at the RedState conference, said he revoked Trump's invitation because he did not "want someone on stage who gets a hostile question from a lady and his first inclination is to imply it was hormonal."

The Trump campaign issued a statement on Saturday, saying, "Mr. Trump made Megyn Kelly look really bad - she was a mess with her anger and totally caught off guard. Mr. Trump said 'blood was coming out of her eyes and whatever' meaning nose, but wanted to move on to more important topics. Only a deviant would think anything else."

Trump also took to Twitter on Saturday to renounce politically correct attitudes, as he had done at the debate.

"So many 'politically correct' fools in our country," he wrote. "We have to all get back to work and stop wasting time and energy on nonsense!"

This country is drowning in political correctness horseshit but I never thought that I would see the day when so-called conservatives would steal the Democrats’ bogus “war on women” shtick and turn it into their own. Just like the botched attack on Trump over his not kissing the feet of “war hero” John McCain his comments are again being distorted. He did not at any time refer to Megyn Kelly’s va va and he is spot on that only a “deviant” would think of that particular body orifice first.

At GOP Debate Trump Triples Down on Threat of Third Party Run

The much heralded first Republican party debate is now in the books and depending on who you are it was either a big win for Donald Trump or that turning point that the establishment has been waiting on as though they were children fogging the windows in anticipation of the arrival of Santa Claus. It was apparent right out of the gate that the rules were going to be different for Trump because he is after all the party crasher who threatens to piss in the establishment snobs’ swimming pool. Don't underestimate how many careers are on the line with those who are heavily invested in the existing system at various levels of the GOP itself as well as the sixteen other campaigns, the media, political operatives and support networks. Trump puts all of that at risk because he has already has his own staff and plays by his own rules.

He was ambushed by Fox's blonde bombshell bimbo Megyn Kelly over a question about Trump's alleged misogyny and demeaning comments towards females, in particular the dumpster in a dress Rosie O'Donnell . She could have just as well been acting on behalf of Hillary Clinton in nailing the crown of thorns of the phony Democrat “war on women” to the head of the leader of the polls. Trump was also immediately put on the spot over his refusal to abide to a loyalty oath to promise not to run as a third party candidate – which he refused.

Donald Trump opened up the prime-time Fox News debate with fireworks, saying he will not rule out a run as a third-party independent.

Moderator Bret Baier asked all the candidates to raise their hand if they could not immediately dedicate themselves to supporting the eventual nominee, and not run as a third-party candidate.

Trump, standing center stage, raised his hand. None of the other candidates did.

Baier asked whether Trump understood that raising his hand meant he would potentially run as a third-party nominee, even though most people agreed that would likely hand the White House to the Democrats.

“I understand,” Trump said multiple times. “I can totally make that pledge if I am the nominee, I will not run as independent.”

“We will win but I want to win as the Republican, I want to run as the Republican nominee,” he added.

The GOP establishment is terrified of Trump running as a third party candidate like Ross Perot did back in 1992 but the harping that it would only put Hillary Clinton into the White House is bullshit. The Queen has a boatload of problems right now, any one of which could result in an indictment that could end her crusade and leave the Dems without a replacement. Trump however is the skunk at the party and RNC boss Reince Priebus must be getting an earful this morning from all of the billionaires who seem to own their own candidates this election (like NASCAR sponsors) and who have to be furious that a guy who is as rich as them is seen as a hero to a good chunk of the party base. This must be a Starship Troopers sized bug up the fat ass of Sheldon Adelson. Priebus immediately flew into damage control mode, reiterating that Trump won’t bolt the GOP and that “Going third party’s a death wish”.

Trump is spot on too when he says that taking the Priebus pledge would deprive him of leverage so for the time being the establishment is in a real pickle in dealing with Trump who was unhappy with some of the questions as well he should be. So today, as the analysis of the debate pours in and the political operatives and presstitutes manage the spin cycle there will be a concerted effort to show that Trump’s refusal to rule out bolting the party as damaging to him in the polls. The modern incarnation of Hitler's Minister of Propaganda Joseph Goebbels – Frank Luntz – is already on the job and the Sunday morning bloviation circuit will be booking any warm body who will argue that Trump's run at the top of the polls if finally over now.

Break Out the Tin Foil Hats: Washington Post Insinuates that Trump is a Clinton Mole

Incapable of wrapping their minds around exactly why it is that billionaire outsider Donald Trump has rocketed to the top of polls, the establishment is desperate to find a reason to explain how such a thing could possibly happen. The so-called professional consultants, pollsters and political ‘pros’ never saw the overwhelmingly positive public reaction to the Donald coming and these are people who are paid a lot of money to conduct focus groups and studies that treat Americans like stupid lab rats.

Now, on the eve of the first 2016 Republican debate – a debate that the party bosses never wanted Trump to be in – the Washington Post has resorted to crackpot conspiracy theories to explain the Trump phenomenon. Most notably a phone call between Trump and Bill “Slick Willie” Clinton right before he declared his candidacy that just must make Mr. Trump a puppet of the Clinton crime family.

Politico reports on the Trump-Bubba call in the story “Report: Bill Clinton Talked With Donald Trump as He Was Considering White House Run”:

Bill Clinton didn’t tell Donald Trump to run for president, but he reportedly didn’t say not to, either.

The former president and husband to 2016 Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton had a private phone call with the real estate mogul in late May, according to The Washington Post, which cited aides to both Bill Clinton and Trump.

While the timing is interesting — the call came well after Hillary Clinton had thrown her hat in the ring and just weeks before Trump formally announced his White House run — what was discussed appears to be in dispute.

An aide to Clinton reportedly said the presidential race was never specifically discussed. Trump allies, however, said Trump was explicit about his potential interest in a White House bid and that Clinton then analyzed Trump’s prospects, according to the Post.

What the sources from both camps agreed upon, however, was that Clinton did not urge Trump to run.

Despite there being a long-standing relationship between the Clintons and Trump, both professional and personal, the report taps into the conspiracy theories that Trump is carrying some water for Democrats.

The Trump truthers will point to the original story published by the gospel of the imperial city, the Washington Post as proof of the conspiracy. The WAPO it must be noted is the preeminent forum for the influential neocon gaggle who believe that war is the answer to all problems as well they should considering that the military industrial complex and security state are the primary employers of millions in Washington and the surrounding areas. Their very livelihoods depend on a state of permanent war that justifies the confiscation of taxpayer dollars at the expense of anything that actually may benefit them instead of a small, corrupt and entrenched elite. An outsider like Trump may shake things up by – GASP- actually putting America first and directing more taxpayer dollars to securing our own damned border rather than the borders of Iraq and Ukraine and that just can’t be allowed to happen.

It will be interesting to see if one of the lesser candidates – perhaps an ankle biter like Marco Rubio – will bring up the Clinton call during the big debate tonight. It definitely plays into the narrative of the loons and whack jobs like Rubio’s fellow Cuban nutcase, Miami Congressman Carlos Curbelo who was babbling about Trump being a Clinton plant last month. Being a businessman – and therefore needing to play both sides politically – it isn’t exactly a bizarre occurrence or a smoking gun that Trump would talk to Slick Willie who has a history of being chummy with many Republicans.
