Neocons Squeal Like Stuck Pigs Over Ukraine Referendum

You had to know that the neocons weren't going to go down easy after Sunday's overwhelming vote by anti-fascist, US-EU-NATO enforced austerity opponents in East Ukraine to reject the illegitimately installed puppet regime in Kiev. It is the utmost of irony in that the regime changers whose presence within the US corridors of power have eaten away at the foundations of American democracy like a colony of Formosan termites actually managed to bring "democracy" to Ukraine but in typical William Kristol style keening outrage are apoplectic that their will was rejected by the actual people who would be affected. The spreading of "democracy" - which when applied on foreign soil amounts to the spreading of fresh manure is the rallying cry for the chickenhawk squadrons as they pursue global US conquest at gunpoint. In the vision of our Founding Fathers one would think that today would be a proud moment when America actually practiced what she preached by seeing the victims of the red, white and blue jackboot rise up in unison to cast off the chains at the ballot boxes despite the presence of neo-Nazis and fascists using violence and voter suppression to prevent them from that God given right of self-determination.
Erupting from the roiling sewer of filth that is Foggy Bottom - home of the bumbling ass clown Skull and Bones alum that is John F. Kerry as well as Victoria "Fuck the EU" Nuland (aka Nudelman) - was a braying of outrage, whining, lies and propaganda that is the hallmark of sore losers. The State Department rapidly issued an official "press release" screed calling the anti-fascist referendum out as illegitimate - no mention to the cookie woman and the illegally installed "Yats" regime being such but that can be expected for an institution that has come to oppose any thing that represents morality and traditional American values:
As the United States has said, the referenda being planned for May 11 in portions of eastern Ukraine by armed separatist groups are illegal under Ukrainian law and are an attempt to create further division and disorder. If these referenda go forward, they will violate international law and the territorial integrity of Ukraine. The United States will not recognize the results of these illegal referenda.
In addition, we are disappointed that the Russian government has not used its influence to forestall these referenda since President Putin’s suggestion on May 7 that they be postponed, when he also claimed that Russian forces were pulling back from the Ukrainian border.
Unfortunately, we still see no Russian military movement away from the border, and today Kremlin-backed social media and news stations encouraged residents of eastern Ukraine to vote tomorrow, one even offering instructions for polling stations in Moscow. Russian state media also continue to strongly back the referenda with no mention of Putin’s call for postponement.
The focus of the international community must now be on supporting the Ukrainian government’s consistent efforts to hold a presidential election on May 25. International observers note that preparations for these elections are proceeding apace and in accordance with international standards, which will allow all Ukrainian people a voice in the future of their country. According to recent independent polls, a substantial majority of Ukrainians intend to vote on May 25. Any efforts to disrupt this democratic process will be seen clearly for what they are, attempts to deny the rights of Ukraine’s citizens to express their political will freely.
As President Obama and Chancellor Merkel stated on May 2, the Russian leadership must know that if it continues to destabilize eastern Ukraine and disrupt this month’s presidential election, we will move quickly to impose greater costs on Russia.
The Russian government can still choose to implement its Geneva commitments, as well as follow through on President Putin’s statement of May 7. We call on them to do so.
Totally laughable in that the now flogged to death fake devil that is Vladimir Putin has warned not to "disrupt" the upcoming presidential "election" which is an always has been a farce and a rigged game by the Empire. When you are choosing between such luminaries as the   "The Chocolate King" and the "Gas Princess" you are pretty well fucked but that just doesn't seem to resonate in a land where our fine and vaunted choices come November 2016 will in all probability be named Clinton and Bush. The Ukrainian people are not stupid enough to just sit back and get it rammed up their asses by two corrupt oligarchs working for the same interests like the sheep here in the land of the free and the home of the brave (ha ha ha - sardonic laughter). And as far as official US State Department statements, given the lunatics running the asylum charade under the 'leadership' of Kerry they are about as useful as kitty litter box liner.
Then there is the missing airplane network CNN dutifully parroting neocon propaganda as is typical with tales of voter fraud at the polls. One would think that after being humiliated over the imbecile responsible for posting that very telling graphic incorrectly showing that the geographic location of East Ukraine was in Pakistan that they would just stick to the panty-sniffing celebrity scandals and other tawdry sleaze but hey - it is America's NUMBER ONE name in news and serves as a testament to the triumph of the willfully ignorant.
So we will continue to be fed bullshit biscuits by our corrupt, immoral war criminal leaders and their rotten to the core institutions as well as their bordering on parody media machine - how long will it take until Americans finally stand up on their own damned hind legs and bite back against their exploiters and oppressors just like the freedom loving people in East Ukraine are doing?
The clock is ticking.....

