Warmongers Continue to Cast Lustful Eyes on Syria

Despite the agreement on the U.N. Security Council resolution "legally obligating" the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to surrender all chemical weapons stocks, it being nothing more than window dressing and diplomatic cover as the attacks are creeping closer. While the world body produced the hyped report that sarin gas was indeed used on civilians at Ghouta it did nothing to produce the smoking gun so desperately desired by Obama, Kerry and the war machine.  While it is reported that the resolution does not include the threat of specific military action make no mistake that Barry’s speech before the General Assembly, which easily could have been written by William Kristol or any number of other on call neocon propagandist over at the American Enterprise Institute was a virtual promise that it will only be a matter of time until the bombs, missiles and drone strikes are dialed up. This was just emphasized by Obama himself as he confirmed the military option while expressing skepticism that the Syrian government would follow through on it’s “commitments”. In a nice little bit of serendipity today the U.N. has also disclosed that the inspectors would also be investigating more chemical weapons attacks, you can be certain that these will soon be used as a new justification for the attacks. Barry laid the groundwork well in his aforementioned speech - "The Syrian government took a first step by giving an accounting of its stockpiles.  Now there must be a strong Security Council resolution to verify that the Assad regime is keeping its commitments, and there must be consequences if they fail to do so.  If we cannot agree even on this, then it will show that the United Nations is incapable of enforcing the most basic of international laws." . Yes there will be consequences aplenty especially once the blame is affixed for those new chemical weapons attacks that just materialized.

While waiting for the event that will lock down the strikes, the U.S. leadership is still going forward with plans to arm the rebels, now in the process of becoming even more radicalized by an influx of die hard, murderous Islamic extremists on a mission from Allah. Obama recently waived the ban on the arming of terrorist groups to allow for the arming of the Syrian rebels and further destabilizing the country. While there is much official blather about the many different factions there should be no illusions that this government, which is competent only in the ability to ensure that the most violent of foreign insurgents are getting the taxpayer dough in their typical short-sighted manner is not going to create another blowback type situation such as when the brilliant idea to arm Osama bin Laden and the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan against the Russians won't eventually turn into another catastrophe like September 11.2001 . These are really nice people these rebels, when they aren't (allegedly) gassing women and children and blaming it on Assad's forces they are engaging in barbaric acts of cannibalism, ransacking Christian churches and desecrating Jewish burial grounds. This latest bit of idiocy is going to assuredly one day come back to bite this country in the ass as so many of these things do, they are still trying to mitigate the damage of the CIA backed 1953 overthrow of Iranian leader Mohammad Mossadeq.

In a somewhat interesting development related to the administration and it’s foreign allies trying to downplay rebel involvement in the Ghouta gas attacks have scored a hit on one of the sources casting alleged aspersions upon our Al-Qaeda backed chums potentially being responsible ror the atrocity.  The freelancer whose work is frequently published by AP, a woman named Dale Gavlak was credited for contributing to a story on the fledgling alternative media site Mint Press News that got some legs for a brief period when the war drums were at their most deafening. The story attributed the attack to rebels and on the ground sources who contributed accounts to the the piece in question had alleged Saudi involvement, perhaps even that none other than Bandar Bush himself was involved.

I am sure that the pressure was enormous and that Gavlak was provided with the proverbial  offer she just couldn’t refuse to distance herself from the piece. While Gavlak’s MPN story didn’t garner much corporate-state media attention when Barry and Kerry were making their case for bombing the bejesus out of Damascus it managed to garner some attention, primarily in a McClatchy story and a New York TImes affiliated blog hit piece over the weekend. The lackey packed establishment media generally shits all over anything even remotely related to alternative news sites (unless  of course it is some useful tripe that serves state interests and is floated on the Drudge Report) so the story debunking Gavlak’s Mint Press News piece is a bit suspect. There have been reports of intimidation and career threats and per the aforementioned hit piece - “Ms. Gavlak told The Lede that she has been suspended by The A.P. as a result of the article.” I suppose that it is always better to back off a hot story rather to end up perishing due to some sort of mysterious flaming vehicle ‘accident’ ala Michael Hastings so who can blame her?

While I can’t and won’t personally vouch for the credibility of the Mint Press News story or website itself, I did link to and reference the piece a few weeks ago I can state that to me it carries at least the same amount of credibility of the Obama administration’s ongoing Assad blame game. That may set the bar pretty low but  in the fog of bullshit that was the Obama-Kerry led blind sprinting into another idiotic war and dragging the rest of us who have zero say in matters along like we were their lapdogs it was imperative that other stories be told.  Were this not the case there would be far more than the Ghouta victims already dead by the “collateral damage” inflicted by U.S. military strikes.  It may be inconsequential to the majority of the lemmings in the United States of Dancing With the Stars but at some point there needs to be a case, and a legitimate one made for these Middle East actions outside of the lies of the warmongers. I did see that Antiwar.com issued a retraction and apology for featuring the piece and I have found  the stuff that they put out over there to be pretty solid on a consistent basis over the years. Given how hot the accusations in the MPN story were and the obvious push back by the establishment against Gavlak  it was probably a good business move on their part. Best to just get the live grenade out of the bunker and move onward with the reportage and editorializing that they do best.

