It was like going back to the future. Beset by mounting pressure over the gross intrusions on the lives of others by Obama’s out of control NSA Stasi the reputedly on the run and defeated bogeyman  Al Qaeda was conjured up anew. It was so 2004. You could have pretty much seen this one coming as the Snowden leaks over unconstitutional spying on law-abiding American citizens began to take their toll. A nice little precursor of black propaganda was thrown out two weeks ago when hundreds of militants including but of course “senior members” of Al Qaeda engineered a jailbreak from Baghdad’s notorious Abu Ghraib prison. Remember the place? It was Saddam’s preeminent torture facility until it was hijacked by U.S. invaders and used for even more torture. This was the place where that little peckerwood tramp Lynddie England and her sadistic boyfriend Charles Graner were caught filming their disgusting and demeaning abuse of Iraqis back when Bush’s Iraq war was in full swing. To say that the joint had a bad reputation is quite an understatement.

So with the marauding and not that long ago according to El Presidente himself “on the run” and “defeated” Manichean Devil of the modern era now regenerated just in time to provide cover for the NSA the frenzied alert of imminent danger was issued. By Friday the state-corporate media was aflame with fear and dread, a barrage of bullshit laid down in a shock and awe manner not seen for years. Following up the hysterics the lackeys, water carriers and unprincipled mouthpieces of Empire were sent forth to make the case for their precious and lucrative snooping monstrosity. The Sunday morning vanity fests served as the usual launching pads for the upcoming tsunami of deceit, fear-mongering, fibbing and self-serving that will again use fear of the outsider as the bludgeon that will enforce consent. It was Republicans who made the loudest case for Obama’s Stasi.

The same GOP cadre elite also support Obama’s immigration 'reform' policies precisely because their corporate paymasters need more cheap labor to drive down wages, bust unions and loot pension plans. Unlike the rank and file and other members of Congress who are kept in the dark about mass surveillance and data-mining there are those who enjoy access and actually have influence. There is the Gang of Eight, a sort of Senate within the Senate that is not mentioned anywhere in the constitution and this cabal exerts disproportionate control. This group typically includes McCain and Graham (and their new toady Marco Rubio) who are constantly in the media, pushing for war and oppression and are the go-to guys for the Pentagon and the armaments industry. Unlike the majority of Congress which is paralyzed due to partisan rancor and loyal only to special interests the gang is able to get things done by moving along or killing legislation. They will be instrumental in saving Obama's Stasi, as will Skull and Bonesman John Kerry and of course Dianne Feinstein who has never met a military or secret surveillance program that she couldn't support. Note that the other proponents of the NSA all benefit financially from the industry.

But I digress....

The formidable lineup of Republican media mouthpieces whooped up the fear and dread, dropped myriad 9/11 references and praised the NSA for their role in uncovering the evil plot. There was Peter King, the man who for years provided support for the Irish Republican Army, an outfit that was every bit the murderers of innocent civilians as Al Qaeda, you could pretty much by definition call Rep. King exactly what he is, a fat Gaelic terrorist. King sang the praises of Obama's surveillance state and then carried more water for the duplicitous administration in decrying  those conspiracy theorists who would dare call into question the fortuitous timing of panic mode over vague and unsubstantiated threats. Joining porcine Peter was of course John McCain's BFF Senator Lindsay Graham, a Sunday morning regular. Graham appeared on CNN's State of the Union with the insipid blathering sow Candy Crowley. Graham, in his most honey tongued Gomer Pyle twang proceeded to make the case for permanent religious war in the Middle East. They always reliable Graham practically crooned “If we ever take the bait, and try to come home and create fortress America, you’ll have another 9/11.” It was an obvious sucker punch to the Rand Paul, Justin Amash non-interventionist wing of the party and a deep, sloppy kiss to the neocons who are back in the game now. To Crowley's credit she did rebut Graham's lies and innuendo by asking him one of the forbidden questions:

“When you look at this map of U.S. embassies that are closed, twenty-two of them, most of them across the Muslim world, when you hear this global warning to all Americans to take care, what do you think that says?...Since the mission of terrorists is to terrorize, in some sense do you feel as if they’ve already won?”

