Ukraine: The US Government is Lying about Everything

With the cat out of the bag about exactly what type of “freedom fighters” that the US is backing in Ukraine thanks largely to the selfie video of Svoboda party thugs pummeling a television executive it is obvious to any and all outside of The Homeland cocoon that the Obama regime is lying their asses off.  The fortified stone wall of bullshit that is the US state-corporate media parroting the official line on what was a neocon instigated overthrow of a democratically elected leader who had just agreed to placate protesters with early elections is astounding. It brings to mind the march towards the attack upon and subsequent occupation of Iraq, a country that did not even remotely threaten the US by the Bush administration and the neocon ideologues that drove policy in the early years of the new American century. The wall to wall vilification of Saddam Hussein was the prototype for the ongoing spree of demagoguery directed at Russian president Vladimir Putin and which has been so withering that it is obvious that this is all about more than Ukraine. It is about Snowden and Syria as well as a pitched battle to save what is the fully mutated form of parasitic global finance capitalism.

The video of the beating of Ukraine state television boss Oleksandr Panteleymonov went viral to the extent that even the corrupt US media had to acknowledge it. The antics of Senator John McCain’s neo-Nazi pals however was spun accordingly and dishonestly in this AP story “Ukraine Nationalist Antics Seen as Gift to Russia” from which I excerpt:

The assault, which prompted condemnation in the West, presents an important test for Ukraine's new pro-Western government.

First, it's eager to show a modern, democratic face to the world as it enters a landmark political association pact with the European Union. Perhaps more gravely, the nationalist violence plays directly into the hands of Russia's propaganda spinners: State-controlled media eagerly used the incident to portray Kiev's leadership as a hive of radical nationalists who terrorize Russian speakers, justifying the Kremlin's moves to protect them in Ukraine.

Tensions are high in Ukraine as the government debates whether to pull its troops from the Crimean peninsula, where Russian forces are seizing Ukrainian ships and evicting soldiers from military bases. Crimeans are eagerly lining up to apply for Russian passports, while Russian tanks and troops amass near the border with eastern Ukraine.

For Ihor Miroshnichenko, a lawmaker with the nationalist Svoboda party, those scenes of Russian domination were all too much.

And the broadcast of Russian celebrations seemed to add insult to injury.

To vent his rage, he led a group of Svoboda colleagues in storming the office of the First National channel's chief, Oleksandr Panteleymonov, used an insulting term used to describe Russians and punched him repeatedly, while an aide recorded the scene on video.

"Today Ukraine is in a state of war and in a state of partial occupation by Russia. And when war is going on, giving the air to the enemy — I believe it is state treason," Miroshenichenko, a former journalist who sits on the parliamentary committee on freedom of speech, told the Hromadske online television channel.

"I cannot imagine that Poland which was occupied by Hitler would give him airtime on the radio so that Fuhrer could explain his position."

Miroshnichenko admitted that he may have overreacted — although he refused to acknowledge that he actually beat Panteleymonov.

The TV executive said in a statement Friday that he is ready to leave his post, but only if there is a legitimate government decision to replace him.

Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk condemned the assault as undemocratic.

"These are not our methods," Yatsenyuk said in a statement. "A country which is going toward the European Union will continue to profess the basic principles and values of the European Community."

His position is complicated by the fact that Svoboda, a vocal force in parliament that took part in the protests that ousted the pro-Russian government, received several key posts in the Cabinet — including prosecutor general, the very figure who will be in charge of investigating the TV station attack.

The United States said it was "deeply offended by this incident, which was not an exercise in patriotism, but instead a reminder of the thug-like tactics previously employed by the Yanukovych regime," the U.S. Embassy in Kiev said in a statement. "This behavior has no place in a Ukraine committed to defending democracy, civil liberties, and individual freedoms, particularly press freedoms."

A sheer masterpiece of obfuscation, spin and pure bullshit is on display and the piece should serve as a vital inclusion in any textbooks on the required reading list for Goebbels 101.The Miroshnichenko excuse that he “may have overreacted” could only be taken seriously in a land where gun violence has become so commonplace that a man could be gunned down in cold blood in a Florida movie theater because of a similar overreaction that a box of popcorn was a threat to one’s safety, there are far too many other examples of such overreactions and the Miroshnichenko excuse is hogwash. The line about the “thug-like tactics previously employed by the Yanukovych regime” stretches the bounds of audacity as does the overarching theme of the piece itself which paints the thug as the victim. It is however no small defeat for the neocons and their propagandists in that they were forced to put out a story at all even if it was just a potpourri of fibs for damage control purposes.

