Georgia Drug Task Force Raids Retiree Over Okra Plants

There must be something strange about the water these days in the great state of Georgia. Right on the heels of the the woman who was thrown into jail over dried SpaghettiOs , news has come out about an overzealous drug task force raid against a retired man over his okra plants. When it comes to strange tales Georgia ranks right up there with the much larger California, Florida and Texas as national leaders and in the “Peach State” it always seems to involve the cops.

According to the website of Atlanta’s WSB-TV in a story entitled “Okra mistaken for pot in man’s garden”:

A Cartersville man is upset after he said investigators mistook a garden full of okra for marijuana plants.

The man growing the popular Southern food said a helicopter woke him up Wednesday and then he had deputies show up at his door.

"I was scared actually, at first, because I didn't know what was happening,” said homeowner Dwayne Perry.

All he noticed was that there was a chopper sitting unusually low over his house, then Bartow County deputies and a K-9 unit appeared at his doorstep in minutes.

"They were strapped to the gills,” Perry said.

It turned out, that helicopter was from the Governor's Task Force for drug suppression and they were out looking for domestic cannabis plants and spotted the tree and plants.

"Instead, it's okra and maybe a bush on the end of the house,” Perry said.

Channel 2’s Carl Willis called the Georgia State Patrol, who operates the task force, for an explanation. They sent an evidence photo.

"We've not been able to identify it as of yet. But it did have quite a number of characteristics that were similar to a cannabis plant,” said Georgia State Patrol Capt. Kermit Stokes.

Perry said his plants had five leaves, not seven like on the cannabis plant. He said a mistake like this shouldn't happen.

"Here I am, at home and retired and you know I do the right thing,” Perry said. “Then they come to my house strapped with weapons for no reason. It ain't right."

The authorities apologized on the scene and again when Willis called.

"If we disturbed them in any manner, that's not our intent. Our intent is to go out and do our job and do it to the best of our ability,” Stokes said.

But Perry said he doesn't think those words go far enough.

"The more I thought about it, what could have happened? Anything could have happened,” Perry said.

Perry said he's still getting calls about all of the deputy vehicles that responded at his home. He fears his reputation has been damaged.

Mr. Perry should be thankful that the heavily-armed raiders did not go in after midnight with guns blazing because the "damage" to his reputation would have been the least of his worries. He should be counting his blessings that he isn't black.

Recent Georgia stories in addition to the SpaghettiOs incident include a  SWAT raid where a flash grenade was thrown into a toddler’s crib and an Atlanta cop murdering and burning the body of a woman he met online for sex. Now the pile of indignities includes the daring okra plant raid.

Just one more sign that the war on drugs is a long-running and expensive catastrophe. When you have cops who are incapable of telling the difference between SpaghettiO's and methamphetamine and okra and marijuana there is a huge underlying problem with the system itself.

Now The Government is Militarizing American Schools

Numerous stories have revealed that the militarization of the American police has expanded into the nation’s schools as well. The U.S. government’s 1033 program to offload surplus military gear on local civilian police forces is glaring evidence of just how far off the rails that the overreaction to the 9/11 attacks have gone. The mass expansion of the Big Brother style national surveillance state, the ongoing government war on civil liberties, the irrelevance of the Posse Comitatus Act and the arming of police as if they were on the streets of an occupied country is now well into its second decade.

The America of the past, one in which many of us took our freedoms for granted is gone forever. It has been replaced by the more a German style of state known as the "Heimat" - or as it is translated into English - “Homeland” . Now we have military weaponry entering into our schools which in any decent country should be a signal that it has all gone too far. Too bad that we no longer live in one.  It is a national nightmare from which there is no awakening.

John Whitehead of the civil rights organization The Rutherford Institute hits the bullseye in his latest article “An Unbearable and Choking Hell: The Loss of Our Freedoms in the Wake of 9/11” and I recommend that everyone read it. This is not a pinko, left-wing organization either so conservatives better get a fucking clue and quick. The Rutherford Institute regularly defends the defenseless against the abusers of power. They were a critical supporter of Paula Jones during her legal proceedings against the pervert president and pathological sex freak Slick Willie Clinton.  I excerpt the following from Whitehead's piece:

The Constitution has been steadily chipped away at, undermined, eroded, whittled down, and generally discarded to such an extent that what we are left with today is but a shadow of the robust document adopted more than two centuries ago. Most of the damage has been inflicted upon the Bill of Rights—the first ten amendments to the Constitution—which historically served as the bulwark from government abuse.