The answer to that is obvious, were the 9/11 attacks engineered to destroy America from with the so-called "terrorists" should be running victory laps over the Sunday morning swill. By allowing psychotic terrorists like King and Graham who never met a carpet bombing of brown-skinned civilians that he didn't like it would in theory present a huge triumph for those who hated us for our freedoms and way of life. The problem is, and this is never defined by the corrupt corporate-state media is that those who hate us for those reasons are right here in the U.S.A. and are occupying the government as well as chairs on the propaganda circuit. Also showing up to throw down in favor of Obama's Stasi were Georgia senator Saxby Chambliss, he is the chickenhawk who shamefully attacked actual war veteran Max Cleland as soft on terror, airing a dirty smear campaign that no war veteran who lost three limbs in service to his country should ever have to face. Senator Chambliss is scum but in this heinously corrupt rotting empire amoral charlatans like him have clout.  Senator Draft Dodger also defended Obama's NSA:

"The one thing we can talk about is the fact that there's been an awful lot of chatter out there," the chatter is "very reminiscent of what we saw pre-9/11." 

Then there are the stories about how Obama and McCain are now allies. As is typical, despite the rhetoric and public posturing when it comes right down to the preservation of the warfare state, unconstitutional mass surveillance, torture, bailouts to criminal banksters and giving themselves immunity to prosecution there is no daylight between the Democrat and Republican establishment. Fascism knows now party lines and the Republican defense of Obama's wanton neglect for the Constitution, a document that a good amount of the vermin and swine in the most corrupt Congress of all time find contemptible is a rallying point against the people in this country. 

Political whore-mongering, lies, double-dealing and graft chasing are one thing but the most disturbing aspect of all of this latest alleged threat is that we now once again are seeing a pattern emerge of the invocation of September 11, 2001 as justification for every abuse of power that followed. The cynical use of the most tragic day in the nation's history to make political hay by the previous administration, certain members of Congress and the always opportunistic defense and surveillance industry pimps was shameful. It was akin to pissing on the dead but that has never been beyond politicians, the uptick in invoking that which should never be used as another tool in the political toolbox over the last month has been as incessant as it is intolerable. That it is being used to justify NSA mass surveillance on innocent Americans is even more outrageous than the foreign wars of aggression that were sold to the public on the premise of payback for the attacks.

Interesting, the Obama administration and the government did so much to put their stamp on the official story of what occurred on September 11, 2001 as the national religion back on the tenth anniversary. Hell, the NFL, a preeminent American icon and corporate behemoth even participated, allowing their games that day to become a celebration of the mythology. So why is the scab now being pulled off?  And if 9/11 is now back on the board is it impolitic to ask just one question? What happened to WTC-7? The 47 story building that collapsed long after the initial attacks yet was never addressed by the Kean Commission outside of a footnote? If that very major event has never been adequately explained then why should any of it be believed? After all, that day as we have been repeatedly told changed everything - forever. 

So the embassy closures will continue now for at least another week, here is an idea for Barry - why not just close them permanently and get the hell out of parts of the world where we don’t belong? It will take a few generations but if you are forward thinking enouth maybe there will be a time when we are no longer feared and hated abroad. Despite all of the state crap propaganda about how they “hate us for our freedoms’ that is a lie of Hitlerian proportions. First off, if you take a good look around in 2013 we really are not “free” anymore thanks to the NSA intelligence colossus and secondly, they hate us for our intervening in their countries. Oh, and in breaking news the Obama administration State Department has just ordered Americans to immediately leave Yemen. I guess the locals aren't thrilled with Obama's ongoing drone attacks. 