As for the alleged involvement of the Saudis and Prince Bandar bin Sultan (Bandar Bush) is there really any question that they engage in deception, game-playing and double-dealing? This just happens to be the very land where fifteen of the nineteen 9/11 hijackers hailed from and the to this day yet to be satisfactorily explained  evacuation of planeloads of Saudi high-rollers including those with ties to Osama bin Laden by the Bush administration while the national airspace was closed down. The Saudi monarchy is a disgusting, bigoted, corrupt regime of despots, misogynists (when they aren’t chasing whores) and despotic oppressors of human rights yet an ally of the U.S. It is the utmost of hypocrisy to see the likes of Obama and the rest of the poitical elite wagging their fingers at other countries for the abhorrent treatment of women or in the new hot item that appeases the Democratic party base - persecution of gays when at the same time backing pigs like the Saudi royals.

Robert Parry over at Consortium News just published a very nice article entitled Should Cruise Missiles Target Saudis?. Parry is a respectable journalist who along with a other real reporters was run out of the media years ago by hordes of careerists, shills, stenographers, ass-kissers and chirping Kewpie dolls with big tits who could read their teleprompters and deliver that thousand yard stare just perfectly. In the piece he calls out the Saudi frauds for their overt sponsorship of Jihadists, particularly the worst of the worst of the rebels in Syria. I excerpt the following:

Since the only way to stop the bloodletting that has reportedly claimed more than 100,000 lives is to arrange a ceasefire and a political settlement, the calculation of the rebels must change or at least the calculation of their chief sponsors must change. In that light, perhaps a warning is in order to Saudi intelligence chief Prince Bandar bin Sultan that cruise missiles could be aimed at his offices in Riyadh if Saudi intelligence doesn’t stop arming the most extreme factions fighting in Syria.

Besides supporting the brutal jihadists  in Syria, there’s another inconvenient truth: the history of Saudi Arabia’s support for Islamic terrorism across the region and around the world, a point that Prince Bandar reportedly raised during a tense meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on July 31, in connection with the rebellious Russian province of Chechnya.

According to a diplomatic account of that bilateral confrontation, Bandar sought Russian support for ousting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad while offering various economic inducements to Russia along with a pledge to protect next year’s Winter Olympics in Sochi from terrorist attack.

Putin apparently was offended by Bandar’s blend of bribery and threats, especially his allusion to Saudi longstanding support for Chechen terrorism, a sore point for Russians who have suffered numerous attacks by Chechen terrorists against Russian civilian targets. I’m told Putin also viewed the reference to Sochi as something akin to a Mafia don shaking down a shopkeeper for protection money by saying, “nice little business you got here, I’d hate to see anything happen to it.”

He makes excellent points, a good question would be why weren’t the cruise missiles (or ICBMs for that matter) given the target coordinates to the Saudi royal palace the minute that it was determined that over three quarters of the 9/11 hijackers hailed from The Kingdom? The answer of course being what it always is in this sordid rotting empire in the early stages of terminal collapse and that is MONEY. There is never a shortage of that when it comes to the Saudis, especially a snake like Prince Bandar who during his tenure as ambassador was quite the connoisseur of western decadence as he schmoozed with the upper crust of the very elitists of same Great Satan that the terrorist groups that royal money funded denounced. His Epicurean delights and charming personality endeared him to the wealthy and powerful in the U.S., he threw great parties, had a palatial home in Aspen and hung with celebrities while the leaders of his own country nurtured primitive religious hatred that could and would be directed back at the west as a distraction from their own grossly perverse regime.

So now we wait as the game goes on, it is like playing musical chairs and when the music stops it won't be the asses of the well connected who hit the deck.  It never is and it never will be.

There's No Debating Over Latest War in Obama's America

The lack of debate over Obama and his Congressional  co-conspirators’ upcoming  Syrian war flies in the face of what a democratic society should be based on but we sadly no longer live in one. The self-righteous, self-serving  jingoist rhetoric that has poisoned the discourse for two weeks now is ratcheting up ever higher on a daily basis. Obama administration apparatchik and their bloodthirsty, warmongering allies like Senator John McCain may babble about “democracy” in the Middle East yet it is all more of the same Orwellian doublespeak. As Barry and the boys move heaven and earth to save face after his moronic “red line” statement on Syrian escalation there is a complete absence of anything but the official state narrative that saturates American media. If you don’t like it then you just may be a traitor, a conspiracy theorist or just downright anti-American, it is just another flavor of the same manure that was peddled by the Bush-Cheney crew when they browbeat Americans into attacking Iraq on bogus pretenses. The imminent Syrian misadventure actually makes it look as though Obama’s predecessor really did have the smoking gun, so shoddy, frantic and made up as they go along is their case for this looming foreign policy fiasco.