Set against a backdrop of government surveillance, militarized police, SWAT team raids, asset forfeiture, eminent domain, overcriminalization, armed surveillance drones, whole body scanners, stop and frisk searches, roving VIPR raids and the like—all sanctioned by Congress, the White House and the courts—a recitation of the Bill of Rights would understandably sound more like a eulogy to freedoms lost than an affirmation of rights we truly possess.

The spreading of the cancer of the militarized police state to those institutions where our children are educated (very poorly so) and a story from The Guardian builds on what Mr. Whitehead refers to.  The story, “US school districts given free machine guns and grenade launchers” states:

School police departments across the US have taken advantage of free military surplus gear, stocking up on mine-resistant armoured vehicles, grenade launchers and scores of M16 rifles.
At least 26 school districts have participated in the Pentagon’s surplus program, which is not new but has come under scrutiny after police responded to protesters in Ferguson, Missouri, with teargas, armour-clad military trucks and riot gear.

Amid that increased criticism, several school districts have said they will give some of the equipment back but others plan to keep it. Nearly two dozen education and civil liberties groups have sent a letter to the Pentagon and the justice and education departments urging a stop to transfers of military weapons to school police.

One of those school districts - Pinellas County, Florida -  has purchased a number of M16 combat rifles from the Pentagon program at a discounted price per a story from the local newspaper's website . The Tampa Bay Times reports that “Pinellas schools buy assault rifles from military surplus program” and cites the contrasting viewpoints of local officials:

School police Chief Rick Stelljes said his department has wanted to purchase M-16 rifles, which he calls "long guns," for at least two years but was prohibited by cost. He said the government's program allowed him to buy each rifle for $50, significantly less than the $900 to $1,000 he would have otherwise paid.

The Pinellas School District's in-house police department provides officers at 12 schools; many of the local police agencies that contract with the remaining school campuses already assign their officers M-16s, Stelljes said.

School police officers already carry .40-caliber semiautomatic pistols with them. But Stelljes said the M-16s are better suited for emergency situations — namely, taking down a school shooter.

Never mind that serious “school shooter” incidents are just another excuse, exactly like the bogeyman that the federal government conjured up after 9/11 to justify their power grab. It is only natural that once the locals get the guns and armored vehicles that they don’t want to give them back.

The Tampa Bay Times story also features a voice of reason and rational thinking from the St. Petersburg based school district’s counterparts across the bay in Tampa:

Hillsborough's school police chief, John Newman, said the M-16s didn't appeal to him.

"Unless you are flat-out responding to an active shooter, that's the only use. In schools, just to have it? It's not something I would subscribe to. First of all, it's a horrible optic. And the chances of needing it are very, very small. That's just me," Newman said.

He was also concerned about the storage of the rifles: "And then you are going to leave it on campus? Where someone could break in? That's over the top. And you're talking to a six-year SWAT team guy."

No Pinellas County School Board members contacted by the Tampa Bay Times responded to phone messages seeking comment.

If more local officials had the common sense of Mr. Newman we would not be on the edge of the abyss at the bottom of which rests the full-blown American fascist state. We are not there yet, but it is currently working out the kinks and any incident like another "terrorist" attack would lock it down. This is grim news given the rise of the Islamic State, ISIS, ISIL or whatever it calls itself on any given day.

An important concept that never seems to get much attention is that children who were born on or around September 11, 2001 have never really lived in the free society that the rest of us have. There is nothing that is a better form of conditioning to accept full blown fascism than in getting schoolchildren used to being around military style weapons and paramilitary forces from their earliest cognitive stages. The government schooling aside, which discourages creative thinking is bad enough but training children to accept fascism as the "new normal" is insidious.

As late author Sinclair Lewis so aptly put it: “It can happen here”.