Return of “the Decider” - Obama Disagrees With Privacy Board Report

Former U.S. President George W. Bush was widely mocked for his now infamous utterance in the course of defending Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld -  "I'm the decider, and I decide what's best". Bush passed into history as one of the least popular and disastrous leaders in American history but now his once immensely popular successor, Barack Obama is giving the man a run for his money.  Obviously more than a bit miffed over Thursday’s bombshell report by the report released by the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board rebutting Obama’s ongoing defense of the indefensible the current occupant of the White House bristled, disagreeing with the report. Delivering the message through chief flack Jay Carney (a paid liar) our great leader, sold to a gullible public as a constitutional law professor demonstrated that he has just as much actual reverence for the principles expressed in that document as his predecessor (“a goddamned piece of paper”) with the following:“On the issue of [Section] 215, we simply disagree with the board’s analysis on the legality of the program”. So there we have it, the return of the unaccountable unitary executive but you could say that he never really left.
The specters of Bush and Cheney have hovered over the Obama administration since day one, the NSA programs, especially the data-mining and storage of metadata (which is an index to actual content) all a part of a tragic enabling act that was urgently pushed through a supine Congress while the scent of rotting flesh still hung in the lower Manhattan air after 9/11. The USA PATRIOT Act laid the foundation for the final implementation of the surveillance/police state as well as punched our collective ticket to demise as our once vibrant democracy and system of checks and balances were reduced to wreckage much as the twin towers themselves.  Wars were started, the NSA snooping and compiling of the most intimate details of tens of millions of law-abiding Americans picked up steam and the public was mentally bludgeoned into accepting their own eventual enslavement by a government gone rogue through the greatest mind control device known to mankind, their televisions. For years Republicans had a chokehold on the political system fueled by keeping the befuddled masses in a state of constant dread thanks to regular ‘terrorist’ alerts as well as a color coded threat level matrix that was used largely at times for political gain.
Americans saw that the Bush-Cheney regime had overstepped their bounds and done so badly so in 2008 they put their faith into a young Senator from Illinois who promised hope and change as well as transparency and voted Barack Obama into office. Now in the first year of his second term Obama has not only failed to provide the promised transparency but has become one of the greatest defenders of the secret state, secret courts and the massive and illegal surveillance colossus that holds it all together. Never has one man failed so many and the rejection of Thursday’s report by his rotten administration is just the latest example that he has been fully assimilated by the corrupt system, that is if he wasn’t just being a politician and lying his ass off about everything in the first place.
With Barry and the boys now firmly in control with three years to go and not having to worry about being re-elected the mask is now off and Americans will just have deal with having to finance their own government spying on them. Obama is on record as being committed to only the most meager and vague cosmetic changes to the NSA Stasi’s compiling their electronic dossiers for the day when the order comes to deal with the troublemakers, only they will by then be called “terrorists”, as Hermann Goering once famously summed it up: “It works the same way in any country.” But Obama is doing immense and irreparable damage to liberalism itself, not the Rush Limbaugh/Fox News/John Bircher definition but the classic concept itself. Never one to shy away from scathing broadsides delivered to hypocrites libertarian Justin Raimondo weighs in today at Antiwar.com in his column “The Snowden Effect and the Liberal Implosion” from which I excerpt:
We haven’t seen anything like this since the Vietnam war era: an administration caught red-handed illegally and systematically spying on Americans in the midst of an increasingly unpopular war. At that time, too, the political class was badly divided, with the hard-liners circling their wagons against the rising tide of popular outrage and the dissenters auguring a new and not-so-Silent Majority.
AND –
With the news that the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board (PCLOB) has handed in a report declaring the National Security Agency’s meta-data dragnet flat out illegal it is clear that Edward Snowden’s revelations have badly split a political class that was once pretty much united in its fulsome support for the national security status quo. This comes on the heels of a new poll that shows the majority of Americans oppose the NSA’s data dragnet – with an even larger majority contending that the main danger to their welfare is their own government.
AND –
We saw this Janus-faced persona in Obama’s mien as he campaigned against the Bush administration’s overreach in the Middle East – and then tried to pull a fast one in Syria, a scheme nixed by an outbreak of popular outrage. We saw it as he looked us straight in the eye and told us his is the most transparent administration in modern times – and then did nothing when his Director of National Intelligence denied collecting data on American citizens and was exposed as a liar practically the next day.
Power as we have been made so painfully aware of in the era after “the day that changed everything” is corrosive and corrupting, it can be said that only the worst are attracted to it. Obama’s defense of the ongoing disemboweling of the Constitution shows that power will do everything to not only erect systems of totalitarianism to protect it and those who finance the corrupt politicians make the laws but that will destroy whatever vestiges of the America that existed on September 10, 2001 to ensure that it is never threatened by the rabble.
The most damning part of our rapidly collapsing society is that the same ‘liberals’ who decried all of the abuses of Bush and Cheney in a full-throated roar are now lining up behind Obama as he continues to lead the march to the gates of Hell itself.