The hypnotic drumbeat goes on even as the Senate Foreign Relations Committee has just provided the Obama-Kerry-Rice Axis of Evil with another item to check off of the list with an approval for strikes that was just voted out of committee. The corrupt Senate will likely vote on Monday followed by the House and then Barry will have the political cover to swing the big guns in the direction of Damascus for the latest of our modern Crusades. It is imperative that the heavy lifting of propagandizing the sheeple and conducting the sham of a congressional ‘debate’ be done before more facts about the Ghouta gassing seep out to blow a hole in the entire stinking Obama case for war. The last thing that can be allowed is for the U.N. inspection results (which could take 3 weeks) to muck things up and the administration according to a Washington Post story the administration has already dismissed U.N. inspectors citing that: “the findings — expected in less than two weeks — no longer matter, citing its own evidence that the Syrian government was behind the chemical weapons attack in the Damascus suburbs”. Seems like the entirety of the U.N. involvement was nothing more than a dog and pony show as the decision has already been made based on the same type of secret evidence that Obama’s secret FISA court produces. Yet the rulers of  this country have the audacity to preach democracy to the rest of the world, hypocrisy is the coin of the realm in 2013 America.

In our phony “democracy” what the ordinary schmucks want has not mattered for a good long time now, it has been made especially clear under Obama. Despite widespread resistance the regime rammed the bitter pill of Obamacare down the throats of Americans without a chaser. This massive expansion of big government is when it all comes down to it nothing more than a gift to the insurance parasites to whom it delivers yoked and chained millions of new customers with the threat of punitive action by the state levied against those who do not comply.  Obama has also presided over the ongoing strip-mining operations that have destroyed the U.S. economy and provided taxpayer house money for the well-heeled degenerates on Wall Street to gamble with. He has also launched an unprecedented assault on the Second Amendment and has the most powerful surveillance machine in human history at his disposal along with the DEA, DOJ and IRS as his enforcers. The IRS already has gone after political foes under this regime and the abuses of the NSA were only coming to light until the war machine and all of its accoutrements was fired up. None of this was debated nor even mentioned during the 2012 election which rapidly degenerated into the same state media friendly, substance free clash of dueling cults of personality. The only, and I emphasize only reason that Obama was able to win a second term was due to the abysmal quality of his opponent, an arrogant, high-rolling vulture capitalist  flip-flopper from Massachusetts who viewed over half of America with contempt and alienated a good portion of the conservative base. Not to infer that Mitt Romney would not have started another war because when you have a guy like Dan Senor as your top foreign policy adviser it would have been foremost on the agenda.

But I digress…

The Obama war on Syria is as inevitable this morning as the venality and sheer dishonesty of his war cabinet. Secretary of Skull and Bones John Kerry has repeatedly been caught stretching the truth whenever he wasn’t lying outright. So much so that Russian leader Vladimir Putin even came out and called bullshit on the former Democratic party presidential election loser.  The state propaganda mills are grinding their gears today in portraying Putin as the devil for rightfully pointing out that Kerry is indeed a liar who deliberately played down the role of Al Qaeda groups among the Syrian militants. It takes balls to defend the same terrorist organization that twelve years ago next Tuesday brought such devastation to American shores with the destruction of the World Trade Center, part of the Pentagon and murdered over 3,000 of our citizens in the process. It is remarkable that Kerry and the rest of Obama’s gangster administration would bed down with such wolves as they trump up the gassing of a still undetermined number of Syrians by still undetermined parties to override 9/11 as though those who died that day at the hand of Al Qaeda are somehow insignificant. Kerry also seems to have found a new “Curveball” in falsely attributing claims of an alleged high level Syrian defector. While he was providing testimony in front of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Kerry trotted out this whopper: “Just today, before coming in here, I read an e-mail to me about a general, the minister of defense, former minister or assistant minister, I forget which, who has just defected and is now in Turkey”. The problem, and give credit to columnist Dana Milbank of the WaPo for pointing it out is that Kerry was referring to a Reuters news story and NOT any such email at all. This administration seems to have an abundant supply of liars to trot out in front of Congress, Kerry is right up there with the perjurer James Clapper yet he wasn’t called on it.

