Queen Hillary the Inevitable Joins the Fray

It was a foregone conclusion but Hillary Rodham-Clinton has just locked down the Democratic party nod to replace Barack Obama as the reigning imperial warlord of planet Earth. She may as well just start picking out the color of the drapes for the Oval Office because it is a done deal. Elizabeth Warren? You have to be kidding. Joe Biden? He personifies Lyndon B. Johnson’s famous description of Gerald Ford as “so dumb he can’t fart and chew gum at the same time" - no way. The Republicans have zilch and their coming electoral triumph in November will be washed away by Hillary and mass voter turnout for the Democratic party like a silly little sandcastle in 2016. While the push is on for the restoration of the Bush dynasty with Dubya’s smarter brother Jeb, let's face it - he just isn’t racist enough to appeal to the dregs of the GOP base. Chris Christie? The greatest gasbag flameout in the state of NJ since The Hindenburg crash. Rand Paul? He tries too hard to appeal that the same base and ends up being associated with Negro hating yahoo’s like conservative talk radio hero Cliven Bundy while moderating his principled criticism of the NSA Stasi and US interventionism and never ending war and serves as his own worst enemy. When it comes to triangulation there is nothing quite like a Clinton and Hillary will be sworn in as the forty fifth president of the United States come January 2017. Chisel it in stone.

Mrs. Clinton’s de facto entry into the race occurred when she jumped on the authoritarian bandwagon when she spoke at the University of Connecticut this past week and pulled off a Mike Rogers style dirty knee-capping of former government contractor turned NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden. Mrs. Clinton’s remarks also doubled down on the Snowden as Russian agent meme so hammered by Rogers and this fellow jackbooted scum when she invoked the devil Putin along with the patriotic Snowden. I excerpt from a piece at Mother Jones where the video can also be viewed:

Clinton questioned Snowden's intentions in fleeing the country before offerring his information to the public. "When he emerged and when he absconded with all that material, I was puzzled, because we have all these protections for whistleblowers," Clinton said, when the moderator asked if there had been any positive effects for security policy following the NSA leaks. "If he were concerned and wanted to be part of the American debate, he could have been. But it struck me as—I just have to be honest with you—as sort of odd that he would flee to China, because Hong Kong is controlled by China, and that he would then go to Russia, two countries with which we have very difficult cyber-relationships, to put it mildly."

Clinton also suggested that Snowden had inadvertently helped terrorists. "I think turning over a lot of that material—intentionally or unintentionally, because of the way it can be drained—gave all kinds of information, not only to big countries, but to networks and terrorist groups and the like," she said.

Not that Hillary’s credentials as a world class bullshitter were ever in question and as one whose inclination is to go full neocon to the extent that she is worshipped by warmongers but she is parroting the official state lies in a warm up for what is to be a tour de force media blitzkrieg for the next two years or so.  We already have seen that nobody in the corrupt state-corporate media ever bothers to call any of these criminals in high places out for their horseshit, we saw it with the lies peddled on Syria’s alleged gas attack, on the NSA unconstitutional surveillance and data-mining and now on pushing a false one-sided narrative for a war on Russia via Ukraine. The presstitutes live for a chance to carry water for someone like Hillary, the nation’s first female president who is hellbent on ensuring her place in history and nothing could be more pleasing to the power elite, the moronic identity group obsessed liberals and their grand wars for humanitarianism than her finishing the job of the establishment of the global Empire.

There is no better example of the coming wave of media adoration than the recent gut-wrenching AP Story entitled “McCain-Clinton Bond Crosses Partisan Waters” from which I excerpt the following:

He's a former Republican presidential nominee. She could be the next Democratic presidential nominee. Lately, the Clintons and McCains seem to have embraced each other, offering up their families' working relationship as an example of ways that political leaders can overcome the partisan divide.

Clinton and McCain are appearing together Saturday in Sedona, Ariz., at the McCain Institute's annual gathering of political, business and philanthropic leaders. The closed-door forum - no reporters are allowed - comes as Clinton presents an above-the-fray image in speeches that often criticize the polarization of national politics and could serve as a warm-up to a presidential campaign.

Last month, McCain was a guest of the Clintons at their annual meeting of college students. Former President Bill Clinton welcomed McCain to the stage at Arizona State University, drawing laughs when he suggested their friendship might be a liability.