Privacy For the Elite, Not the Peasantry

Befitting a land of parasitical crony capitalism and a political class that operates with impunity outside of the established laws the Obama administration and NSA allies in congress are finally being mobilized into action by oligarchic anger. As the week unwound with report after report of surveillance of foreign leaders, allies at that the privileged occupiers of the U.S. government moved to at least cosmetically reign in the spying - on the elite, as for the peasantry well let them eat wiretaps. The besieged Barry seems to be cornered - finally for his inability/unwillingness to get his NSA Stasi under control as well as for  the botching of the Obamacare website roll out, a dysfunctional mess that has seen recent polls including this one from NBC/WSJ  having his approval rating in freefall. Not that polling in this country isn't a joke, you can make a poll reflect any desired result based on the type of questioning as well as the samples used but people I know, even O-Bots are rapidly losing faith in their once messianic leader. After five plus years of Obama's reign the change promised has been of the chump change variety. Yet media apologists and shills continue, I must say that the most astonishing thing that I have recently heard was the MSNBC megaphone Chris Matthews talking Barry up as the Dow rose to record levels (never mind that QE bubble) as the man who - "kills our enemies and he makes us rich, so why are you bitching?" on Tuesday's Hardball.  I believe that David Gregory may now have a legitimate challenger as the most dishonest and slimy media propagandist in the land.

Breaking with a unified establishment line of defense against NSA spying, none other than Senator Dianne Feinstein has called for "reforms" in the aftermath of the revelations that German Chancellor Angela Merkel was being surveilled since 2002. This is what it takes to get Di Fi riled up, she has up until this week defended every unconstitutional transgression of the NSA as long as it was being used to spy on millions of law abiding American citizens but when it is one of the global political elite that is of course a different story.  The stench of hypocrisy hangs heavy in the air along the Potomac as it always does but it is growing more fragrant by the day with the tales of snooping dropping out practically every day now and includes the leadership class. Justin Raimondo over at Antiwar.com once again pegs it in his most recent column entitled Surveillance Is for Peons from which I excerpt:

It’s fun to watch the consternation in Obama-land as the blowback from the Snowden revelations lands on Washington’s doorstep in the form of angry phone calls from world leaders. Of course, most of them were to some extent complicit when the NSA wanted to spy on their countrymen: in Germany, the intelligence services cooperated with the Americans, as the Brits certainly did, along with the French. It’s just that they thought they were personally exempt.

Their outrage is echoed by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, once the Senate’s biggest champion of the Surveillance State, who is now on the warpath because of the Merkel eavesdropping scandal. After announcing she is "totally opposed" to NSA spying on our European allies, she declared her intention to conduct a comprehensive formal review of US intelligence-gathering programs.
While many commentators remarked that if the NSA has even lost Feinstein they’re screwed, the oddity of her unexpectedly harsh reaction was pointed out by Spencer Ackerman and Dan Roberts writing in the UK Guardian: "Her position," they noted, "left many longtime intelligence observers puzzled. NSA spying on foreign leaders is far more traditional than its domestic bulk collection, which Feinstein has not criticized. Regardless of Feinstein’s motivations, intelligence veterans seemed to understand that the political momentum is not on their side."

But the rabble is continuing to push back. The hated by the establishment Justin Amash has joined with the PATRIOT Act author James Sensenbrenner to push legislation that would reign in the out of control NSA  “The days of unfettered spying on the American people are numbered”. NSA Stasi Commandant Keith Alexander invoked the terror talisman by urging congress that to “give up a program that would result in this nation being attacked”.  The reason why we are “hated” and why others would want to attack this nation is because of freaks such as he and his fellow warmongering militarists. When you invade, murder, torture and destroy other countries for the benefit of energy cartels, defense industry giants and other mega-corporations to expect anything other than hatred and counter attacks is sheer lunacy. Over a half century of U.S. policy and the wars and oppression of others may sell well with the television addled schmucks here in The Homeland but the civilized world outside these borders understands this. There has yet to be credible evidence that NSA surveillance on millions of American citizens has stopped even one terrorist attack – if it was so efficient then why didn’t it stop the Boston Marathon bombers? The only plots busted up are either those of fools or of those induced into actions through acts of government entrapment that justifies the continued looting of taxpayers to finance their own enslavement at the hands of those who should be standing in the dock at The Hague rather than running this nation’s military and intelligence programs.

