Punching a Hole in the Sanctimonious Horseshit Over Redskins Nickname

Now that the Democrats are getting revved up in their War on the Redskins to gin up outrage among their dwindling liberal base, a new editorial skewers them by telling the truth. On Tuesday, Senator Maria Cantwell of Washington State announced that she was sponsoring a bill that would extort the NFL by stripping away its tax exempt status if the Washington franchise’s team name was not changed. Not that this ever was an issue before the imminent loss of the Senate in 2014, the Redskins have held that name ever since 1932 when they were still in Boston. The newspaper of the Beltway, the Washington Post today published a column that serves to rub the faces of Democrats in a big pile of their own steaming cynicism and hypocrisy.

The column, written by Robert O’Donnell is the type that is necessary to lend some needed perspective to this idiotic nonsense that has absolutely no national importance and is only being used as a political wedge issue. Mr. O’Donnell, who according to the byline spent time working on “tribal justice issues for the Department of Justice's Office of Public Affairs” serves up a dose of reality to the professional agitators of the jackass party.

I excerpt the following from “Stop congratulating yourself for opposing the Redskins’ name. You’re not helping the real problem”:

Native Americans in the United States are suffering. They are victims of domestic violence at higher levels than any other race. They experience higher rates of alcohol abuse, mental health illnesses and suicide than the general population. More than a quarter of them live in poverty, a rate two and a half times higher than white Americans. And one in three Native American women will be raped in her lifetime, more than any other racial group.

Native Americans lag behind the rest of the country in almost every leading indicator of health and well-being. And yet, we rarely, if ever, hear these problems discussed in the news, on social media or around our own kitchen tables. There is, however, one Native American issue that has captured the national spotlight: the Washington Redskins’ name.

On this topic, everybody has an opinion: Mike Ditka, Phil Simms and Tony Dungy, California lawmakers and even Pocahontas (sort of). And now federal politicians are taking action. Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.) announced this week that, because of the controversial name, she plans to introduce legislation that would revoke the NFL’s tax-exempt status.

And so, after decades of being overlooked by the media, Native Americans have been cast into the national spotlight for the wrong reason. The truth is, if the Redskins’ name changed today, the lives of Native Americans would be just as desperate as they were yesterday.

It is nicely done so as to acknowledge the idea that the name “Redskins” could potentially be offensive to Native Americans yet at the same time addresses actual problems that are left out of the narrative. I suppose that it is politically incorrect at some level, although I sure as hell can’t believe that any offense inflicted upon Native Americans because of a pro sports nickname outweighs the fact that their ancestors were slaughtered and robbed of their land by the same type of scum that is currently running the U.S. government.

The Democrats can continue to cry their crocodile tears and engage in their stupid jihad against the NFL, Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder and the intelligence of the American public but they are all phonies. The Obama administration, the Democratic party and future members of the regime of Queen Hillary the Inevitable will not do one damned thing to address the actual social problems that afflict Native Americans.  As anyone with two eyes and a smidgen of common sense can plainly see by now they only “feel your pain” when they need your vote and once that has been recorded they could give a rat’s ass about any of the identity based groups that they proclaim themselves to champion. Native Americans are only the latest to be betrayed for the sake of cheap politics by the disgusting Dems.

Desperate and Doomed Democrats Launch Jihad Against NFL Commissioner

Not only have the Democrats in Congress hit bottom but they have now set up a drilling rig to further plumb the depths.  The jackass party - which apparently has nothing serious to devote their time to - is now going after NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. This latest stunt by Democrats is an obvious extension of the phony controversy over the Washington Redskins team name. Both are blatant cases of trolling for identity group based emotions in an election year. This new Democrat dog and pony show capitalizes on that recently released video former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice pummeling his fiancée Janay Palmer in an elevator. This seems to some of them to be a far more outrageous act than the extremist Islamist army ISIS allegedly sawing  the heads off of journalists. 

When I first started blogging I have to admit that my motivating factor was driven my my intense hatred for Republicans, in particular the Bushreich. This was back in 2005 and the final straw was the descent of hordes of right-wingers to feast on the poor, brain-dead woman Terri Schiavo. There were of course the wars, the worship of Bush himself, the denouncing of critics as "traitors" etc. Now, nine years later not only have the Democrats roared from behind to pull equal with the GOP in terms of my enmity towards the corrupt U.S. political system, they are on the verge of pulling ahead. Even more so now that Obama has lied the public into yet another Middle Eastern war. 

I have always wanted to vomit whenever the worthless hacks in Congress engaged in one of their trademark publicity gimmicks of dragging current and former professional sports athletes before one of their silly tribunals. Whether it be steroids in baseball, the Redskins name farce and now the “domestic violence” menace it has always been cynical in the worst tradition of sleazy politics. Such stupid witch hunts are a huge waste of taxpayer dollars and this would be true even if the country wasn't currently mired in never-ending wars and stuck with a dismal economy - all of which the Democrats now own.

According to a story published on the website for USA Today entitled “Congress probes NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on Ray Rice case”:

Twelve House of Representatives Judiciary Committee Democrats sent a letter to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Wednesday demanding "the highest level of transparency" concerning how the league investigated the Ray Rice domestic violence incident.

Goodell made clear in interviews Tuesday night with USA TODAY Sports and CBS that he does not feel his job is in jeopardy.

But clearly his handling of the Rice domestic violence issue is not going away and is reminiscent of the heat Congress and the House have increased on Goodell over changing the offensive nature of the Washington Redskins team name.

The poison penned letter put together by those twelve wretched excuses for public servants states:

We write concerning the important issue of domestic violence, which unfortunately impacts every level of our society, and which we must find ways to combat comprehensively. Our professional sports leagues are important economic and cultural institutions in the United States and we are interested in the manner in which these leagues handle incidents of domestic violence by their players, owners, and other employees. We believe that these high-profile professional leagues are, in many ways, in a position of public trust and should be at the forefront of handling such incidents appropriately.

With this year marking the 20th anniversary of the enactment of the Violence Against Women Act, we all recognize that this issue requires strengthened and sustained efforts by individuals, organizations, and government. Of course, we are particularly concerned about information that has come to light about the perpetration of domestic violence by one of the NFL's players, Ray Rice, against his then-fiancee, Janay Palmer, in an elevator at the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey on February 15, 2014.

Given the important role the NFL and the other major professional sports leagues can play in shaping public perceptions concerning domestic violence, it would appear to be in the public interest to have the highest level of transparency associated with reviews of potential misconduct.

I have zero sympathy for Commissioner Roger Goodell. During his tenure he has done his damnedest to destroy the NFL with his ongoing tantrums, bullying and tirades, sissifying the game to tone down the violence for international audiences and for God’s sake even dabbling with eliminating kickoffs and extra points. He is a colossal asshole and the NFL will be better the instant that he no longer is the commissioner: if there is anything left of the game that is. As a lifelong professional football fan I curse Roger Goodell’s name. The only Americans that I hold in lower esteem are Barack Obama, the Kardashians, and the entire U.S. Congress.

The Democrats are desperate and can already hear the thunder that heralds the coming great, cleansing storm of November 4th. That will be the day when as Travis Bickle once so eloquently put it:  “Someday a real rain will come and wash all this scum off the streets”.

And there is no amount of milking the con job that is the so-called “war on women” that is going to hold back that coming deluge. I hate the fucking Democrats and want to see them eradicated, at least the GOP is always up front about what it stands for.