San Diego School District Gets New MRAP from Feds

Recent stories on California cities that are divesting themselves of federally provided surplus military equipment are more of an anomaly than a trend. While  San Jose and Davis may be dumping battlefield designed mini-tanks, the San Diego School District cops are pretty damned proud of their brand spanking new MRAP (Mine Resistant Armor Protected) vehicle. The U.S. government's 1033 Program has been drawing plenty of belated criticism in the aftermath of the militarized police response to unrest in Ferguson, MO, but it is still providing military grade equipment to civilian agencies.  Giving it to police departments are one thing, but what in the fuck does a school district need such a vehicle for?

The San Diego Unified School District Police Department has acquired its own vehicle, known as a MRAP, and expect it to be operational by October.
“I can totally see people thinking ‘Oh, my God. Are they going to be rolling armoured vehicles into our schools and what the hell’s going on?’” Captain Joe Florentino told local media.

Police intended to use it to rescue children – be it from rampaging gunmen or natural disasters, he said. “When we have an emergency at a school, we’ve got to get in and save kids.”

An entire classroom of 30 to 40 elementary students could be evacuated “during every trip into a danger zone”, said Florentino. “Our idea is: ‘How can we get in and pull out a classroom at a time of kids if there’s an active shooter? If there’s a fire (or) if there’s an earthquake, can we rip down a wall?’ Stuff like that.”

It will be painted with a red cross, to evoke an ambulance, and hold medical supplies, the captain added.

While Captain Joe may be engaging in the standard fear-mongering and scare tactics - whenever an official invokes "the children",  a torrent of horseshit is sure to follow - it is still a military vehicle that has no place in a civilian area. It matters not that it is going to be "painted with a red cross" or painted with pink and purple polka dots, it belongs elsewhere. Some school District officials are questioning the wisdom of the acquisition of the military machinery. According to a story on the website for the San Diego Union Tribune,  "School official questions need for truck":

A San Diego Unified school board trustee raised questions Thursday about the district’s latest acquisition — a mine-resistant armored truck — after learning about the government-donated vehicle on social media this week.

Scott Barnett said the military-grade truck has no place in a school district and should be leased out to other agencies to raise money to replace its aging campus police cars. Barnett also expressed concern that the Army truck was acquired without consulting the school board or the public.
“The symbol of having an armored vehicle in the district is not the message we want to send to schools,” he said. “But we have it now. Can we leverage that vehicle to fund something we really need — new patrol cars?”

The fetish for all things military in San Diego is understandable being that it is a huge military city with the Navy and Marines both having bases there and this thing belongs on one - not on the streets. It is notable that San Diego was recently the scene of a SWAT invasion of a local college campus when a staff member's black umbrella was mistaken for a gun and some paranoid (probably a liberal) called in a school shooter threat. This is one sick fucking country in 2014 and unlike the pope of hope's prediction that the "fever would break" during his second term it has turned into a chronic social epidemic.

There is some hope that the endless flow of war zone equipment to Main Street America will be cut off soon although it won't be through legislation. With Obama's declaration of war on the Islamic State or ISIS, which will soon expand into the long gestating clash of civilizations against Islam there will be so many foreign battle zones across the Middle East that the government won't have enough MRAPS to send to the locals.

California Cop on Leave After Attacking Woman With Baseball Bat

The northern California city of Walnut Creek is the location of a bizarre incident that has landed a local police officer on administrative leave. Gregory Thompson, who is described as a 53 year old police veteran was arrested in August for allegedly attacking a woman in the early morning hours as she walked in a residential area. Not that police brutality is anything to be surprised about in 2014 America, especially with the federal government encouraging more aggressive attitudes by giving away surplus military equipment. What makes the Walnut Creek case an oddity is that officer Thompson was off duty and wearing a mask when the attack took place.

According to a story from the website of Oakland television station KTVU entitled "Walnut Creek officer accused of beating woman with bat":

A man who’d been in charge of upholding the law for three decades is now accused of breaking it.
Richmond police arrested an off-duty Walnut Creek Police Officer for allegedly donning a mask and beating a woman with a baseball bat on August 16. The attack happened around 2 a.m., in a residential neighborhood on Clinton and San Pablo avenues in Richmond.

