Administration Goons Force Secure Email Firm Out of Business

The Washington bully boys can put another feather in their Alpine hats this week. They have once again brought the enormous pressure of the secret state police down on a successful private business in their relentless hunt for former government contractor Booz Allen employee and NSA leaker Edward Snowden. So intent is Obama’s Stasi to set an example by going medieval on the poor young man and torturing him as an example to keep the lemmings on the farm that anything goes. The secret state has so far been able to extort, threaten, bribe and terrorize big American internet and telecommunications giants into playing along with the unconstitutional surveillance of the American public and they were successful this time in forcing this smaller company out of business but not without a bit of defiance.

Texas based secure email company Lavabit was descended upon by the always overzealous agents of the Obama- Holder-Alexander axis of evil as though they were hordes of flesh eating locusts. Instead of being forced to succumb to big government threats to compel it to become another tool of the surveillance state Lavabit instead chose to shut itself down rather than cave in to the administration’s thugs. The service which was reportedly used by Snowden to communicate securely while he was trapped in Moscow's airport was effectively removed from the equation, a win for Obama and his minions who once again proved the power of their fascist police state. But in an encouraging sign, rather than simply go quietly Lavabit’s founder Ladar Levison extended a big middle finger to the eastern branch of the Chicago mob. After abruptly shutting down the service on Thursday Levison posted the following statement on the homepage:

My Fellow Users,

I have been forced to make a difficult decision: to become complicit in crimes against the American people or walk away from nearly ten years of hard work by shutting down Lavabit. After significant soul searching, I have decided to suspend operations. I wish that I could legally share with you the events that led to my decision. I cannot. I feel you deserve to know what’s going on--the first amendment is supposed to guarantee me the freedom to speak out in situations like this. Unfortunately, Congress has passed laws that say otherwise. As things currently stand, I cannot share my experiences over the last six weeks, even though I have twice made the appropriate requests.

What’s going to happen now? We’ve already started preparing the paperwork needed to continue to fight for the Constitution in the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. A favorable decision would allow me resurrect Lavabit as an American company.

This experience has taught me one very important lesson: without congressional action or a strong judicial precedent, I would _strongly_ recommend against anyone trusting their private data to a company with physical ties to the United States.

Sincerely,
Ladar Levison
Owner and Operator, Lavabit LLC

The last line is beautiful, especially the warning about using U.S. based technology companies and while a good deal of Americans are getting their daily fix of "news" fed to them by a state media still sniffing Anthony Wiener's underwear the rest of the civilized world is paying heed. This is not a good thing for business when it comes to a global economy and is yet another sign of how American capitalism has become rotten and corrupted by big government interference. It is a big world out there, a hard to digest truth for a good percentage of the American sheep but for foreign customers they are not going to be spending their money on cloud services and telecommunications services firms that are known to be compromised by a rotten central government and it's raw zealotry, contempt for privacy and gangster tactics. It is only a matter of time until non-domestic based alternatives rise up as competition but I am also pretty sure that any use of the new firms by U.S. citizens will be criminalized and have one labeled as a "terrorist"

You can rest assured that the Justice Department is this very minute working on building a case against Levison for such a rebellious attitude, his punishment will be less than what awaits Snowden but his is in big trouble nonetheless. Nobody can be allowed to speak out against this rotten and corrupt Leviathan without very serious and consequences being brought upon them. It would be no shock if the vicious and amoral Eric Holder won’t be personally involved in this one as well.  A veteran political fixer Holder is Frank Nitti to Obama’s Al Capone and hell hath no fury like the narcissistic and venal commander in chief scorned, especially in the early stages of his second (and hopefully last) term in office.

Secret Circle, another secure email provider and Lavabit's competitor also shut itself down rather than be forced to collaborate with the fascists. According to at least one account Secret Circle also destroyed it's servers rather than let them fall into the clutches of the enemies of the American people. An encouraging sign that the  the resistance to the rogue government of Barack H. Obama, Eric Holder and General Alexander isn't going away. The timely resurrection of Al Qaeda proved to be so ridiculous that Obama announced that the previously closed embassies would be reopened as well after the claims were met with widespread skepticism.

El Presidente capped off his wonderful week, during which he slimed around with the multimillionaire clown and servant of the establishment Jay Leno on national television to spread his lies and then threw a tantrum by cancelling his September summit with Vladimir Putin by giving a White House press conference on Friday. Fresh off of his blatant lie to the American people on Leno's show that: "We don't have a domestic spying program...What we do have are some mechanisms where we can track a phone number or an email address that we know is connected to some sort of terrorist threat." Yet on Friday he announced that there would be a series of reforms made to what all definitions is exactly “a domestic spying program”.

“Nobody is listening to your calls” reassured Obama but while he may be technically correct he is fibbing once again. What Obama or any of the other defenders of the oppressive surveillance colossus don’t mention is that they don’t have to listen to your calls, they are collecting and warehousing all of this date for unknown and ominous future use. The abuse is already rampant as each drip, drip, drip revelation shows. This week it was also reported that the DEA was using surveillance information provided by the NSA Stasi to build cases against drug offenders and agents were told to cover it up.

Obama also used the event to insult Putin again while the sycophantic presstitutes gobbled it up and giggled. The haughty king had been humbled and his government exposed as the gigantic hypocrites that they are on human rights by the Russian boss and he is still bitching about it. He referred to Putin as a "bored kid in the back of the classroom" but it is Obama himself who belongs in the corner wearing a dunce cap, I am sure that he will somewhat salve his wounds over the next week or so as he has slithered off to Martha's Vineyard to schmooze with other elitist snobs, all paid for by the American taxpayer.

You can practically see Obama becoming more corrupt and despotic every day, swelling up like a poison toad, such is the intoxicating nature of being the public head of the Empire. To quote the great American writer H.L. Mencken, "Imagine a gentleman and you will have imagined everything that he was not".