Iran has been the vogue bogeyman but come on, what if the U.S. and CIA wouldn’t have participated in the overthrow of the democratically elected leader Mohammad Mosaddegh and the installation of the western golden boy the Shah and his vicious Savak secret police with their torture chambers? It takes balls to wreck the economy on a blood revenge mission against Saddam Hussein for being a man who kills his own people while Mohammad Resa Pahlavi was feted by U.S. leaders for decades while Iranians got their fingernails pulled out. How about the CIA support of Indonesia’s slaughterer in chief Suharto? Up to a million (nobody really knows) were summarily murdered, tortured and imprisoned in 1965 during the overthrow of Sukarno. Or what of Chile where the vicious thug Pinochet was backed by the U.S. elite when he launched his blood purge of the legitimately elected leader of his country? Or? Or? Or? Oh, Christ I can’t keep track of all of the atrocities committed for the sake of the uber-wealthy elite and then sold to the masses as justifiable interventions against the devil of the day.

More on the Pillorying of Rolling Stone

 Hey Boston, Why not attack the NYT? You hate the Yankees anyway.

The past week has been filled with the typical lies, hysteria and political grandstanding over the wholly manufactured insult to the victims (please) inflicted by Rolling Stone magazine. Rolling Stone, which does produce some of the last remnants of serious investigative journalism in this rapidly closing society featured a cover picture of accused Boston Marathon bomber Dzhoknar Tsarnaev along with an in-depth story of how the young man went so bad. Rather than take the time to actually read the fucking piece the usual swine in the state/corporate media fired up the "Mighty Wurlitzer" and scrambled the winged monkeys. Thank God for the royal birth across the pond so this campaign of crap finally gets flushed out of the headlines, the venom directed at Rolling Stone by the sycophantic suck-up presstitutes whose investigative skills end at scribbling down anonymous notes by the beltway elite at a Washington area bar or cocktail party only betrays their betrayal of the craft.


One more vomit inducing exhibit is this - purportedly  in order to avenge the honor of Boston some nincompoop named Sgt.Sean Murphy of the Massachusetts State Police was relieved of duty after leaking an unauthorized picture of Tsarnaev after he was cornered like a rat by a virtual army of paramilitary police. So of course Murphy, much like fat George Zimmerman has become a martyr to the cause of escalating right-wing insurrection against the government and of curse the hated libruls (sic). This morning while reviewing the early news I practically choked on my coffee laughing at this ludicrous story on Fox News's website. The story, entitled Thousands rally online in support of Massachusetts cop who leaked bomber photos. Now anyone running short on time would glance at the headline and possibly assume that angry mobs were taking to the streets but that would of course be wrong. The key word of course is "online" and the piece in Fox's typical pants on fire fashion refers to a Facebook page very originally set up and named "Save Sgt. Sean Murphy". Not to be lost in the weeping and gnashing of teeth is that Fox covered every ridiculous teabagger rally that consisted of six or seven indignant pasty white fatties standing around in the parking lot of their local Waffle House with a "Show Us Your Birth Certificate" sign as though it were the million man march. The day that Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdoch are both finally dead and roasting on spits in Hell will be a great day for America, that is if anything is left of it after their Julius Streicher inspired "journalism" brainwashed and inculcated violent behavior in so many for so long.

As for Boston and the ongoing keening about the trauma that the victims are being made to suffer because in a land where at least there is some remaining concept of a "free press" and "freedom of speech - DEAL WITH IT! If you take the time to go out and look on the internet at some of the collateral damage that is inflicted on innocent civilians in the foreign lands occupied by the American Empire I would say that you all got off pretty lucky. Especially since a good amount of you support the ongoing foreign wars and murder of women and children by bombs, drones and missiles and as the propaganda that was used to sell fear to the schmucks - the homeland is a battlefield too.This is the dark side of the country that you live in and don't preach that freedom isn't free or any of those other horseshit slogans, you Bostonians are after all the ones who allowed the paramilitary goon squads to put portions of your city under martial law, allowing the police and Homeland Security forces entry into your homes without warrants all to find one little punk. You people make me sick. Sometimes life sucks but it sucks one hell of a lot less when you don't live in a country that is in America's bombsites, the carnage in Iraq is unbelievable and it has been going on for one hell of a long time and that is just the most recent example, go and read up on how many civilians were slaughtered or incinerated by U.S. military forces in Vietnam. Better yet, go and research the U.S. support of murderers and torturers over the last fifty or so years, a word of advice is that you had best have a strong stomach when you read what has been perpetrated in the name of "freedom".