53-year-old Gregory Thompson has been with the Walnut Creek Police Department for 30 years. He was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and felony vandalism after the attack.
Neighbors on Clinton Avenue recalled the commotion they heard the morning of the attack, around 2 a.m..

“We'd already gone to bed, kept hearing a banging, thumping noise,” neighbor Carus Culver, said.
Richmond police came to the area after getting several calls from neighbors about a woman screaming

“Police came knocking on our doors,” neighbor Jason Peneyra, said. “They were looking for a suspect.”

That suspect turned out to be Thompson

“A woman came down the street yelling that he had tried to attack her and another woman,” Culver recalled.

Richmond police found Thompson sitting in his car nearby and said he identified himself as a law enforcement officer. Investigators found a mask on the floor of his car and a baseball bat in the trunk.

“It's alarming for a police officer to do that,” Peneyra said. “That's weird. That's really weird.”

But what is even more “weird” is an account from the website of the San Francisco Chronicle that provides additional detail on the contents of Thompson’s car:

Richmond Police Capt. Bisa French says the 53-year-old Thompson was not wearing a police uniform or in a patrol car at the time of the alleged random attack. Officers discovered Thompson inside a car and found a ski mask as well as a baseball bat, two guns and zip ties.

The presence of the "zip ties" adds a particularly kinky element to the story.  If this is what some cops get their kicks out of doing on their off time then it is obvious that there are terrible personality types being attracted to the police profession. In addition to recruitment problems there seems to be an absence of proper training as well as protocol and adequate internal controls are not being implemented. You would think that regular psychological evaluations would be a requirement for police work these days to quickly detect trauma related disorders. Such screenings are badly needed  now that the quaint old slogan of “to protect and to serve” has been tossed away in favor of the unspoken rule of “to search and to destroy”.
This is seriously strange story but alas there will be tales that even stranger forthcoming as America completes the transformation into an authoritarian, fascist police state.

Crew Member of Cops Reality TV Show Shot Dead by Police

In an incident that is most surprising because it did not happen sooner, a crew member from the hit Fox reality show “Cops” was shot to death while on the job producing future episodes. The chosen police unit in Omaha, Nebraska were likely enjoying their moment in the television limelight until a response to a robbery went terribly wrong. In rolling up at a local Wendy’s fast food restaurant, the cops engaged in a shootout with the suspect that ultimately resulted in the death of audio technician Bryce Dion who was hit by a stray police bullet.

According to a story on the incident on CNN’s website “'Cops' crew member killed in police shooting”:

A crew member working on a taping of "Cops" was inadvertently shot and killed by a police officer during a robbery in Omaha, Nebraska, local officials said Wednesday.

Bryce Dion, an audio technician, is believed to be the first member of the "Cops" production staff killed in the 25-year history of the television show.

The production company behind "Cops," Langley Productions, said in a statement that it was "deeply saddened and shocked by this tragedy and our main concern is helping his family in any way we can."

Dion, 38, had been in Omaha all summer, helping with the production of future "Cops" episodes. The production company described him as a "long term member of the 'Cops' team and a very talented and dedicated person." His resume lists credits on "Cops" dating back to 2009.

Todd Schmaderer, the Omaha police chief, confirmed at a Wednesday afternoon news conference that a bullet fired by an officer struck Dion during a shootout with the robbery suspect, Cortez Washington, who was also killed.

Schmaderer described Dion as a friend to the officers that he'd been embedded with.
"This is as if we lost one of our own," Schmaderer said. "That is the grieving process we're going through right now."

Dion and a cameraman were traveling with police officers who responded to a robbery inside a Wendy's restaurant on Tuesday night. Schmaderer said the suspect, Washington, fired two shots at the responding officers, who responded with a barrage of gunfire.

It was later discovered that Washington had a pellet gun that fired plastic bullets.

The story is getting much attention today as it should by such prominent media outlets as the  USA Today “Police fired shot that killed 'Cops' crewmember”, The New York Times  “Police Shooting Kills Crew Member Working for Reality Show ‘Cops’”, ABC “Omaha Police Bullet Kills 'Cops' Film Crew Member” and of course Fox “'Cops' crew member killed by police officers”.