I have long maintained that the best chance that we still have to prevent a future of tyranny is to find a unifying cause that will unite libertarians, principled conservatives and antiwar, pro-civil liberties progressives against Leviathan and this just may be it. The weekend's Washington "Stop Watching Us" rally was a diverse gathering that would seem to indicate that this is at least theoretically possible. Forget the liberals, they are useless and too invested in a myriad of identity group based crusades and also forget the dregs of society that comprise the Republican party base, primarily the decidedly pro-fascist religious right that hijacked the libertarian tea party and now is seen coalescing around the Texas Zamboni Ted Cruz.  They have finally found their Führer and hell will have no fury like a takeover by zealots who are already salivating over using the police state and spying apparatus against their many enemies, generating pickup lists of who they deem to be sexual deviants, intellectuals and defenders of liberty .

Both of those groups are a part of the problem and should be shunned as lepers by any sane and patriotic American. The collapse is coming, while swine the likes of Chris Matthews gloat about the record levels of the stock market it is all as temporary as it is phony, capitalism has left the building in this once great country and the markets can no longer function without the constant heroin fixes provided by the government. It is all going to blow up sooner or later, whether it be two weeks, two years or a decade but it cannot be sustained. It is imperative that the NSA be stopped now because all of this surveillance of American citizens is going to be weaponized and used against any and all who attempt to hold the scoundrels accountable for the coming systemic wreckage.

Seymour Hersh Rips State Media - Questions bin Laden Assassination

“The republic’s in trouble, we lie about everything, lying has become the staple.”

-Seymour Hersh

It has been awhile but legendary investigative journalist Seymour Hersh has surfaced and he is back with a vengeance. In comments published by The Guardian Hersh rips the corporate-state U.S. media as pathetic and calls them out for their unwillingness to go after Barack H. Obama who he correctly pegs as being worse than Bush. This is a sentiment that I have had for a good while now because at least Bush never pretended that he was anything other than a bully, a warmonger and a festering wart on the ass of America. Obama being the phony that he has always been, a president as product sold by spin doctors, public relations and advertising pros as some kind of transcendant figure to a willfully ignorant and easily distracted public. Hersh blasts El Presidente - “Do you think Obama’s been judged by rational standards? Has Guantanamo closed? Is a war over? Is anyone paying any attention ot Iraq? Is he seriously talking about going into Syria? We are not doing so well in the 80 wars we are in right now, what the hell does he want to go into another one for?”  Though words and predictably he is being eviscerated by the establishment media attack dogs, so savagely that you would think that he had dared to piss upon their precious “exceptionalism” like Putin did.

The American media is a joke in every country on the planet save one being our deteriorating and soon to implode from within star spangled lemming colony. Hersh is one of the last of a dying breed, an investigative journalist who has never hesitated to question the accumulation and abuse of power whether it be the Mai Lai massacre or the ongoing efforts of the Bush-Cheney regime to start another war in Iran. Hersh also rubbed the establishment’s nose in the blood and shit of the Abu Ghraib prison torture parties, a blight upon this country’s image and reputation that will be indelibly affixed as though it were a scarlet letter of shame. After being a burr up the ass of the Bush regime for years he was exiled to the fringes by the corporate-state media after his 2011 Bridge too far speech where he banished to the fringes for speaking of Dick Cheney’s  JSOC assassination squads and the crusader elements within the military, specifically the Knights of Malta.

It’s nice to see him back kicking ass and taking names, calling out the worthless pressitututes as the betrayers of the First Amendment that they truly are. But Hersh is not content to only kick the corporate media around, he is also calling bullshit on Barry’s greatest foreign policy achievement – the killing of Osama bin Laden. The snuffing of the bad assed bogeyman during that Seal Team Six (which greedball Disney sought to copyright before being rebuffed) raid and the prancing around with the bloody scalp was Barry’s crowning foreign policy achievement, never mind the drone strikes when you can reel in the kingfish. But the question always has been was it staged? Hersh blasphemes the sanctified official story as I excerpt from The Guardian piece:

Don’t even get him started on the New York Times which, he says, spends “so much more time carrying water for Obama than I ever thought they would” – or the death of Osama bin Laden. “Nothing’s been done about that story, it’s one big lie, not one word of it is true,” he says of the dramatic US Navy Seals raid in 2011.