McCain is "a good friend of Hillary's and mine, although we permit him to deny it at election time," Clinton said. He credited McCain, who spent 5 1/2 years as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam, with helping him normalize relations with Vietnam in 1995.

Clinton recalled that McCain conferred with him during the 2008 campaign after Russia invaded neighboring Georgia. "You called me and said, `Look, I know you're on the other side, but we need to talk about Georgia,'" Clinton said. McCain returned the favor, complimenting Clinton's post-White House work and willingness "to make tough decisions."

The Clinton-McCain relationship flourished in the Senate while the two worked together on the Armed Services Committee; they traveled with other lawmakers to Iraq, the Arctic and the Baltics. During a 2004 visit to Estonia, the senators reportedly shared vodka shots after a day of meetings, a tale that generated chatter as the two prepared for their 2008 presidential campaigns.

"From a personal experience, there is nothing quite like traveling in Europe with John McCain and Hillary Clinton. It's like being on tour with the Beatles and the (Rolling) Stones," said former Sen. John E. Sununu, a New Hampshire Republican who attended the Baltic trip. He politely declined to discuss the vodka story.

You just have to love it, the references to partisan acrimony apparently never take into account the two things that ALWAYS unite the dueling crime syndicates in Washington – WAR!  There will be plenty of it too with the Clinton restoration and by the time that she is finished Obama will look like a real Nobel Peace Prize winner by comparison. When a bloodthirsty, pathological war criminal like John McCain has your back you have been firmly identified as someone who can be sure to max out the body count.

The Coming Militarization of the Arctic

On Friday Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel rolled out the latest expansion of U.S. militarism, this time in the Arctic which is sure to be a 'plum' duty assignment for military personnel whose job is bad enough without having to deal with freezing their asses off. While there may be a good amount of ideological squabbling regarding climate change as it is yet another of the idiotic political footballs that get kicked around in this country it does in fact exist. Because as we now see with this news the energy cartels and the U.S. Military are planning for it and have been for years now, big money does not deny pertinent information when there are profits to be reaped and new territories to be exploited. There are untold billions of dollars of oil wealth in the Arctic as the ice continues to melt facilitating exploration and Uncle Sam fully intends to plant Old Glory in the snow. 

Once again it is perfectly evident where our national priorities lie under the current leadership and the hegemonic era of full spectrum dominance. Our national credit card has been maxed out paying for the expenditures necessary to fund the warfare state that has eviscerated the country. Our streets are filled with the impoverished victims of a system on the verge of collapse, our infrastructure is obsolete and crumbling and our economy is a fraud, only kept afloat by the 85 billion dollar a month heroin fix of free gambling money from the Federal Reserve. There is always money for increased military endeavors, costly and unnecessary weapons systems and the armies of overpaid contractors that feed on it all like blood-sucking vampires.

Such a move was inevitable, not only for the obvious monetary value to big U.S. business but to offset Russia which has already announced the reopening of a military installation in the Arctic with President Vladimir Putin making no secret of the importance to Russian economic interests. So we now once again have another hot area of potential exploitation by a war-crazed establishment and as global geopolitics are currently in an area of flux due to the breakthrough deal with Iran on the sanctions/nuclear program over the weekend and the coming blitzkrieg from the obvious saboteurs whose lives are dedicated to attacking Tehran. Depending on the ability of the warmongers and a large number of treacherous rats of dubious loyalty in congress to sink the deal by pushing for stronger sanctions the region could soon end up being another front of what would be World War III. Oh, and China also has an eye on an increased presence in the region.

While Mr.  Hagel may now be talking about an avoidance of "conflict" as the rush to the riches ensues he also continues to talk the talk of the new American century: "We will remain prepared to detect, deter, prevent and defeat threats to our homeland and we will continue to exercise U.S. sovereignty in and around Alaska". It's always that "Homeland" reference that is so truly offensive and illustrative that what was once theoretically a free country can never be again as long as the invocations of the ever present and always vague "threats" are a part of the establishment lexicon.  The same type of rhetoric was used to justify the expansion of the U.S. military into the country itself despite the Posse Comitatus Act with NORTHCOM a few years ago with the purpose of providing actual military support to paramilitary police and domestic surveillance.

While the Arctic expansion of the military mission should be no surprise to anyone who pays attention it is notable and relevant as the formal pronouncement from the Secretary of Defense on Friday in Nova Scotia is newsworthy although you won't read much about it in the corrupt state-corporate media. The official Arctic strategy paper can be found here in .pdf format.