The most problematic aspect of this entire bringing “democracy” to Ukraine and proxy war on Putin farce to the establishment is the prevalence of vicious neo-Nazis and fascists in the western puppet government of Arseniy “Yats” Yatsenyuk. The pictures of our de facto president John McCain palling around with them should be eliciting some serious questions about exactly the sort of vermin that the US taxpayer is subsidizing. Anyone with a computer and the ability to use Google can easily find the sordid histories of McCain’s friends and their deplorable anti-Semitism – where is the ADL and the rest of the Israel Lobby on all of this? Their absence is a damning indictment of their agenda which is more about exerting influence on US foreign and domestic policy – as in the ongoing attacks on free speech at American universities – and one would think that if they had any credibility that they would be asking very serious questions about the composition of the recently installed government in Kiev.

If there is any one writer who continually amazes me with his ability to cut through the bullshit it is Justin Raimondo of Antiwar.com, a website that is such a thorn in the side of the imperial warfare state that it was under surveillance by the FBI which is a badge of honor in this lamentable land of apple pie authoritarianism. Raimondo’s most recent piece entitled “Ukraine’s Mysterious Snipers” brings up the Obama-Neocon joint venture’s neo-Nazi problem. I excerpt the following:

There is nothing subtle about the views of Svoboda and Right Sector, the two parties which have moved into the leadership of the coupist "interim government": the former used to be called the "Social National Party," and was founded as a memorial to the views of Stepan Bandera, leader of the World War II pro-Nazi militia that fought the Russians and directly participated in the Holocaust. Right Sector, a paramilitary group in charge of "security" at the Maidan, is even more extreme; it was formed from the merger of several militant neo-Nazi groups, including "White Hammer" and "Trident." Neo-Nazis have come from all over Europe to join in Ukraine’s "national revolution.

Sooner or later, the ugliness of what is occurring in Ukraine is going to come out: you can’t hide a neo-Nazi "national revolution" under the very thin veneer of a "pro-EU" protest forever. And these guys are particularly unpretty – little more than thugs masquerading as political "activists." There is entirely too much to sweep under the rug here – and the lumps in the fabric are already showing.

And the lumps will only get more obvious as reports from those being beaten and politically persecuted in Ukraine continue to seep out which they inevitably will given a bit of time. The official denial that the US is backing and funding an un-democratically installed coup government infested with fascists and neo-Nazis has to this point been dismissed as so much Putin propaganda. However, as anyone who has observed the long and painful decline of what was once a powerful democracy into a dystopian society where the media has become nothing more than a propaganda organ for the now fully rogue Deep State that only uses the visible government as an exoskeleton it serves as just one more official lie on top of a mountain of them.

Kerry to Kiev as Neocon Washington Post Wails for War

Secretary of State John Kerry, fresh off of his whirlwind tour of the Sunday morning lie factories is heading to Kiev to bolster the illegitimate western backed government that just toppled democratically elected President Viktor Yanukovych. Kerry has been dispatched with a mandate from the narcissist in chief Barack Obama to ensure that the loathed Russian leader Vladimir Putin is made to lick the star-spangled jackboots of Uncle Sam for his recalcitrance in saving Snowden from one of Obama’s torture black sites and then intervening to stop the war on Syria. The Skull and Bones pedigreed Kerry, with his phony Vietnam war hero mystique and his great wealth from marrying into the Heinz Ketchup family fortune has a full head of steam and the wind in his sails as he will slither into the Kiev HQ of the chosen new boss whose reign is as bogus as those “freedom fighters” that the U.S. state media likes to tout as heroes of democracy while conveniently ignoring that they are chock a block with right-wing extremists, fascists and full blown neo-Nazis.