Hersh is writing a book about national security and has devoted a chapter to the bin Laden killing. He says a recent report put out by an “independent” Pakistani commission about life in the Abottabad compound in which Bin Laden was holed up would not stand up to scrutiny. “The Pakistanis put out a report, don’t get me going on it. Let’s put it this way, it was done with considerable American input. It’s a bullshit report,” he says hinting of revelations to come in his book.

If the Knights of Malta crusader speech pissed off the pocket media kingmakers this will send them into a frenzy of retribution, smacking their laptop keys as if they were truncheons with which to ruthlessly bludgeon the infidel Hersh for his blasphemy.

Personally I have always found the official story of the daring Zero Dark Thirty commando raid that resulted in the “death” of bin Laden to be more than a bit suspect. Of course the lack of a body is one thing that would elicit skepticism, the ongoing refusal of the Obama administration and their congressional cronies to release the pictures of the alleged dead man are another reason for doubt. I always thought that the man was already dead and dead long ago, it would have taken a near superhuman being to be able to survive hiding out in remote caves from a relentless U.S. military search and destroy mission while dragging around a dialysis machine.

He was though a useful monster to be dragged out whenever the political leaders and military needed to scare the sheeple into bleating their consent. Hersh again nails it - “But I don’t know if it’s going to mean anything in the long [run] because the polls I see in America – the president can still say to voters ‘al-Qaida, al-Qaida’ and the public will vote two to one for this kind of surveillance, which is so idiotic,”  - he is speaking of the post Edward Snowden knowledge of Obama's NSA Stasi. In the short term there is some minor outrage being uprooted, the latest that General Keith Alexander's trillion dollar voyeurs are accumulating relational data on American citizens from social networking sites. He is right of course, the scrutiny will eventually peter out and the fascist machine will emerge stronger than ever after erecting the necessary barriers to any future truth telling.

But Hersh will be made to pay for his bin Laden comments, he is already being brutalized by the vicious anti-Muslim bigot and shill for Middle East wars David Horowitz, a wretched troll and former hippie who holds court at  Front Page Magazine, a rag that ranks right up there with Der Stürmer when it comes to hate mongering.  You must be doing something right when one of the inspirations for Norwegian mass murder Anders Breivik is calling you out as a "compulsive liar".  He will of course also be flogged by the standard scum that passes for a mainstream media in this lamentable land of lies, greed and violence - bottom feeders will feast as they circle the wagons to protect their pampered lives of privilege as enablers of criminals.

But back to Osama bin Laden, whether he was actually snuffed by Obama's military operation or died years ago his entire existence served as a lie to protect U.S. imperialist interests. He was after all quite useful for the Mujahadeen while a part of the CIA backed rebels in 1980's Afghanistan.  Maybe the real truth of the bin Laden story is that his former sponsors and associates within the American establishment finally just wanted to write the end to his story, tie up that last loose end because to do anything else would ensure a demise, sucked under in the quicksand bog of the wars without end. There never would have been an exit from the now twelve years running U.S. presence in the same Afghanistan that chewed up the Brits and Soviets.  Were it to have actually occurred the bin Laden execution always conjured up the scene from the classic film Apocalypse Now  where when finally reaching the river's end Captain Willard is delivered to the compound of Colonel Kurtz who had gone rogue and was as a result marked for death by his own country's military leadership in order to terminate his command:

Kurtz: Did they say why, Willard, why they want to terminate my command?
Willard: I was sent on a classified mission, sir.
Kurtz: It's no longer classified, is it? What did they tell you?
Willard: They told me that you had gone totally insane, and that your methods were unsound.
Kurtz: Are my methods unsound?
Willard: I don't see any method at all, sir.
Kurtz: I expected someone like you. What did you expect? Are you an assassin?
Willard: I'm a soldier.
Kurtz: You're neither. You're an errand boy, sent by grocery clerks, to collect a bill.

Osama bin Laden was never going to stand trial, not in this Empire, not with what he knew and his chits were called in accordingly. Whether it was in that Pakistani safe house or years earlier the man simply knew too much and so it goes.

Really, why should anyone believe one damned thing that comes out of this government where as Hersh so aptly put it - we lie about everything, lying has become the staple