When Martial Law Came to Boston

As it has been with every other aspect of the fascism that has come to this land, a sad, permanently damaged and ultimately to be damned by the judgement of history place of fear and loathing the roll out of martial law to American soil, in Boston on Friday was wrapped in the flag.The heinous and barbaric act of sheer inhumanity that precipitated it was Monday's bomb detonations at the Boston Marathon where a despicable act of criminality was perpetrated by scum. Nobody who plans and then carries out such a malicious act of cruelty is deserving of anything less than being made subject to the full fury of the law. Those were innocent people whose lives were forever ruined by those monstrous little Chechen bastards and their shrapnel bombs. People who were happy, trained at length for their race and for them it was to be a day of personal triumph and accomplishment and they were deprived of it, some will never run again. It was an act that defines the very essence of all that is diseased and wrong with the human condition and will forever live in infamy. That being said, the overreaction of authorities in rolling out a de facto state of martial law will prove to be far more damaging to this already reeling nation than anything that the brothers Tsarnaev did on that lamentable day of blood, horror and sorrow. 

Just as those events of September 11, 2001 set into motion a series of actions that led to two ruinous and nationally bankrupting wars, the evisceration of American civil liberties, the unleashing of an out of control and ever expanding surveillance apparatus that has no accountability, the codifying of torture, a terminally damaged political system and a myriad of other indignities so too shall Black Friday, April 19, 2013. It was on this day that the streets of Boston and the surrounding suburbs brought to mind scenes from a certain European place in the middle of the last century, armored troops marching through civilian streets and the local citizenry stripped of their rights of freedom, prisoners within their own homes. Paramilitary forces which only in Orwellian newspeak terms can be called "police" with a straight face descended in legions with their armored vehicles, shining black body armor and of course their ever more deadly military weaponry. The city was "locked down" as the 19 year old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, badly wounded in the earlier shootout that killed his older brother was hunted down like the rabid dog that he is. The citizenry cowered as the storm troopers banged on doors, without warrants of course but such trivial matters cannot be bothered with in our dystopian police state. As Bryant so famously put it to Deckard in the movie Blade Runner - "If you're not cop you're little people" and when the scent of blood vengeance is is in the air and the jackboots are kicking at the door there really are only two options.

The media breathlessly hyped this mega-story, you would think that it was O.J. redux or at the very least another breaking news alert about Oscar Pistorious. As the old news maxim goes - when it bleeds, it leads and the bloodier the better for the carrion ensconced in their electronic nests. But this was over the top, way over the top. The freshly severed limbs of the bombing victims had yet to be fully treated when the news cycle suddenly swung into action to cover the search for the alleged perpetrators. By the time that the FBI had released the photos of the brothers the hunt was on and indeed the media found it to be good sporting fun, and very, very lucrative to the bottom line. There were times on Friday that I thought that I was watching the sequel to "The Running Man" with the way that the internet news site headlines changed the prey was being closed in on while the audience was transfixed. The one that I found particularly chilling (and more than a bit nauseating) I believe was on CNN or some other state propaganda organ and was in a huge screaming font WHERE IS HE? as Friday afternoon turned to evening. The sports websites and blogs were even in on the action, not surprising as this was the greatest game in the country for those two or so blessed days after the suspects were set upon by the black clad militarized goon squads. As of today, not one of the cowardly bitches and bastards has called the Boston response martial law, and those who have are mocked, scorned and attacked as crazies.