Spinning the Botched Seal Team Six Raid

Politicians never hesitate to hide behind “the children” when it comes to seeking cover, the little ones are right up there with old glory and the troops.  This week while spinning the botched Somalia raid by the hallowed  Seal Team Six, a military unit that is critical to the phony war on terror mythology the establishment quickly went to the well. After the most ass kicking military unit in the land was run out of Barawe with their tails between their legs under heavy fire it was sold as a strategic retreat so as to not harm “the children”. Funny that I don’t recall any such considerations for the safety of "the children" when it comes to drone strikes, cruise missile attacks, incendiary bombings or any of the other bravery of being out of range actions undertaken against the brown-skinned, non-Christians who are the targets of our imperialist policies. The Obama administration is certainly not shy about using “the children” for political purposes, this time it is to cover their asses for batting .667 over the weekend in black ops renditions but only weeks ago it was “the children” who laid dead at Ghouta, the victims of sarin gas and last year it was the Sandy Hook victims. Pretty damned shameless but dignity and grace have never been Barry’s strong points being the calculating political animal that he is.

Despite the triumphalism exhibited over the two successful renditions over the weekend, one being the kidnapping of the alleged perpetrator of embassy attacks back in the 20^th century, after which Secretary of Skull and Bones Kerry crowed “they can run but they can’t hide” in a rather eerie reinvention of the unspoken  “kill everything that moves” Vietnam  dictum the administration now is in damage control mode. Kerry, the windsurfing elitist who married into the Heinz ketchup family fortune after parlaying his Vietnam era experience into a national political platform conjured up memories of the fascist Bush administration by warning critics of our now firmly entrenched policies of kidnappings, torture and extrajudicial killings that “I think it’s important for people in the world not to sympathize with alleged terrorists.”  This of course speaks volumes about the rogue Obama regime’s ongoing war on journalists.  Now if you are a dissenter from the imperial policies you will be marked in some manner, the NSA Stasi sees everything and is warehousing all of that surveillance data in a gigantic complex in Utah where one day in the near future it will be used to retroactively identify enemies of the state and as in all authoritarian states their associates and families. Hitler, Mao and Stalin would have drooled over such capabilities.

The failed Seal Team Six raid will now join the list of taboo subjects in The Homeland and will be washed clean of the stench of illegality and failure by reliable state shills like NBC’s Jim Miklaszewski among many others. It will then be flushed down the memory hole once and for all. I suspect that at this very moment that the Pentagon planners and the narcissist in chief are concocting another series of commando raids to dominate the news cycles and divert attention from their enormous list of policy failures that have destroyed the economy and dragged America from the moral high ground it had occupied for decades – and sadly it did not go kicking and screaming when it was driven down. The new raids will be free of “the children” other than those who end up as “collateral damage”, Seal Team Six will be lionized once more and Obama and Kerry can prance around on the world stage, their complete and utter hypocrisy evident to all but themselves and the majority of their exceptional  people.

Obama Like a Sphinx as Egypt Burns

The hue and cry from the professional hand wringers over Barry’s inaction in Egypt after the ouster of Mohamad Morsi is now becoming as constant as it is laughable. The U.S. is losingprestige over Obama’s lame response to the growing wave of violence and the bloodbath in Egypt ridiculous even at face value. Prestige? Hell, to anyone who has been paying attention prestigeleft the building a long time ago when we began meddling in the region to begin with. It has been a cavalcade of ongoing disasters ever since and is only going to worsen as the current situation deteriorates. All hell has broken loose since Morsi was kicked out of power by the Egyptian military last month and every day beings fresh reports of escalating violence as pro-Morsi supporters and that devilish bogeyman the Muslim Brotherhood are targeted with extreme prejudice by the junta.  That the violence is being perpetrated largely through the use of American provided munitions and military financial aid packages is no small matter.  Unlike the majority of the inhabitants of this massive star-spangled lemming farm the rest of the world sees this and understands it perfectly as what it is.  For decades our foreign policy has been in the business of creating conflicts from which the defense industry and investors reap huge profits off of the misery of others, that is the way that it always is with Empire. The slaughter continues, the bodies pile up, rotting in makeshift morgues and the cash register bells are jingling as the blood barters of the military industrial complex reap their obscene profits.

It was the highly decorated former U.S. Marine Corps General Smedley D. Butler who summed it up most appropriately when he famously stated that “war is a racket” and that:

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives.