The entire corrupt domestic media has Kerry’s back – at least as long as his extended stammering about such horseshit as “democracy” and accusing Putin of being the second coming of Satan doesn’t cut into their 24/7 gavel to gavel coverage of the Oscar Pistorious trial. Nowhere is the propaganda of a long ago discredited media spewed forth like so much electronic manure as it is at the Neocon beacon of lies and jingoism that is The Washington Post. Whatever hope that the acquisition of the one-time crown jewel of Operation  Mockingbird by Amazon’s Jeff Bezos would result in a giant enema nozzle being inserted into the building – preferably at the foot of the desk of the as prolific as she is insipid Jennifer Rubin and the bulb being given a good hard squeeze was a false one. But in the age of Obama one is by now used to false hope as well as chump change. The WaPo was in rare form today as it published a call to arms for WW III against the much demonized Putin by its editorial board.

The piece, entitled “President Obama’s foreign policy is based on fantasy” is such an incredible piece of bullshit that any decent managing editor would have fed it directly into the shredder – I only excerpt the lead in as an example of its complete and abject dishonesty:

FOR FIVE YEARS, President Obama has led a foreign policy based more on how he thinks the world should operate than on reality. It was a world in which “the tide of war is receding” and the United States could, without much risk, radically reduce the size of its armed forces. Other leaders, in this vision, would behave rationally and in the interest of their people and the world. Invasions, brute force, great-power games and shifting alliances — these were things of the past. Secretary of State John F. Kerry displayed this mindset on ABC’s “This Week” Sunday when he said, of Russia’s invasion of neighboring Ukraine, “It’s a 19th century act in the 21st century.”

The reference to Kerry’s comparison to the invasion of Ukraine along with the stunning omission that the United States of America and the George W. Bush administration did EXACTLY this by attacking, invading and occupying Iraq back in 2003. Granted Americans in general really don’t bother reading anything other than the sports sections or the funnies and have the attention span of attention deficit-disorder afflicted gnats but Jesus Christ – that is in and of itself not only a national embarrassment but exhibit A in why the blogosphere and alternative media has been kicking the shit out of consolidated, corporate and state megaphones like the Post.

Also in the WaPo was a vomit inducing manifesto by career lickspittle David Ignatius very imaginatively entitled “Putin’s error in Ukraine is the kind that leads to catastrophe” which if you can manage to get through the first paragraph of this substitute for toilet tissue it is obvious that it is cribbed from centrally distributed talking points notably for the term “revanchist” which is not exactly one that is commonly used. The think tanks have been working overtime to provide scripts for warfare state parrots like Ignatius and his ilk:

Napoleon is said to have cautioned during an 1805 battle: “When the enemy is making a false movement we must take good care not to interrupt him.” The citation is also sometimes rendered as “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.” Whatever the precise wording, the admonition is a useful starting point for thinking about the Ukraine situation.

Vladimir Putin has made a mistake invading Crimea, escalating a crisis for Russia that has been brewing for many months. It might have been beneficial if President Obama could have dissuaded him from this error. But Putin’s move into Crimea appeared to spring from a deeper misjudgment about the reversibility of the process that led to the breakup of Soviet Union in 1991. The further Russia wades into this revanchist strategy, the worse its troubles will become.

I will give Ignatius some credit though in that he did not compare Putin to “The New Hitler” but "revanchist" is a dead giveaway just as the references to "jitters" in reports on our dismal and doomed economy are. 

The WaPo also trotted out the borderline cadaver that is the insane career anti-Russian bigot Zbigniew Brzezinski (Z-BIG) – author of "The Grand Chessboard" as well as the man whose brilliant idea to sucker the hated Russians into Afghanistan as their “Vietnam” during the 1980’s led to the arming of Islamic fanatics including one Osama bin Laden and we all know how that turned out. Why the fuck that these people are given any credibility as “experts” at anything but destroying America is illustrative of how every single institution in this once great country has been polluted over the past forty or fifty years. I excerpt the following from Z-BIG’s asininely over the top “What is to be done? Putin’s aggression in Ukraine needs a response”:

 Regarding the Russian aggression against Ukraine, much depends on what Vladi­mir Putin does next. But what Putin does depends on not only his calculation of the likely NATO (and especially the U.S.) response but also his estimate of how fiercely the Ukrainian people would respond to any further escalation by Russia. And, to complete the circle, the Ukrainian response would be influenced by citizens’ reaction to any further repetition of Putin’s Crimean aggression and by whether the nation believes that the United States and NATO are truly supportive.