Typically it didn't take long for  the usual vermin, the authoritarian Republicans to drop their silly post-election image makeover and slither out from under their rocks to play. The porcine Long Island bigot Peter King was practically calling for all Muslims to be made to wear crescent badges sewn to their clothing and herded into ghettos. Not that it bothered the insane swine when his beloved Irish Republican Army was blowing civilians including children to bits while he proudly supported them back in the 80's. Then of course there was the ubiquitous Lindsey Graham, once again venturing out of his closet to pontificate from the Sunday morning media masturbatory fests where narcissistic beltway celebrities playact as though they are really journalists rather than the sycophants and toadies that they are and always have been. Senator Graham, soon to be joined by the dyspeptic old fool John McCain will call for military tribunals and the expansion of Gitmo and it is inevitable that this latest outrageous act of violence will serve as the basis for a national 'conversation' on the use of armed drones across the fruited plain. McCain especially is a veteran media whore, the doddering and drooling buffoon has been comfortable in front of the cameras ever since he made those Commie propaganda videos to curry favor with this Vietnamese captors and his mania for revenge will soon use the Boston bombings to call for yet another war, likely Iran this time. If they have not done so already there will soon be linkages in the slimier realms for the right-wing Koched up media and blogosphere tying the bombing to Obama, likely by invoking the bogeyman Bill Ayers. Some things never change.I have already seen several stories using the bombing by the brothers Tsarnaev in order to exploit the anti-immigrant bigots that are the party base, I suspect it is only a matter of time until Rush or Glenn or Sean or Ann or any of the other turds is out there promulgating some hogwash about a linkage to gay marriage. Not to worry though, there will be plenty of company from ever feckless Democrats, quislings whose cynicism never fails to surprise when it comes to reigning in an out of control armed to the teeth national asylum.

After the killing of Tamerlan and the capture of Dzhokhar, who is being held in the state of legal limbo that now has replaced due process in this rotten land of incipient fascism it was like Christmas morning and the day after a Patriots Super Bowl win all wrapped into one. There were celebratory affairs at Red Sox and Bruins games as well as throughout the nation at sporting events, it was like another hit of that mythical narcotic post-9/11 national unity that the Neocons have long found to be far, far better than sex, a red, white and blue orgasm screamed out to the tune of the Star Spangled Banner. Obama, whose lamentable time in office has all by chiseled the Bush-Cheney abomination into stone even showed up in Beantown to make one of his fine speeches. This time unlike Sandy Hook Elementary, when another terrorist named Adam Lanza blew the guts and brains out and the limbs off of twenty small childrenchildren there WILL be action. You see, in the down the rabbit hole existential hell of the "new normal" in America any mass killing that feeds the beast and expands the police state. This is especially so if it can be used as additional justification to sell even more guns is a dead bang certainty to go over in a true bipartisan manner with the rats in the halls of our contemptible Congress. While not even watered down background checks on gun purchases with massive public support can become law a further weaponizing of the state after the Boston tragedy is certain to not only result in an immediate ratcheting down of civil liberties in the name of "safety". The rancid buzzard that is Wayne LaPierre, fresh off of the feasting on the corpses of the Sandy Hook victims to sell more guns will likely be pushing the meme that if all of the runners and spectators at the Boston Marathon had just had more guns then none of this would have ever happened.

This is a sickening time in history to be an American, our forebears would be ashamed. There is no longer such a thing as social justice as the ultra-wealthy and well-connected burrow themselves into government to ensure that the shrinking and increasingly desperate taxpayer can be shaken down to subsidize Wall Street gambling. The founding fathers, the ones who are constantly invoked by the selectively fascist shock troops of the so-called Tea Party would be aghast that that fine Constitution that they put together has been gutted as America becomes a more palatable to the eye banana republic but the ones who would be the most ashamed would be our World War II veterans. They sacrificed all to fight fascism but it is now a rising and malevolent force that only grows stronger, like a city killing hurricane.

And the fascism was on display for all to see on Friday in the streets of Boston, how much longer until it comes to YOUR city?