The original Massachusetts flip-flopper continues to throw as much crap against the wall to see what sticks, the latest being that the administration has been assured by unspecified “Arab countries” that they would pick up the tab and pay the full cost of a U.S. ground invasion of Syria. That cost of course is denominated in dollars and not blood, to the decadent and oppressive Saudi monarchy money means nothing. They probably could pay for the war off of the loose change that could be dredged out of their chair cushions. One wonders what the whopper of the day will be for Kerry who married into the Heinz family ketchup fortune and is the consummate inside man representing the will of the global elite. Kerry isn’t the only prevaricator either, newly minted Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel is today having to back off of the bald-faced lie thatRussia was providing chemical weapons to the Assad regime in Syria. The Pentagon has been forced to walk back Hagel’s fairy tale, with Obama at the G20 soiree in Russia and tensions between the prince of petulance and Putin already running high over the Snowden affair it doesn’t exactly contribute to civil small talk over dinner. Obama will use the occasion to shill for his new war but once you get outside the borders of Der Homeland it is a horrifying realization to our leaders that people elsewhere and not subject to the media brainwashing actually are able to think for themselves. Now even the Pope has even come out to weigh in on the “futile” military solution in Syria.

Protests and serious moral stances against what could very well be Obama’s bumbling provocation of WW III and subsequent death toll in the millions are indeed futile. The propaganda imagery of the victims of the Gouta gassing which are the sinister pornography of state aggression are are just too mesmerizing. I know people, very smart people who are in a state of high frenzy today and braying for an attack on Syria, they are not O-Bots either. One longtime friend shrilly accused me of being a monster for not buying the war propaganda because by God if Assad is gassing his own people it won’t be long before he has a nuke. This is a man who would sooner sing the praises of Satan himself than Obama who he openly detests yet he has been co-opted as an advocate for the true monsters. The looped video of the poor dead children, victims of a geopolitical game that they will never grow up to understand is just too powerful, to a television lobotomized population they are the most ass-kicking club in the bag for the war machine. As libertarian writer Justin Raimondo of Antiwar.com wrote in his most recent column about how Democrat and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is now shamefully exploiting her own grandchild as a prop to sell the war pegs it spot on:

Pelosi wails about “the children.” Yes, it’s always about “the children,” isn’t it? Every war propaganda campaign in modern history has featured them in starring roles as the ubiquitous first victims of the tyrant’s sword. The Kaiser was impaling them on Prussian bayonets, according to Her Majesty’s propagandists intent on dragging us into WWI: more recently, images of newborns thrown out of their incubators and trodden underfoot by Iraqi jackboots were conjured by the Emir’s propagandists as the rationale for Gulf War I. Screaming crying children clinging to their mothers’ skirts served as background music for “news” reports designed to gin up the Kosovo war.

Yet there are some babies the War Party would rather not talk about—such as those who will come under the heading of “collateral damage” as US bombs rain on Syria. They don’t want to talk about the babies caught up in the sectarian cleansing campaign that will be carried out by US-backed Syrian jihadists as our air strikes give them the advantage. There won’t be many Alawite or Christian children left in the whole country by the time US-backed “rebels” overrun the place.

Selectively child-centered war pornography is a staple in the interventionist arsenal, the old stand by resorted to when reason fails: indeed, the failure of reason, and the prevention of rational thought is the cognitive goal of all war propaganda. Facts, logic, evidence, all are thrown out the window and raw emotion overrides thought. Violence is the inevitable result.

It’s easy to manipulate people when their rational faculties are shut down. Under these circumstance, full-grown women and men don’t even know they’re being manipulated – but the Littlest Pelosi wasn’t fooled. That’s because children, being master manipulators themselves, usually know when someone’s trying to put one over on them. Skillfully dodging Grandma’s war propaganda aimed at his heart, he wanted the facts, and his incisive question – “Were these children in the United States?” – goes right to the heart of the matter.

You do have to admit that it works and it especially works for Barack H. Obama who is already well versed in the art of the exploitation of dead children to push a radical political agenda. One needs to only harken back to last December when El Presidente used the tragic slaughter o fgrade schoolers by a heavily armed lunatic at Sandy Hook Elementary School to cynically push for more gun control. The right for Americans to bear arms has been enshrined by the Second Amendment yet this rogue leader would go after that most basic guarantee of liberty, using his government goons and the power of the state to impinge upon that which is most fundamental. He also has shown his obvious contempt for the Constitution by allowing his NSA Stasi, which has now been completely banished from the state media to wage war against the Fourth Amendment and if you include his war on journalists the First Amendment as well. So there will be war in Syria and soon, with the Constitution pretty much already torn to shreds by Barry and his minions all but the willfully blind should be able to see that we no longer live in a functional democracy and no amount of propaganda and lip service by charlatans can obscure that lamentable fact.