Putin’s thuggish tactics in seizing Crimea offer some hints regarding his planning. He knew in advance that his thinly camouflaged invasion would meet with popular support from the Russian majority in Crimea. He was not sure how the thin and light Ukrainian military units stationed there would react, so he went in masked like a Mafia gangster. In the event of serious Ukrainian resistance, he could disown the initiative and pull back.

His initial success may tempt him to repeat that performance more directly in the far eastern provinces of Ukraine proper. If successful, the conclusive third phase could then be directed, through a combination of political unrest and increasingly overt use of Russian forces, to overthrow the government in Kiev. The result would thus be similar to the two phases of Hitler’s seizure of the Sudetenland after Munich in 1938 and the final occupation of Prague and Czechoslovakia in early 1939.

Why is it that these Goebbels wannabes never apply their sick and dishonest Hitler and Nazi analogies to themselves?

That was a jeremiad befitting of Mein Kampf as a rallying cry to destroy an enemy that only truly exists within the deranged psyches of those most likely to lead the planet into a nuclear cataclysm and what the Christian Zionist zealots who buy into all of the insanity call the “end times” which they covet. Not that it matters to them that Jesus is NOT coming back and all of us – saints and sinners, believers and non-believers, liberals and conservatives and us and them are going to be incinerated. The unlucky ones will be left wander the nuclear wasteland like the walkers in "The Walking Dead" or any of those other very popular zombie-apocalypse flicks but it will really be like “The Road” only with iPads that no longer function due to the busting back to the stone age punishment inflicted upon us all by those choked with hubris, megalomania and the presstitutes and propaganda mills that keep them in power.

Like his buddy Henry Kissinger, Brzezinski should have long ago been euthanized or parked in an insane asylum where he could deliver his diatribes to the fellow lunatics or the rubber walls of the padded room in which he belongs but as such practices are not tolerated in a ‘civilized’ society the very least that could be expected is that he be exiled to a place like Stormfront I know that the Pox on the Potomac was hit by a winter snowstorm again today giving the sucklers and chiselers of our bloated authoritarian government yet another day off to sit around in their jammies and deliver their silly but dangerous babble on the internet but Bezos semi-officially became our own version of Julius Steicher today.

My God, if the man has any principles whatsoever he would brave the weather and fire the entire sordid lot tomorrow morning just as the wretched Obama should do in giving Kerry his pink slip – what a national embarrassment this stammering buffoon has become - it becomes increasingly evident why he got his ass kicked by Bush in 2004.

Putin Once Again Punks Barry and the Boys

The sound of the fury is deafening as it rolls forth across the fruited plain today. The crybaby American power elite, the at one time biggest, baddest bully on the whole spinning globe is throwing an ugly and prolonged snit over the reviled Russian leader Vladimir Putin sending troops into Ukraine to protect his own borders. The U.S. warmongers and whiners are braying today in a keening cacophony of petulant assholes who have had the grievous injury of not getting their way. The neo-Nazi backed fascist coup d’etat executed against Ukranian President Viktor Yanukovych was to have been a triumphal bit of vengeance for Putin’s daring to offer up asylum to former government contactor turned patriotic NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden thereby sparing the young man a living hell of torture and imprisonment followed by a Stalin style show trial in The Homeland as well as his derailing of the war on Syria which was always based on lies from the onset.

No doubt that Putin stewed during the American led campaign of lies and hypocrisy carried out by dishonest demagogues and state media stooges during the Sochi Olympics and the ousting of Yanukovych by scum and thugs was obviously timed to inflict the ultimate indignity. But once again, Putin being the masterful politician and former KGB spy schooled Obama again. I always got a kick out of the assertions of my liberal friends that Barack Obama was like the Michael Jordan of politics, carefully and deliberately studying the defense of the Detroit Pistons Bad Boys and would at the exact moment of opportunity erupt in a whirling dervish of superhuman daredeviltry single-handedly winning the title as his badly outclassed opponents were left in a heap of despair watching the coronation of the champion. Well to use another of those wonderful sports analogies Putin just punked Obama again and made him into his bitch, there is nothing quite like being butt-fucked six ways from Sunday on the world stage. Obama is nothing more than an amateur and a narcissist, a self-important fool who was never really cut out for the big leagues to begin with.