According to a local news source, Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer has already said that the officers were “justified” in firing their weapons. The question though is that if the perpetrator of the robbery knew that he was using a fake gun then why would he have pointed it at the police knowing full well that he would be gunned down like a dog by the guys with the real guns? Was the presence of the "Cops" film crew a mitigating factor in the shooting in that the officers wanted to look more like bad-asses on television? I suppose that this will only provide one more example to those pushing for President Barack Obama to appoint a national police Czar.

What is never discussed as one of the causes in the rise of police violence in America today is that culture plays a big role. Cops has now been on the air for over a quarter of a century and given the bent for authority worship that now exists in America it will probably continue to be shown for decades more. There is after all no shortage of material with the police state nearly fully implemented. It is the ultimate form of bread and circuses served up to the beggared and enslaved citizens of a rotting empire. There are also the movies, endless other police television series and violent video games that further contribute to the worship of the police, not a healthy trait of a supposedly "free" society.

Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do when they’re coming for you, bad boys!

Horrified Wal-Mart Shoppers Watch Cops Beat the Living Crap Out of Man

With the exception of the annual Black Friday door-buster sales, Wal-Mart stores normally aren't the venue for beatings so it was a shock to shoppers watching police pummel a man in the middle of an aisle on Saturday. In  yet another display of escalating police violence, cops in Greenville, South Carolina pursued a man  into the friendly neighborhood Wally World over the weekend and then after chasing him down commenced to pummel him - before they Tasered him. The victim, who by accounts as well as in video footage appeared to be intoxicated, was pursued into the big box store where he was subdued by two officers. One of whom punched the man in the head multiple times despite pleas from Wal-Mart customers to stop, landing up to 20 blows.

According to reports from Greenville television station WSPA-7 in a story posted on their website entitled  "Video Spurs Questions Of Arresting Methods After Deputies Tase Man Inside Walmart":

An arrest Saturday led to some witnesses thinking the arresting officers went a little far.
In a video sent to 7 On Your Side, you can see a man lying on the floor of the Walmart on Whitehorse Road and the deputies attempting to arrest him. Witnesses from the scene felt the officer's actions went too far, but the Greenville County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
According to Greenville County Master Deputy Jonathan Smith, deputies responded around 1:00pm Saturday to a call about an intoxicated man outside the Walmart.

He said the first deputy arrived to find the man acting erratic outside the store. The deputy approached the man and tried to speak to him. The man apparently kept repeating "I'm 911" to the deputy before walking away inside the store.

Smith said the second deputy arrived and the decision was made to enter the store and arrest the man. He says the man was resisting enough that a deputy had to use a taser in order to arrest him.
Smith said the man was taken outside the store and transported to a Greenville hospital. Smith said the man is undergoing evaluation to determine if he was under the influence of alcohol or other substances.

Several videos have surfaced of the incident on the internet. Smith says they are reviewing them and will comment further at a later time.

A reasonable person might figure that the nation's police forces would be very careful in the aftermath of incidents in Ferguson, Missouri as well as cognizant to how easy that it is to trigger a public relations nightmare but not the boys in blue in Greenville who are now enjoying their ten minutes of fame.
Robby Soave comments in a blog post at the libertarian website Reason online "Cop Hits Man in the Head 20 Times as Onlookers Plead 'Don't Punch Him No More'":

Once the cops have pinned a non-violent suspect to the ground, how many times are they allowed to punch him in the head? Is it fewer than 20? I would say so, but I'm not a Greenville County, South Carolina, deputy.

Greenville officers approached a man at a Walmart parking lot on Saturday. The man appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and didn't respond to police questions or instructions. Eventually, the officers followed the man inside the store, where they attempted to detain him. The deputies claim the man resisted, though video footage of the incident certainly makes said resistance look passive, rather than violent. But once the two cops had the man on the ground, one of them immediately began punching him in the head. I count at least 20 blows.