A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small “inside” group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes.

That is absolutely correct and never more so than in 2013, the brutal second decade of the New American Century. The idea of the United States as it currently exists being any sort of an avatar of human dignity and defender of human rights is a sick joke, a mockery and another of the great lies that is constantly sold to the sheeple. They are indoctrinated in the religion of American exceptionalism from their youngest cognitive days and then the state, it’s schools and it’s media drum home the idea for the duration of their lives. Few manage to escape from the flag-draped bubble of honor and glory, the simplistic we are the good guys myth but once you understand that it is a lie, always has been a lie then there is really no way to ever go back again. It is as Plato’s famous allegory of the cave for those mesmerized by the false shadows on the walls (or in the modern era, their televisions) will always prefer the comforts of their illusions and those who have seen reality will forever be cast out and shunned. Egypt is only the butchery du jour, it wasn’t that long ago that we were talking about Syria and that our sitting government was considering arming and supporting fanatics including flesh-eating cannibals against the Assad government. El Presidente himself was twisting arms to find the backing to send weaponry to these militants, including some groups possibly linked to Al Qaeda. The proud winner of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize has zero credibility, neither abroad nor here in Der Homeland thanks to his NSA Stasi and the lies that he has used to protect it.

Now Barry finds himself in a bit of a political pickle. When he finally gets back to work after his schmooze-a- palooza with the elites at the playground of the idle rich that is Martha’s Vineyard he will find himself under attack by opportunistic political jackals seeking to have it both ways. Since it is after all Sunday, the king and queen of the Pentagon pimps, John McCain and Lindsay Graham were making their normal glad-handing, gut-wrenching appearances on the gauche masturbatory fests that are the weekly gabfests. Hey, they are authorities, the state media absolutely loves them and besides, Obama himself sent the two snakes on a special mission to Egypt just weeks ago. Sunday morning, they were plunging in the daggers between his shoulder blades as was wrapping up his taxpayer funded soiree after playing golf with comedian Larry David on Saturday and with Comcast CEO Brian Roberts earlier in the week. It should be of note that this is no small coincidence considering that Comcast owns MSNBC which is  the propaganda arm of the Obama administration and the Democratic Party.  McCain wailed about Obama causing the U.S. to have“lost all credibility in the Middle East” by not cutting off aid to Egypt. What the ever crankier and unstable old bastard never mentions is that his own support for Bush’s disastrous invasion and occupation of Iraq, based on a lie that he not only shilled for but enabled didn’t exactly add to our ‘prestigious’ image. The invasion of Iraq, while admittedly displacing a vicious thug in Saddam Hussein (who we once backed) and the subsequent slaughter of civilians, the unleashing of sectarian violence and the exposure of torture at Abu Ghraib Prison will forever be a pox upon us. The Iraq debacle was unnecessary and has created more ‘terrorists’ and enemies than ever could have been imagined. Guys like McCain are the best recruiters for bin Laden types, so good that they could actually be on the official payroll of Al Qaeda. Charlatans like McCain, Graham, Peter King and their ilk are always first and foremost about themselves over what benefits their country.

Obama’s failure to stop arming the murderers in Egypt will likely do wonders for our existing dismal image in the region, already a sucking, stinking black hole of death, misery and primitive religious fanaticism. McCain and his little buddy will be up and down, for and against Barry depending on what day it happens to be but neither of those blood-drinking politically influential carrion birds have ever met a war that they could not support nor their munitions industry cronies couldn’t profit off of. The administration’s hands are however tied by the need to support big business interests in the region therefore other than some gesture of no substance, for example small cuts in the approximately 1.5 billion dollars extorted out of the American tax payers nothing will be done to stop the violence. There is too much money to be made and his hands are tied, don’t forget that when the uprising of 2011 forced U.S. backed Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak from power that Obama’s emissary wasn’t a former political or State Department dignitary but one Frank Wisner Jr., who is virtually the bagman of empire. Wisner’s father, Frank Wisner Sr. was one of the Wall Street eastern elite who was instrumental in the establishment of the CIA, the enforcement arm of the empire. When it all comes down to it, it is really all about money, it is all just one big racket exactly as General Butler said it was. When munitions manufacturers and mammoth global corporations such as Exxon Mobil are able to effectively set their own business friendly foreign policy (see Steve Coll’s Private Empire) using the CIA, the U.S. military and the NSA as tools for their profiteering it is easy to see that our political actors are just that, tools of the real power elite.