Secretary of Skull and Bones John Kerry ripped Putin for his “incredible act of aggression” in Ukraine but this is the same stammering dolt whose chestnuts were pulled out of the fire over attacking Syria back in September by the Russian leader, it would have been an unmitigated disaster. Such an ingrate not to mention a colossal hypocrite and a fitting representative of a rogue state that flagrantly violates every premise of international law on a daily basis but when you are a member of the American elite the law can just be damned - laws are for the little people. Kerry is understandably pissed off  being one of the high-rolling Davos elite and an honorary piece of the corrupt Eurotrash that would have benefited enormously from cramming their latest round of crippling austerity programs stright up the asses of the Ukranian people. Not that Yanukovych personally stuck it to Kerry by nationalizing a Heinz Ketchup factory like Hugo Chavez did but that is another ongoing U.S. backed coup in a country that doesn’t sit on Russia’s border. Kerry's tirades actually began earlier this week when he carped about the lack of taste for U.S. intervention being the attitudes of a "poor country". This guy has no business whatsoever acting as Secretary of State as it is very obvious that he is a walking conflict of interest thanks to his marrying into the Heinz family fortunes and his history of flip-flopping, for example wining and dining his pal Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad and then pushing for a military intervention to remove him from power.

Taking the place of the neo-Nazi loving Senator McCain on the on the Sunday morning bloviation circuit Kerry was everywhere today pushing the lies of the American gangster state. Other than appearing on Fox Kerry hit for the cycle appearing on all of the big three regular television networks to kick Putin in the balls – ostensibly for sending troops into Ukraine but really to avenge the twin insults of Snowden and Syria. The longtime Massachusetts Senator is man with a notoriously chronic case of diarrhea of the mouth while on CBS’s “Face the Nation” Kerry made the ludicrous statement that - "You just don't in the 21st century behave in 19th century fashion by invading another country on completely trumped up pretext". But in typical fashion the ever ridiculous hosts, in this case longtime insider and gravy train rider Bob Schieffer failed to call him on such obvious bullshit. What was allowed to go totally unmentioned is that the flag-wrapped exceptionalist people who run The Homeland have invaded another country on “completely trumped up pretext” in the 21st century when Obama's predecessors George W. Bush and Dick Cheney attacked and invaded Iraq - a country that did not even remotely threaten the U.S.  Saddam Hussein did NOT have weapons of mass destruction yet a costly and disastrous - at least in terms of American prestige - war was started under the exact type of completely made up horseshit that Kerry has the gall to  accuse Putin of. Hell, if anyone should understand this it is John Kerry – he ran against Bush for the presidency in 2004 for Christ’s sake.

On NBC’s "Meet the Press" Kerry whined about kicking Russia out of G8 and boasted about economic sanctions, pity the poor wounded empire that is unable to militarily bully Mr. Putin like it does everyone else and as for economic sanctions, none could more onerous and cruel than those which that have been inflicted upon the American people themselves. The failed economic policies of the Obama regime (or for that matter any establishment Republican regime) represent the ongoing fleecing of Americans to provide free gambling money to Wall Street casinos and to pay tribute to the global finance mafia that Kerry is a mouthpiece for.

Everyone is joining in on the scam too.  Mealy mouthed piss babies like Senator Lindsey Graham – in full bitch fit mode are going after Obama hammer and tong after dear leader was fed yet another one of those vodka-marinated shit sandwiches by Putin. Graham of course is fending off a tea party challenge to her longtime Senate seat and yet another public lynching of Obama, especially for not being tough enough on Putin sells well with the Jesus freaks, rubes and Birchers in the Palmetto State. Even the opportunistic Sarah Palin has slithered out of her spider hole to bemoan the lack of backbone by Obama in not launching a full-scale military invasion of Russia - which she could presumably see from her back porch.

On days like this I am ashamed to be an American but considering what a corrupt fascist shithole that this country has become I am pretty fucking  proud of it.