Onlookers were horrified, and begged the deputies to stop. Many thought the treatment of the man was cruel, according to WSPA.com. "Please don't punch him like that, don't punch him no more," said one witness. (More video footage can be seen here.)

The man was eventually tasered and then taken to the hospital. Police have not given his name or explained what the charges against him are. The department is reviewing the footage, however, to determine whether the deputy acted properly when he punched a helpless man in the head over and over and over again.

Maybe the victim was being an A-hole, was overly obnoxious or just guilty of the cardinal sin of not being sufficiently subservient to the police but the beating is another ugly look at the terrible state of law-enforcement in the post-9/11 iteration of the U.S.A. that is referred to as The Homeland. The South Carolina Wal-Mart thumping would be far less disturbing were it to have just been an isolated incident. Instead it provides  another piece in the much larger mosaic of police violence in America circa 2014.

The beatingstear gassingTaser attacksbody cavity violations (including anal probes) and obvious setups have now become all too frequent in American law enforcement. I know that there are good cops out there - and seeing crap like this must really piss them off - but the system itself is badly broken. We can see it on a daily basis and unless there is a national effort to demilitarize the police and enforce accountability we are all going to wake up one day in a fully fascist state. The analogy of the "boiling frog" has never been more evident nor as relevant to American society as it is today.
From Wikipedia:

The boiling frog story is a widespread anecdote describing a frog slowly being boiled alive. The premise is that if a frog is placed in boiling water, it will jump out, but if it is placed in cold water that is slowly heated, it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death. The story is often used as a metaphor for the inability or unwillingness of people to react to significant changes that occur gradually.

How's the water today folks?

Cop Kills Wyoming Police Department's Own Dog

Chalk up yet another dead dog onto the scoreboard of animals killed by police in this sick new era of search and destroy law enforcement. Usually the furry, four-legged victims are shot and killed execution style, often in front of the owners in overly aggressive raids. Some times at the wrong address and others during trespassing as in a recent incident in Chicago. This time however, it was just plain stupidity as a police officer from a hick Wyoming town called Mills left the department's own K9 animal locked in a police vehicle to suffocate on a summer day.

Details are provided in a  report from the website of the Casper Star-Tribune that is entitled "Mills police officer faces charge in death of K9 left in hot car":

A Mills police officer faces an animal cruelty charge following the death of a police dog that he allegedly left in a hot patrol car for several hours.

Zachary Miller, who has been with the police department for four years, is charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty in connection with the death of K9 officer Nyx, a drug detection dog.
The officer left the dog in his patrol car for more than six hours while the vehicle was parked outside the police department, according to an investigator's affidavit filed in Natrona County Circuit Court. The car was running, but the air conditioning was off and the windows were up.
“It’s not normal to leave a car running that long,” said Mills police chief Bryon Preciado. “I’m not justifying it. He shouldn’t have been here that long.”

Preciado said there is no policy on the time frame for leaving police dogs in patrol cars.
The affidavit states Miller arrived at the police department at 5:30 a.m. on July 9. Miller left shortly after to respond to a call with the only other officer working that day, Jake Bigelow. The two returned to the police department with Nyx in the vehicle about 6 a.m.

The officers went inside the department, leaving the dog in the car, and did not return to the car until about 12:20 p.m. The outside temperature had gone from 53 to 86 degrees, according to the affidavit. Police dogs are allowed inside the station, Preciado said.

During the time the officers were inside Miller was training Bigelow on patrol-duty procedures. Miller is no longer a training officer, Preciado said.

The story of the broiling of poor Nyx is indicative of some of the low-grade types that police work often attracts as well as a reflection of poor training. If officer Miller was indeed involved in "training" another officer the only thing that was taught was how not to treat a department and public asset as well as how to kill a dog. The negligence in the animal's death is not only embarrassing but a waste of taxpayer dollars. This is something that is more often seen by some mouth-breathing moron of the type that leaves their own children in hot vehicles for extended periods of time, which like actual police shootings of dogs happens all too frequently in our star-spangled Idiocracy.