Obama is just the bloodsucker of the moment, since the end of World War II and the advent of the National Security State this country has required it’s presidents to be bathed in blood. Bush may have ignited the funeral pyre of the Middle East but never forget that WW II, Korea and Vietnam were all presided over by Democrats. With Obama now having a bit less than three and a half years to go he will want to have pissed his own name into the snow as a ‘war president’, our currently configured society of permanent warfare demands it. Nothing after all creates an eternal foreign enemy which is used by the rogue state to justify it’s increasingly virulent domestically oppressive policies than our ongoing wars and interventions. You have to understand this to know why someone like Senator Rand Paul has become such a hated figure, and his own Sunday morning appearance today will only put a bigger target on his back. On Fox News Sunday Paul dared to utter the heresy that foreign aid “essentially goes to dictators and despots” which “doesn’t win the hearts and minds of people”. But when that is the unstated intent, to keep the war machine running and generating profits while wrapping the entire immoral package up in a shiny package with a red, white and blue bow to be delivered to Boobus Americanus as patriotism a man like Rand Paul is dangerous. If I were him I would keep in mind what happened to Michael Hastings and what is going to happen to Ed Snowden very soon. Whatever Senator Paul does, in light of history it would be advised to stay away from flying on small planes.

It is no coincidence that the good amount of the problems that the U.S. faces with the world in general and the Middle East in specific are self-created. There are currently the abattoirs of Egypt and Syria and of course the aforementioned Iraq but this has always been the case. The 1953 CIA backed overthrow of Iran’s then democratically elected leader Mohammad Mossaddegh after a nationalizing of oil companies.  Operation Ajax ensured that Mossaddegh was replaced by the western backed puppet despot the Shah of Iran who ruled with an iron fist. His ruthless secret police, the SAVAK kept order through the use of torture and repression. It was in 1979 that the Iranian Revolution brought the Mullahs into power along with the Ayatollah Khomeini. The U.S. embassy was stormed and hostages were taken, this led to the subsequent ouster of U.S. President Jimmy Carter. The revolution was a backlash against the Shah and his foreign backers and to this day Iran continues to be a problem although much of the nuclear threats are hype and propaganda to wrest power from the theocrats and get another U.S. friendly strongman into power.

Then there was the 1965 CIA backed coup in Indonesia that resulted in the rule of U.S. friendly dictator Suharto and which had the critical assistance of the country’s Muslims who were whipped up by propaganda against the godless commies. Muslims assisted the military junta, militias, criminal gangs and other opposition backed groups in committing one of the greatest slaughters of the 20th century. Today Indonesia is demographically the largest Muslim country on the planet, is the home to an estimated 12.7 percent of the world’s Islamic adherents. I use these examples (there are dozens more) primarily because that ever since communism collapsed the need for the Manichean Devil, the always hateful enemy is being filled by Muslims. They occupy resource rich territories, Islam is their coherent religious dogma which stands in the way of western imperialist exploitation and their lives of misery, abetted by U.S. friendly tyrants ensures that they will always be filled with resentment, bitterness and even righteous fury at the west. There is nothing that quite radicalizes like having your loved ones killed by wayward bombs, errant drone strikes or tortured to death in the dungeons of their despotic rulers. Forget that Islamic caliphate crap, that’s for the rubes, the rabble and those who can be easily manipulated and mustered as political shock troops by corrupt and cynical party bosses. The real power in this country is cold, calculating and pragmatic, it’s representatives are guys like Henry Kissinger and Zbigniew Brezinski and it’s bagmen are guys like Frank Wisner. All the rest is political theater and those who are demanding that Obama cut off military aid to Egypt now are just trying to avoid responsibility for the coming slaughter, hypocrites all. In a footnote to the Indonesian atrocities where the enemies of the regime were labeled “Gestapu” (after Gestapo) the Egyptian junta is in the process of banning the Muslim Brotherhood, an official sanctioning of the coming wave of murders, torture and assassinations that will seek to eradicate the group.  A statement is being made here , as this seems to somewhat mimic the blueprint for a past coup look for rivers of blood to flow through the streets of Cairo.

Where he able to, Obama should get the United States the hell out of the Middle East entirely and the sooner the better. But he won’t, and neither will his successors because there is far too much blood money to be made yet and anyone who believes otherwise is both foolish and naive and only serve as enablers of the downtrend.