This sad and lamentable tale of the stupidity of an agent of the government has drawn widespread attention. Reuters reports on it "Wyoming officer charged over death of police dog in hot car", it is in The Guardian "Officer charged in hot-car death of police dog", the New York Daily News "Wyoming cop charged with animal cruelty after death of K9 dog left in hot squad car" and dozens of other sources. The Casper Star-Tribune also reports on protests by animal rights activists "Protesters call for action after death of Mills K9 officer Nyx" who should perhaps be a bit more visible during an actual "puppycide" pet assassination than an egregious act of idiotic negligence such as this.

Banana Republic USA: More Reporters Arrested in Ferguson

Granted it is not like getting your head chopped off in a promotional video for the extremist Islamist group ISIS as journalist James Foley has suffered, but the press is under attack in America as well. In the continuation of Obama's war on journalism,  more reporters were arrested or otherwise detained in Ferguson, Missouri during coverage of the civil unrest. Not that Obama, his vicious hatchet man Eric Holder or any of the heavily armed thugs that are imposing borderline martial law in Ferguson give a rat's ass but we do have this thing called the First Amendment. That one most precious of gift from the founding fathers provides a guarantee of a free press in America and therefore has been targeted for elimination.

According to an article published by CNN entitled "6 more journalists arrested in Ferguson protests":

Six journalists were taken into custody while covering the protests in Ferguson, Missouri, on Monday and early Tuesday, aggravating what one press freedom group has called a "concerted, top-down effort to restrict the fundamental First Amendment rights of the public and the press."
The incidents bring the total number of journalists arrested during the mid-August protests to 11.
Other journalists reported being threatened with arrest and affected by tear-gas on Monday night. Authorities tried to restrict members of the news media to a designated area away from the protests, sometimes nicknamed a "press pen."

The latest arrests came on the same day that President Barack Obama reaffirmed his support for journalists on the ground in Ferguson. "Let me also be clear that our constitutional rights to speak freely, to assemble, and to report in the press must be vigilantly safeguarded, especially in moments like these," the President said at a Monday afternoon news conference.

The journalists arrested ranged from photographer Scott Olson of Getty Images, Breitbart.com reporter Kerry PicketRyan Devereaux from The Intercept and three Germans reporting on our sham democracy in The Homeland. These arrests followed last week’s display of militarized police assaulting and arresting two reporters. The public relations debacle included Washington Post reporter Wesley Lowery whose account was published the next day.  The thug police temporarily stood down and now are trolling for any who might catch their bullying on camera. It is like we live in some sort of third world dictatorship run by a petty and petulant tin-pot despot. Whoops, we do - it is just another day in Obamastan.

Obama is a colossal hypocrite. While he recites the drivel spoon-fed to him off his handy teleprompter about letting reporters do their jobs, he continues to be the greatest enemy to press freedom  in recent history. His rotten to the core administration has been the most hostile to the press since Richard M. Nixon stalked the halls of the White House braying at demons and compiling an enemies list.  I have no doubt that Obama does these things as well. The man is a complete fascist and yet there are moronic liberals and Democrats (but I repeat myself) who still defend the slimy bastard for the same things that they wanted to see Bush swinging from the end of a rope for. Hell, Bush was like Thomas Jefferson when compared to Obama who is a one-man Constitutional wrecking crew.

And Obama can go on television, throw out his chest and vow revenge against ISIS for the beheading of Foley all the he wants. However,  when his administration is hellbent at throwing Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalist James Risen into prison for doing his job it is just more of Barry’s bullshit. The next time that Obama wants to squeal for “justice” against Islamist fanatics in ISIS he should at least own up to some accountability in acknowledging that his regime is complicit in it’s creation. Obama’s failed foreign policy is what facilitated the endless flow of American funded weapons into Syria. He signed off on arming some of the most violent elements of global jihad to use as a proxy army against Bashar al Assad including al Qaeda affiliates and even admitted fucking cannibals.

In Obamastan the only time that the rights of a journalist matter is whenever dear leader can use an act of barbarism to score cheap political points in an election year. Were this still a decent country where the rule of law were honored, Mr. Obama would have been frog-marched out of the White House in handcuffs by now.

I mean just how fucked up does this shit have to get before Americans EVERYWHERE rise up against it?
